We’re looking for a Fundraising Administrator to support the Fundraising and Comms team at PTES. We have a great working environment at PTES and welcome someone who shares our passion for wildlife and want to grow our fundraising income to help wildlife have a brighter future. This person will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of fundraising administration, including supporter services, help with financial administration and data processing, and an emphasis on our online shop. 

Whether bats or beetles, hedgehogs or hammerhead sharks, we stand up for animals and their habitats. Alarmingly, in the UK almost two-thirds of species have declined in the last 50 years. Globally, around a quarter of mammals face extinction in the next three decades. This rate of loss can be stopped and that’s why People’s Trust for Endangered Species exists. For over nearly 50 years we’ve improved the outlook of endangered species in Britain and throughout the world.

Battersea has been here for dogs and cats for over 160 years, and the need for our services, expertise and impact for animals has never been greater. We provide expert care to dogs and cats who need us by rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals at our three centres across the Southeast by our c600 staff and 600 volunteers – we have cared for over 3 million vulnerable animals. We also share our knowledge and resources with animal rescue organisations around the world through our Academy and grant making Global Programmes, and campaign tirelessly to make things better for dogs and cats; sharing our expertise and educating the public and policymakers about responsible pet ownership. Since 2006, ROLDA has dedicated itself to aiding vulnerable stray animals in Romania, one of Europe s poorer nations. Our mission includes rescue, rehabilitation, sheltering, sterilisation, and education. Our EU-standard shelters, inspired by British designs, can house up to 700 stray dogs, providing them with complete veterinary care and preparation for rehoming.
We have supported over 48,000 animals and built two dog shelters and one for disabled and senior cats. Additionally, we offer small grants to six other charities in Romania and over 40 shelters in Ukraine. We primarily rehome animals in Switzerland, Sweden, and the UK. By addressing the root causes of animal homelessness through neutering programmes and educational initiatives, we have significantly reduced overpopulation, helping over 40,000 cats and dogs in Romania and Ukraine.

Job Overview:
As the Volunteer Program Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the growth and impact of ROLDA through volunteer engagement. This is a remote position that requires strategic thinking, people management skills, and a commitment to achieving our charity’s objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
Volunteer Recruitment and Management:

• Recruit, train, and oversee volunteers to support ROLDA’s various programs and initiatives.

The Role

There are over 60 million working donkeys and mules in the world, but millions are being killed every year for the inhumane donkey skin trade, leading the African Union to announce plans for a moratorium on donkey slaughter and the development of a strategy for working animals across the continent. This huge opportunity is just one way that charity and its advocacy work can change the world for donkeys and mules, giving them the protection they need and the health and welfare they deserve.

As Head of Advocacy, you will work in partnership with the Director of Advocacy & Campaigns, the CEO and other Senior Management to deliver the organisational strategy by developing inspiring advocacy plans based on clear strategy, integrated with other departments of the organisation.

Your principal duties and responsibilities will include:

• Working with the Director of Advocacy and Campaigns to design and implement an advocacy strategy to effect lasting change for donkeys and mules in line with our organisational aims.
• Building and developing networks of key stakeholders to achieve genuine change and lasting impact on the welfare of donkeys and mules.
• Representing the organisation at key stakeholder engagements, strategic high level forums and in the media, as appropriate.
• Functionally lead advocacy through the creation of a global advocacy strategy that supports teams to deliver high quality and consistent advocacy.
• Working closely with other departments to ensure advocacy integrates with other streams of the sanctuary’s work and ensure the organisation has the support and infrastructure to deliver excellent advocacy outcomes.
• Supporting advocacy needs both in team and organisationally when responding to events that are unexpected or unplanned.
•  Overall responsibility for the work, financial budget and planning of the advocacy team and line manage posts in the department, as agreed with the Director.

About You

You will have:

• Significant experience in a strategic advocacy leadership role.
• Solid experience leading teams to develop and implement effective advocacy strategies.
• Able to engage stakeholders with good communication skills, experienced in influencing governments, intergovernmental bodies and other influential partners.
• Strong experience in identifying and developing creative and engaging advocacy plans.
• A proven track record of working internationally in a functional, cross departmental leadership position.

Our expert team of canine behaviourists provide behavioural support and advice to teams within Battersea, members of the public, and the rescue organisations we work with around the world. The team design and help implement behaviour modification and training plans for dogs whilst coaching members of the canine care groups through the practical day-to-day steps. They also assist with behavioural and welfare assessments of animals who come into our centres and are on hand to help manage and provide further support with dogs with more complex behavioural needs. The team provide support to dogs during their stay at Battersea, and are also available for continued advice after rehoming.

We are now looking to recruit a Canine Behaviour and Training Advisor for our team in London. Within this role, you will work with our operational teams in the assessment and welfare of the dogs in our care and in the provision of behavioural training and advice for staff, volunteers, customers and external organisations. You will be working as part of a care group to create behaviour modification plans, support with handling difficult dogs and make recommendations, along with the individual care group, for individual dog outcomes.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

 We are seeking an experienced fundraiser with a passion for our mission to equip our organisation with the financial resources needed to meet our objectives as we work to scale our fundraising by growing our charitable income across all funding streams, maximising supporter engagement and fulfilling fundraising operational duties

This is a new role, joining a small but growing Fundraising and Events Team, and having a real input into our plans and strategies for the future. Reporting to the Head of Operations, the successful candidate will oversee most fundraising income generation activity.

The Fundraising Officer will build positive relationships to secure significant income and develop new relationships with groups, business and individuals, bringing in regular and targeted income through regular donations, fundraising campaigns and events. The ideal candidate will have fundraising experience covering several areas including Individual Giving; Fundraising Appeals/Campaigns as well as experience in managing the operational aspects of fundraising (database, compliance with codes of practice and fundraising regulations, creating fundraising campaigns and ‘asks’). Through this, you will assist the whole organisation in our commitment to showing kindness, raising self-belief, and inspiring hope for the future in the individuals we support. 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Fundraising Overview

1. Develop, deliver, and monitor a fundraising strategy for The Cinnamon Trust.
2. Maximise the contributions and connections with local business and individuals.
3. Coordinate all appeals including The Big Walk across all income and media streams.
4. Research and utilise new fundraising streams and opportunities such as Payroll Giving, Legacies (with help from The Legacy Officer), in Memory Giving and Online Giving.

Supporter Engagement and Stewardship

1. Establish systems, procedures, proactive stewardship, and an engagement programme to provide the highest levels of service to The Trust’s supporters.
2.  To be responsible for thanking all supporters and managing a supporter engagement journey – ensuring that effective processes are in place and driving levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
3.  Act as the ‘first point of call’ for all fundraising volunteers and maintaining excellent communication with supporters throughout these processes, in conjunction with other teams.
4.  Develop and implement Fundraising groups across the UK

Database Management

1. To ensure efficient, appropriate data capture and analysis for the purpose of effective stewardship, fundraising and communications.
2.  Maintain data management standards, assisting with the implementation of processes and policies ensuring best practice is followed.
3.  Train other staff members to support general fundraising.
4.  Ensure all records, fundraising data and fundraising administration is kept up to date and all information is GDPR-compliant.
5.  Reconcile fundraising income with the Finance Manager, including Gift Aid claims, missed, failed payments and Direct Debit cancellations.

 Individual Giving

1. Develop an Individual Giving and Acquisition strategy that drives growth for individual giving across multi-channel campaigns and initiatives.
2. Lead the growth of CT100 monthly giving.
3. Work with the Press and PR Manager on fundraising communication and to ensure donors are kept up to date on the difference their support makes.

Fundraising Appeals and Campaigns

1. Work alongside teams and PR and Communications Manager to promote The Cinnamon Trust.
2. Establish a corporate fundraising strategy with an accompanying narrative, alongside the PR and Communications Manager.
3. Tailor campaigns and appeals for different audiences and supporters alongside PR and Communications Manager to target corporates; smaller local businesses and individuals

Staff and Volunteers

1. Support with recruiting fundraising volunteers as appropriate.
2.  Work closely with Head of Operations and PR and Communications Manager  to ensure all fundraising is coordinated.

Wider organisational responsibilities

1. Read and adhere to all policies and procedures.
2. Lead on applications to charitable trusts or statutory bodies with support from the Head of Operations.
3. Undertake responsibilities associated with being a member of The Cinnamon Trust
4. Perform all the duties required by the post in line with The Trust’s ethos and values statement, its commitment to a policy of equal opportunity and its aim of serving the community in a caring and practical manner.

A confident and creative professional with experience in individual giving fundraising – ideally in memory giving or legacies - the successful applicant will be adept at building relationships and comfortable offering compassionate guidance to potential donors. Evidence of being a credible, clear communicator will be key and copywriting and creative design skills a huge bonus. We’re looking for a Legacy Administrator to join our Legal team, to ensure that Dogs Trust is processing gifts efficiently, playing a crucial role in the administration of this important income.

About this job:
As Legacy Administrator, you’ll:

• be the first point of contact for the Legal team, representing the charity in communications with legal professionals and the public,
• manage your own caseload of legacies, maintaining relationships with legal professionals, members of the public, and other beneficiaries to ensure income is processed swiftly,
• support with the administration of legacy data, from handling post to ensuring information is recorded accurately in the database.

About you:
To be successful in this role, you’ll need strong administration skills, with the ability to manage a varied and busy workload effectively. You’ll also need excellent communication skills, from drafting written correspondence to interacting with the public on the phone, ideally you'll have experience of having sensitive conversations as you’ll be in regular contact with bereaved family members. Attention to detail is also an essential part of this role, as well as a knowledge of Wills, Probate and Trust law. A commitment to the aims and objectives of Dogs Trust is essential.

THE ROLE

In the role of Digital Marketing Executive, you will be responsible for the day to day planning and delivery of campaigns across paid media channels - Meta, YouTube, Demand Gen, Performance Max, PPC, working to agreed budgets, targets and timeframes. The aim of the campaigns will be to drive donor recruitment and increase supporter income.

Analysing campaign results and recommending optimisations is vital to success in this role, as well as an eye for detail and a proactive approach to campaign planning, set up and monitoring.

You'll work collaboratively with creative partners to develop new creative for paid digital campaigns, from briefing, feeding back on creative and engaging internal stakeholders in the process.
