PWS is a complex genetic disorder characterised by low muscle tone and failure to thrive at birth, and later evidence of short stature, intellectual disabilities, behavioural and psychiatric challenges and impaired satiety.

IPWSO is the international umbrella body for PWS associations around the world with 47 full paying country members and contacts in over 120 countries. We are committed to supporting people with PWS and their families whatever their needs and wherever they live.

What we do

We build communities between people with Prader-Willi syndrome, their families and the professionals who support them to share knowledge and expertise and improve outcomes for people with Prader-Willi syndrome and their families everywhere.

We want everyone with Prader-Willi syndrome to get equal access to diagnosis and treatment no matter where in the world they live. We want to ensure better, more consistent outcomes for people with the syndrome and their families.

We work to ensure research into the condition works for everyone and reflects the diverse experiences and environments of those living with the syndrome around the world today.

Main purpose and scope of role

Working closely with the President and the Board of Trustees, the CEO will provide strategic vision and leadership and will strive to ensure that IPWSO delivers its charitable purposes and remains successful and sustainable.

Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not limited to)

Leadership

· Strive to ensure that the charitable purposes of IPWSO are followed and that it delivers the public benefit set out in its governing document.

· Take overall responsibility for the management and administration of IPWSO.

· Provide support and information to the Board of Trustees to enable trustees to fulfil their roles and legal responsibilities.

· Pursue close cooperation with, and accountability to, IPWSO’s members.

· Act as an ambassador for IPWSO by representing IPWSO at events and networking to build new strategic relationships.

· Keep abreast of relevant new research, treatment recommendations and service developments for people with Prader-Willi syndrome.

Governance

· Strive to ensure that IPWSO has governance systems in place that enable it to consistently fulfil its legal, statutory and regulatory responsibilities.

· Maintain awareness of risks and changes in the external environment that could affect IPWSO and advise the Board of Trustees accordingly.

· Together with the President manage complaints (including from whistle-blowers) and recommend actions to the Board of Trustees

Finance and Fundraising

· Work with the Treasurer and the Finance Committee to ensure the overall financial health and sustainability of IPWSO.

· Work with the Treasurer and the Finance Committee to prepare budgets for review by the Board of Trustees and to enable IPWSO to operate within its financial means.

· Seek to ensure that appropriate financial reports are submitted to the Charity Commission and other entities as required.

· Support the work of the Fundraising Committee and strive to ensure a sustainable income from both IPWSO members and individual, corporate, philanthropic and government donors.

· Build relationships with potential donors and prepare funding proposals.

· Seek to provide high quality support to existing donors, by means including the preparation of regular reports and updates.

· Seek out and build new income streams.

Staff, Trustee and Volunteer and Committee Support

· Provide support to staff, trustees and volunteers to enable them to carry out their duties.

· Deputise for other staff members during periods of leave.

· Conduct annual reviews with staff.

· Participate in the recruitment of new staff as required.

· Provide support and advice to IPWSO committees and conference organisers.

Project Support

· Seek to ensure that all IPWSO projects are designed and implemented in accordance with IPWSO’s mission and objectives.

Proficiency in English.

The Sophie Lancaster Foundation is a registered charity established in memory of a young woman who was tragically murdered for her distinctive gothic appearance. The Role

Your writing should shine across various platforms, whether it's website content, leaflets, or marketing emails. Besides working at your desk, you’ll also represent the Foundation at events and festivals, becoming a key member of our small team. This role is offered as a one-year contract with the potential to be made permanent and has an annual leave entitlement of 25 days per year.

Trusts and Foundations Manager

 This is a new role at the DEC and developed as a key part of the DEC’s 2024-2029 strategy. The DEC has a wide range of established relationships with trusts and foundations, many of which give 6- and 7-figure sums to DEC appeals. The Trusts & Foundations Manager will be responsible for providing excellent stewardship to our portfolio of trusts and foundations. In addition, the role will also be responsible for cultivating new relationships for the DEC through thorough research, and through the prospect development cycle, to raise money for DEC appeals. In addition to appeal fundraising, the Trusts & Foundations Manager will be responsible for delivering on a new core cost fundraising strategy, in close partnership with the Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships.

Demonstrable, transferable trusts and foundations experience and knowledge, (preferably within the humanitarian & charity sector), will hold you in good stead for this exciting new role.

Key responsibilities include:

Strategic Development: Develop and manage the trusts and foundations portfolio and create compelling proposals for future appeals and core costs income. Showcase new ideas and innovative approaches for growing and developing a pipeline of new prospects. Develop engaging stewardship plans.  

Administrative Compliance: Lead and manage, robust and professional grant management, ensuring systems and processes are fit for purpose, streamlined and accessible. Remain compliant with grant terms and conditions, ensuring you are clearly communicating the unique contours of the DEC model whilst providing comprehensive and inspiring impact reporting.

Relationship Management: Maintain regular contact and collaboration with internal teams to collate a high-quality suite of communication materials and stewardship plans specific to a trust and foundation audience. Proactively reach out and build long-lasting relationships with funders to reach ambitious fundraising targets.

Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitor, measure and evaluate progress against the DEC’s strategic goals and funds raised from trusts and foundations. Prepare regular reports for senior management and trustees on the development, progress and future strategic actions for trusts and foundations at the DEC.

The role is to provide personal administrative support to the CEO and SLT and be the first point of contact for external enquiries to the Charity; Helping to maintain high service standards, contractual obligations and to aid effective communication throughout the charity. The role covers a broad range of activities across all areas of Causeway. Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain the CEO’s schedule, appointments and travel arrangements
• Assist the CEO in collation and submission of their expense claims.
• Conduct research as required to prepare the CEO and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) for key meetings ensuring they are adequately briefed.
• Co-ordinate and arrange the fortnightly Senior Management Team (SMT) meetings and any additional SMT meetings that may be required.

Job Title: Book-Keeper/administrative responsibilities /HR

Job Purpose:

The Bookkeeping/admin role include Managing and coordinating monthly reporting, budgeting and reforecast processes. Answering the telephone, ordering stationary. Providing back office services such as accounts payable, collection of time sheets and payroll. Monitoring cash flow, petty cash handling, paying invoices, communicating with local government finance team, HR and funding application /budgets and monitoring.

Experience of working in a medium size charity and can be work as part of a team friendly cooperative.

Key Responsibilities:

Bookkeepers are responsible for several duties related to managing financial records these responsibilities may include:

· Processing payments, invoices, income and receipts and entering data into accounting software (QuickBooks online) or databases then filing hard copies

· Preparing financial statements showing organisation income and expenditure

· Paying vendor invoices and tracking bank account balances

· Completing VAT returns (if related)

· Verifying the accuracy of business accounts and alerting the management of errors

· Recording any inconsistencies to help the Accountants reconcile inaccuracies

· Developing monthly financial statements including cash flow, profit and loss and balance sheets

· Work with purchasing to enter all PO driven invoices.

Responsible for driving the growth and retention of membership at The Textile Institute (TI). Oasis Community Hub East Southampton are recruiting for an experienced Lead Youth Worker to work alongside the youth and community hub team in East Southampton.  This positive, adaptable and talented youth worker will help us to deliver detached youth work and mentoring. Supporting the development of a team and building youth leadership opportunities.

The role will be focussed on the East Southampton community surrounding Oasis Academies Mayfield and Sholing and the Harefield Hub space. Delivering detached work, alongside other partners using our Oasis Youth van; delivering mentoring in schools and supporting and developing a youth team.

The Hepatitis C Trust has developed projects nationally whereby peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training to service users and staff in drug and alcohol, hostel and homeless services, increasing hepatitis C awareness, access to testing and referral to treatment, for people living with hepatitis C.

We are looking for a passionate and skilled peer lead who has excellent communication and organisational skills. Working under the guidance of the Peer Programme Manager, this post will continue the development of the project, recruiting and coordinating peers across Cardiff and The Vale of Glamorgan. Working in partnership with hepatitis C clinical teams, drug and alcohol services and homeless service providers, the post will coordinate delivery of awareness raising workshops, hepatitis C testing with a focus on local prisons and community criminal justice settings, ensure that service users are referred and supported through hepatitis C treatment and care.

· Commission or carry out research as necessary to understand unmet need and inform plans to maximise impact.

· Further develop the giving model for Lewisham through co-design with residents and other relevant agencies and monitor and report on their impact.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

As a Social Welfare & Digital Support Adviser, you will play a key role in providing comprehensive advice, casework support, and digital support to the residents of Tower Hamlets. As a dedicated and empathetic Social Welfare Advice & Digital Support Adviser, your role will be essential in empowering individuals with complex and multiple needs, helping them navigate the intricacies of the welfare benefits system and access the financial support they deserve. Additionally, you will provide vital digital support to enable clients to manage their welfare claims online, enhancing their digital confidence and independence. Through a holistic approach that incorporates social, cultural, financial, and digital issues, you will address the diverse needs of our clients, ensuring they receive well-rounded support and are equipped to navigate the online systems essential to managing their welfare benefits.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Holistic Client Assessment and Support - Conduct detailed, confidential interviews with clients, applying a holistic approach to assess their needs for advice and support, including digital needs.
• Comprehensive Needs Assessment - Assess various aspects such as financial situation, social welfare entitlements, debt, digital literacy, and other significant issues affecting clients and their families.
• Digital Support - Provide guidance to clients in accessing and managing welfare benefit claims online. This includes assisting clients with online Universal Credit applications, managing online accounts, and building their digital skills for greater self-sufficiency.
• Advice and Casework - Provide high-quality advice and casework support on all social welfare benefits such as Universal Credit (UC), Disability Living Allowance (DLA), Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Attendance Allowance (AA), Council Tax Reduction (CTR), Discretionary Housing Payments (DHP), Carer's Allowance (CA), Housing Benefits (HB), legacy benefits and travel-related services such as blue badge/freedom passes, unemployment benefits, and other welfare benefits. This includes offering digital assistance where needed.
• Application Assistance - Assist clients in completing application forms, mandatory reconsideration, appeals, and other paperwork related to social welfare benefits, money and debt, funding, and grants, both in person and online.
• Tailored Client Support - Ensure that services are adapted to the needs of each client, considering communication, digital abilities, understanding, and vulnerabilities, while supporting their navigation through online platforms.
• Financial Advice & Support - Provide advice on income maximisation, debt management, budgeting, savings, and accessing financial support, empowering clients to achieve financial independence, including offering digital tools to help manage finances.
• Client Involvement - Through clear communication and consultation, ensure clients are involved in resolving their social welfare issues, including welfare benefits, debt, and money management, and are kept informed on the progress of their case, particularly regarding digital aspects.
• Digital Training and Confidence Building - Assist clients in developing digital skills to independently manage online claim forms, journals, and accounts, ensuring they are well-equipped to navigate online welfare systems.
• Compliance and Quality Standards - Provide advice and casework support that adheres to the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) and digital best practices.
• Digital support and Case Management - Use the Lamplight database system to organise and manage client support, including digital support case recording and compliance with LHP’s case management procedures.
• Monitoring and Evaluation - Contribute to project monitoring and evaluation by providing data on digital support & financial outcomes and also producing evaluative reports for the Advice Services Manager, focusing on digital engagement and success.
• File and Data Management - Maintain accurate digital records of client interactions and stay updated on social welfare policies, regulations, and digital support systems.
• Community Engagement and Partnerships - Liaise with local authorities, health services, and community organisations to support clients, including digital outreach and awareness-raising activities.
• To liaise with other agencies and develop strong working relationships to support clients effectively, including partnerships with GP surgeries.

· Deliver advice sessions at the LHP office, GP surgeries, and other outreach venues, raising awareness of available support services.

· Participate in borough-wide forums and activities to develop relationships with other organisations and enhance community awareness.

• Client Relations and Safeguarding - Build trustful relationships with clients, ensuring safeguarding and digital support considerations are fully met.
• Professional Conduct and Team Participation - Maintain confidentiality, adhere to equal opportunities, and observe LHP policies, including digital inclusion strategies, while participating in team meetings to share knowledge and best practices.
• Health and Safety - Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, particularly around digital workspaces and client interactions. 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. To support the Limehouse Project’s overall goals and vision.

2. Carry out day-to-day general administrative duties that are vital to the smooth running of the services and specific project-related work such as responding to letters, doing follow-up work, etc, and its online appointment sheets for LHP and external partners.

3. Attend Limehouse Project staff meetings regularly.

4. Carry out such other duties, as the LHP manager and management committee shall from time to time require.

5. Keep up-to-date by undertaking further study or training, as may be necessary or which may be required by LHP and which contributes to the provision of an effective service.
