The Royal Society of Biology (RSB) is a single unified voice for biology: advising Government and influencing policy; advancing education and professional development; supporting our members, and engaging and encouraging public interest in the life sciences.
The Training and Registers Officer is responsible for supporting the RSB’s overarching training agenda through administration, evaluation and development. The successful candidate will help to ensure that the objectives in the RSB business plan are met, with an emphasis on developing a comprehensive training offering to meet the needs of our members and the wider scientific community. In addition, there will be a requirement to provide administrative support to the Professional Registers and the Accreditation programme to ensure growth and high quality standards in both these important areas.
The Training and Registers Officer will join a small dedicated team, overseen by the Director responsible for Accreditation, Training and Professional Registers. This role could require UK travel, some international travel, and nights away from home.

The role:
This key role in the Trust’s staff team will be reporting to the Head of Finance & Resources. The postholder will provide practical, administrative, project-management and communications support to the CEO and Senior Leadership Team. This person will additionally take the lead on the scheduling and minuting of governance meetings both for the Trust and its trading subsidiary, and will ensure efficient and smooth communications between the Trustees, SMT and the wider team.

About the role:
In this role, you will provide essential administrative support to a specialised Cases Unit, playing a key part in its day-to-day functions. Your responsibilities will include managing and organising case documents, coordinating meetings, facilitating communication with legal teams, and assisting in casework activities. Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve the Unit's document management system to ensure efficient tracking, retrieval, and organisation of casework materials.
- Manage and update key logs, including Excel spreadsheets, to support ongoing Unit activities.
- Prepare and organise evidence bundles using the case management system, including redacting sensitive information for review by the Independent Decision-Making Body.

- Schedule and organise meetings for the Unit, including internal meetings and external sessions with stakeholders.
- Take and distribute minutes from meetings with legal advisors, barristers, and other external contacts.
- Provide general administrative support, including managing casework tasks, preparing hearing bundles, and liaising with counsel and witnesses, often under strict deadlines.
- Handle inquiries via the central mailbox, draft correspondence, and manage routine telephone inquiries.
- Process invoices and purchase orders and maintain financial records using the organisation's finance system.
- Collaborate closely with other administrative teams, particularly those supporting the Independent Decision-Making Body.
- Assist in managing incoming communications and provide general support for the Unit, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
- Provide administrative support to the Senior Case Officer, Case Officer, and Director as required.
To be considered for the role, you will have the following skills, knowledge, and experience:

Our client, a prestigious London University, is currently seeking a dynamic individual to join them as a temporary Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) Learning Technologist. The position is 35 hours per week, for 3-months in the first instance. The role offers hybrid-working, with 2-3 days per week based on-site in Central London.
Key Responsibilities for this role include:
- Supporting university staff, using a variety of TEL tools and platforms, to develop teaching and learning resources.
- Delivery of TEL resources including the university's own system, set-up and support of online assessments.
- Facilitating training and CPD for staff and students to enhance TEL skills.
- Liaising and collaborating with fellow staff to support the implementation of the departmental TEL Strategy.
- Supporting and contributing to the design, development, implementation and evaluation of TEL resources.
- Using a variety of tools such as Moodle, Turnitin, SharePoint and Office365 etc. to advise on, develop, test and maintain teaching and learning resources.
- Evaluating existing learning technologies to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Being a liaison for teaching staff and technical services.
To be considered for this position, you should possess:
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a higher education setting.
- Demonstrable, strong experience in the application of e-learning technologies in a higher education setting.
- Experience of Moodle administration including course creation, management, design/themes, user experience, LTIs, plugins and analytics.
- Good understanding of VLE associated technologies e.g. Echo360, Turnitin, MS Office 365 apps - including SharePoint and Teams.
- Strong presentation and training skills, including experience in designing and delivering content.
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using various IT systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and respond promptly to technology-enhanced learning support requests.
