The Role
Using your company van, your role will be varied and fun as you travel to different venues around your local area, setting up attractive fundraising stands, chatting with members of the public and spreading awareness about conservation, whilst generating new memberships.

About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Grants Fundraiser to join our highly successful Grants team at an exciting time for WWT.
As Grants Fundraiser you will manage a wide funder portfolio of charitable trust, statutory and Lottery grant partners, with a combined value in excess of £1M and supporting a range of high-impact and innovative programmes across the UK.
The Grants Team make a major contribution to raising critical funding for high-impact and innovative conservation, education and community-focussed programmes in the UK and internationally, raising in excess of £3M p/a. The successful candidate will help influence the development of key projects to ensure projects are aligned with strategy and create compelling funding proposals.
The role is a permanent full time position, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The role is based at our Slimbridge office and suitable for hybrid working, with around one to two days a week required in the office. Occasional travel will be required to sites or funder meetings, so a driver's licence is desirable.

Do you wish to be part of a growing and dynamic Fundraising team and support our Farming community? RABI, the leading UK farming charity, are seeking a fundraiser with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in generating income from trusts and foundations. You must be a great communicator with experience in prospect research, writing funding proposals and developing relationships with trust representatives. This is an exciting time to join RABI as we develop a strategy aimed at raising seven-figure sums in 3-4 years to support the farming community.
As part of a growing and dynamic Fundraising team, your main duties will be to research trust and foundations, create and send applications and steward relationship with current and future charitable trusts. As part of the team, you will also be involved in generating funds across various other income streams.
Key responsibilities:
- Research and identify charitable trusts which may provide future financial support to RABI whilst maximising the potential for giving from trusts with which the Charity already has a relationship.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key trust representatives.
- Prepare, submit and monitor applications to charitable trusts including the maintenance of records of applications, grant receipts and successful/failed submissions. Ensure Trusts are thanked for donations in timely fashion.
- Updating the CRM system to ensure activities, communications, donations and other important details are accurately recorded and maintained.
- Compile statistical and background research to support the development of new and existing relationships with Charitable trusts.
- Monitor trust income for Finance purposes, ensuring all donations or grants are coded appropriately, including any restrictions upon the use of the income.
- Creating monthly reports on trust income received.

- Provide general administrative and wider Fundraising team support.

About the Area Fundraiser role:
Reporting to the Fundraising Team Leader, the Area Fundraiser is the link between the Hospices and the local community it serves as well as being the face of the charity.
- You will strive to offer the best experience to our supporters.
- You will be responsible for event management.
- You will have financial targets set within an agreed expenditure budget.
- You will undertake analytical work to evaluate success of appeals, events and promotions. These will be delivered through a range of channels, including digital and virtual campaigns, across a variety of fundraising programmes.
As a member of the fundraising team, the Area Fundraiser will also work closely with the engagement, lottery, communications and donations teams to maximise income generation opportunities.
Area Fundraiser Responsibilities
- Proactively raise income from the local community including individuals, friends’ groups, corporates, community groups and schools.
- Initiate and develop innovative fundraising initiatives and events which capture the imagination of our supporters, adding diversity to community, corporate and individual fundraising.
- Engaging with and establishing new and existing relationships within the local community to encourage ongoing support and funds and increase supporter retention.

One of the oldest hospices in the country, for over 50 years St Joseph’s Hospice has been passionate about providing high-quality, professional nursing care within a peaceful, home from home environment.
"My father-in-law spent the last few weeks of his life there and the care he and his family received was second to none. Being perfectly honest when my turn comes if I am not lucky enough to die peacefully in my sleep then this is where I would want to be.".
Surrounded by 12 acres of beautiful woodland garden the hospice cares for around 200 patients, and their families, every year from across a diverse geographical area, which includes Sefton, Liverpool and West Lancashire. All of the invaluable services the hospice provides, which include bereavement services, are entirely free of charge to patients and their families despite costing around £10k per day to run, so the hospice is largely dependent on fundraised income.
We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Community & Events Fundraiser to join the ambitious and dedicated Fundraising Team at the hospice.
The Role
As a Community & Events Fundraiser you will be responsible for developing and implementing a programme of vibrant, commercially successful fundraising events. Duties will include:
- Managing community fundraising and building relationships with donors to maximise income.
- Recruiting and managing the Fundraising volunteers.
- Supporting the Income & Business Development Manager in delivering the annual objectives and targets.
- Attending third party fundraising events to offer support and promote the hospice within the community

Proven experience of fundraising and events would be ideal, however we are keen to hear from people with transferable backgrounds including volunteering, business development/ sales or account management.

We need someone to come and join us to focus on Corporate Fundraising. You’ll have a track record of fundraising which has resulted in significant donations. You will be confident establishing new and growing existing meaningful relationships and will maintain clear records of progress in our CRM (Donorfy). Working with colleagues across the organisation, you will prepare high-quality communications, proposals and pitches which demonstrate our deep understanding of young people’s needs and help us to successfully meet our fundraising goals.

Due to the requirement to be London based, this post holder can choose if they opt to recieve an additional £3,500 LLW on top of the offered annual salary. If selected, the candidate will cover the cost of travel into Embassy Gardens themselves.
This isn’t a role where you will be behind a desk every day, a good Community Fundraiser has a willingness to be out and about within your region meeting and supporting fundraisers.
