Trusts and Foundations Manager
This is a new role at the DEC and developed as a key part of the DEC’s 2024-2029 strategy. The DEC has a wide range of established relationships with trusts and foundations, many of which give 6- and 7-figure sums to DEC appeals. The Trusts & Foundations Manager will be responsible for providing excellent stewardship to our portfolio of trusts and foundations.
In addition, the role will also be responsible for cultivating new relationships for the DEC through thorough research, and through the prospect development cycle, to raise money for DEC appeals. In addition to appeal fundraising, the Trusts & Foundations Manager will be responsible for delivering on a new core cost fundraising strategy, in close partnership with the Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships.
Demonstrable, transferable trusts and foundations experience and knowledge, (preferably within the humanitarian & charity sector), will hold you in good stead for this exciting new role.
Key responsibilities include:
Strategic Development: Develop and manage the trusts and foundations portfolio and create compelling proposals for future appeals and core costs income. Showcase new ideas and innovative approaches for growing and developing a pipeline of new prospects. Develop engaging stewardship plans.
Administrative Compliance: Lead and manage, robust and professional grant management, ensuring systems and processes are fit for purpose, streamlined and accessible. Remain compliant with grant terms and conditions, ensuring you are clearly communicating the unique contours of the DEC model whilst providing comprehensive and inspiring impact reporting.
Relationship Management: Maintain regular contact and collaboration with internal teams to collate a high-quality suite of communication materials and stewardship plans specific to a trust and foundation audience. Proactively reach out and build long-lasting relationships with funders to reach ambitious fundraising targets.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitor, measure and evaluate progress against the DEC’s strategic goals and funds raised from trusts and foundations. Prepare regular reports for senior management and trustees on the development, progress and future strategic actions for trusts and foundations at the DEC.
Essential qualities, experience, knowledge, skills, include:
- A track record of securing five- and six-figure donations from trusts and foundations.
- Experience of successfully executing cultivation plans and retaining positive, key relationships with trusts and foundations on behalf of a charity.
- Experience of producing professional and compelling funding propositions for a trust and foundation audience.
- Experience of delivering highly engaging and personalised stewardship journeys and meeting the reporting requirements of charitable trusts and foundations
- High level of technical ability with appropriate computer software packages and data analysis and visualisation software [i.e., Microsoft Office, Adobe, Box].
- Proven financial acumen to comfortably evaluate financial information and manage budgets.
- High attention to detail and numerate accuracy in analysing and using data and financial information, to write coherent reports.
- Clear and confident communicator both orally and in writing [in English].
- Able to present persuasively and influence decision making.
- Able to use initiative and judgement to proactively identify and resolve problems.

Overview:
Following the successful application of a National Lottery award, we are seeking two dedicated and compassionate Peer Support Group Development Officers to set up and sustain local peer support groups for people living with and affected by prostate cancer. These roles focus on building on our established networks to expand peer support in defined areas, facilitating group formation, and enhancing service delivery through strategic outreach and resource development.

Key Responsibilities:
- Group formation and support: Oversee the setup and operation of 10-12 self-sustaining and independent peer support groups within your assigned region across the lifetime of the three-year project. Ensure smooth delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of group activities. Support existing group leaders and organisers to reach more people living with and affected by prostate cancer with tools and resources.
- Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, train, and support volunteer Support Group Leaders. Assist in the co-production of training materials and resources, aimed at creating self-sustainable groups.
- Community Engagement: Conduct outreach to map existing support services and facilitate the integration of these services with the peer support groups. Host local engagement events to boost volunteer recruitment.
- Data and Case Management: Use a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to support high-quality volunteer and case management, ensuring accurate data collection to support service outcomes.
- Training and Development: Develop and deliver tailored training programmes for volunteers based on the specific needs of Group Leaders and Organisers. Set up regional forums for sharing best practices and peer networking. Encourage use of Members Portal to share good practice.
- Documentation and Compliance: Ensure compliance with Best Practice Guidance document. Ensure adherence to safeguarding policies to maintain safe governance of peer support groups.
Skills and Qualities Required:
- Strong Facilitation and Communication Skills: Ability to engage effectively with diverse groups. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Project Management: Proven skills in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders. Ability to meet deadlines and manage a varied workload.
- Volunteer Management: Experience in recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers in community settings. Knowledge of best practices in volunteer management.
- Influencing: Experience of influencing a wide range of partners and stakeholders, and in particular clinicians and voluntary and community providers within the health and wellbeing community.
- Community Development: Experience of developing and delivering community services with a range of stakeholders, including health and social care workers, commissioners, local authority and community and voluntary partners.
- Data-Driven Approach: Experience with data collection and CRM systems and a commitment to data-driven service evaluation.

Criteria

Experience of DRTV is required, with an understanding of individual giving fundraising KPIs, including in relation to: DRTV, print, telemarketing, email and landing pages. You will be confident working with data with attention to detail and accuracy, from briefing data criteria for emails to using excel to review and share results. You will also be able to engage wider stakeholders in our acquisition testing plan development, providing clear regular communication to update on progress and learnings.

Key Duties:
- Assist in the development and implementation of individual giving fundraising campaigns to ensure sustainable income growth and long-term donor engagement.

About the role
We’re hiring our first Corporate Fundraising Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join us at a key moment in our growth and shape our approach to corporate fundraising for the future. We’re aiming to generate £100,000 of corporate partnership income in the next twelve months, while laying strong foundations for growth from there.
You’ll report directly to and work closely with our CEO in expanding our network of corporate partners to increase our income, the opportunities we can offer young people and the scale of our impact.
You’ll be:
- Leading on identifying, researching, engaging and converting new corporate prospects and relationships. We work with a range of partners, including Wild Cosmetics, PA Consulting and Newsflare.
- Management of new business pipeline and prospect lists, including use and maintenance of corporate prospects data via Airtable.
- Proactive networking with early careers, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Corporate Social Responsibility leaders to develop new partnerships that grow GoodWork’s impact.
- Working with the CEO to develop our propositions, periodically refreshing our corporate offer with creative ideas, proposals and content to inspire decision makers.
- Maintaining and strengthening relationships with existing corporate partners in order to generate sustainable income and opportunities for young people.
- Getting involved with the delivery of our programme, to build your understanding of our mission and how we work with young people. This might involve mentoring one of our programme participants, supporting workshop delivery or interview coaching as a small part of your role, helping you stay close to the heart of what we do.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone with a track record of securing significant income and managing corporate relationships. There is scope for this to become a permanent, full-time position and for the successful candidate to become a key member of GoodWork’s leadership team as the organisation grows.
- A strong track-record in corporate fundraising, with demonstrable evidence of five-figure new business income generation.
- We will also consider candidates with proven business development experience in the private sector, with a well-articulated desire to move into the third sector and ability to rapidly build relevant knowledge and skills.
- Drive, ambition, strategic and creative thinking, with the ability to frame propositions to deliver mutual benefits for both GoodWork and our prospective partners.

Our team works together in-person two days a week at Fivefields (Mon/Thurs) and we’d like our Corporate Fundraising Manager to join us for at least one of these days.
This contract is for 0.6 FTE (22.5 hours per week). We work flexibly, provided all our team can fulfil the requirements of their roles and collaborate effectively with colleagues. With this in mind, we’re open to requests to split these hours across three or four days of the week as best suits the successful candidate.
You’ll need to be able to attend occasional in-person events, including possible evening sessions for which time off in lieu will be given. You should also expect to attend regular in-person meetings with our London-based employer partners.

As Senior Individual Giving Fundraiser, you’ll work as part of the Public Fundraising team responsible for managing a portfolio of Individual Giving campaigns from inception through to evaluation to generate funds, improve engagement and increase life-time value of existing supporters.

Location: Here East Press Centre, 14 East Bay Lane, London, E15 2GW with working from home most of the time.
The role
In this role, you will:
- Be responsible for project leading on our retention campaigns, coordinating with a number of different stakeholders, both internal and externally.
- Be expected to manage budgets
- Provide a data and insight-led, audience-focused and rewarding supporter journey that maximises lifetime value of the supporter.
- Work with the Supporter Retention Lead to deliver campaigns against agreed budgets

Mind's Partnerships Fundraising team - part of the wider fundraising directorate - is responsible for generating income from major donors, charitable trusts and foundations, the statutory and corporate sectors.
The New Corporate Partnerships team consists of a team head, two leads (including this role), two senior partnership officers, three officers, and one assistant.
The New Corporate Partnerships team has been at the forefront of securing some fantastic partnerships for Mind such as, Allianz, Bupa, Co-op, Direct Line, Dunelm, ITV, McLaren Racing, and McVitie's, to name a few. Our partnerships cover the spectrum of partnership types; strategic and Charity of the Year partnerships (COTYs) and brand and commercial partnerships. You will help us to refine our strategies and build on our success.

Working with the Head of New Partnerships, the Strategic and Transformational New Partnerships Lead will:
-Help develop and implement the Corporate Partnerships team's new partnerships strategy, working closely with the Head of New Corporate Partnerships and other team members.
-In year one, be accountable for delivering an individual income target for 24/25 and beyond, and supporting the overall New Partnerships Teams' multi-year income targets and ROI, working with the Head of New Corporate Partnerships and reviewing progress on a monthly and quarterly basis.
-Lead a dedicated sub-team within the New Partnerships team, helping to develop their pipeline and promoting innovative, proactive approaches to partnership development
-In collaboration with the Head of New Partnerships, lead new strategic and transformational partnerships development with the aim of increasing the sustainability, value and breadth of partnerships secured at Mind.
-Project Manage high level proposals, liaising with multiple internals teams, creating clear project plans including: roles and responsibilities, senior stakeholder briefing and internal feedback.
-Liaise with the Planning and Development team to understand key offerings for corporate partnership, our strategic priorities for prospects
-Identify networking opportunities across Mind and externally for potential corporate partnerships
-Develop stewardship plans for top prospects, including Mind senior leadership and trustee engagement and roles, taking a collaborative approach and balancing impact and effort across opportunities
-Line manage one Senior Officer, alongside indirect line reports, who will support with the development of pitches and lead some opportunities with your support
-Lead and assist with the design of new partnership agreements with companies to ensure that expectations from both parties are met and the interests of Mind are looked after, and risks are mitigated.
-Work proactively with the Corporate Partnerships team managers and support the wider team to renew, deliver and grow holistic, donor-focused partnerships where appropriate.
-Work with colleagues across Mind to identify the potential and manage the risk in new partnerships, ensuring that Mind's ethical policy and charity legislation is adhered to.
-Monitor, analyse and review information on industry trends, innovations and developments, keeping the pipeline updated.
-Represent the Partnerships team in appropriate working groups, workshops and/or meetings/other events as directed.
-Monitor and evaluate new business activity and provide regular updates/reports to the Head of New Corporate Partnerships.
-To use the CRM database to enter, update and extract accurate information to maximise operational benefits and opportunities from the database system.
-To support the new partnerships team and have delegated responsibility from time to time, in the absence of the Head of New Partnerships.
