The role of the Company Secretary involves the following key components, supported by all Trustees, staff, active volunteers and wider RUSS team:

• Overseeing the roles and activities of Board members and volunteers to ensure that RUSS is keeping in line with its responsibilities as a charitable trust
• Organising the agenda and papers for each board meeting and ensuring that those providing reports and updates do so on time
• Attending finance and audit committee meetings to ensure that financial processes including yearly audits are running on time
• Intervening when RUSS activities are not taking place in line with the RUSS Rules & Principles and making recommendations to the Board regarding how to resolve such issues
• Organising the Annual General Meeting, alongside other Trustees
• Submitting the accounts to the Financial Conduct Authority
• Organising Board away days and training, alongside other Trustees and the Chair
• Overseeing Human Resources, alongside our interim Managing Director, Trustees and the Chair
• Line management of bookkeeper and other part-time admin roles Liaising with our lenders regarding our long-term loan
• Leading the process of applying for Registered Provider of Social Housing status: research and scoping, setting up and engaging with a working group and appointing consultants, to work towards making an application in 2025.
• Liaising with our estate management company (CDS) to ensure that service charge and hot water accounts are supplied promptly and accurately

About this exciting opportunity

This multi-faceted role will see our successful candidate support the Management Team with recruitment campaigns and the central HR colleagues with our safer recruitment processes. Oasis is looking for someone who can combine an entrepreneurial flair and excellent leadership skills to become the next Community Hub Leader supporting the established Hub at North Bristol.

The Centre for Computing History is an accredited museum and charity situated in Cambridge, with collections and learning at its heart. The museum's core purpose is to increase understanding of the history of computing by exploring its social, cultural and historical impact.

Our collection rightly celebrates the incredible evolution of computing technology. However, the museum also has a responsibility to recognise the ecological impact of the rise of technology, and to date we have not explored these stories. We are excited to have secured funding from the Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund, run by the Museums Association, for an exciting new two-year project, Broken Tech : Broken Earth. Role Summary 

We're now seeking a talented, energetic and efficient Project Coordinator to oversee this exploratory project. 

The Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund, run by the Museums Association, aims to encourage participatory practice in museums, and this concept lies at the heart of this project. Participatory practice means involving visitors and communities in the creation and interpretation of museum exhibitions, programs, and events content – asking for stories about objects in the collection, rather than assuming we know what the most important stories are. This approach is inclusive, encourages visitors to feel ownership and helps museums discover untold stories about their collections.

We are looking for someone special to co-ordinate this process and exploit our unique platform to raise awareness of environmental issues and e-waste and to create change. The Project Co-ordinator will take ownership of the day-to-day operations of the Broken Earth Project, including working closely with all external and internal stakeholders, monitoring progress, and ensuring project milestones are met. This new fixed-term role is a critical part of the project and crucial to its success. 

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience: 

• Strong interest in conservation, ecology and promoting a circular economy

Responsibilities

About this job
We are looking for a driven and passionate charity retail professional who is able to realise our exciting growth plans. The MS Society is embarking on an ambitious programme of charity shop growth and the right candidate will be instrumental in making our vision a reality. We’re very excited about what MS Society Retail is going to be doing in the next 2 years.

You’ll be an experienced charity retailer, with significant experience in managing and leading a diverse team. You’ll understand the key drivers behind charity shop success and how to optimise the MS Society’s retail portfolio to deliver that success.

You’ll be a confident speaker and presenter, bringing our business plan to life and inspiring our staff and volunteers to deliver our goals.

Importantly the right person for this role will be a committed charity retail fan, excited about the whole sector and the opportunities it offers to improve the MS Society’s income and engagement with the public and MS Community.

Please note this is a fixed term contract for 2 years.

About this job

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced individual with experience in project management who also loves working directly with the people we support. The ability to communicate to a wide range of audiences and deliver the project objectives will be essential for this role.

This is a ‘time-limited’ ‘test and learn’ externally funded project. The ‘Community Connections project’ – will help people living with and affected by MS to navigate support services ensuring that they have access to the support they require, at the time of their choice, and is delivered in a way that best suits their individual needs.

This is a fixed-term project until March 2026.This is a full time role comprising of 35 hours per week.

This role is specifically focused on South West England and will require extensive travel to regions such as Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Bristol, Gloucestershire, and Wiltshire. Home working will be considered for applicants residing outside these regions.

Working closely with people affected by MS, Key external partners, our funder Wales and West Utilities, the Service and Support Team, the Cymru Director, and the wider MS Society teams. You will be outcome-focused and deliver tangible results. You will need to forge strong partnerships with key stakeholders and represent the MS Society at key meetings and events in the project area.

This role can be based anywhere in Wales but there will be an expectation of travel throughout Wales and the project area (Wales, Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Bristol, Gloucestershire, and Wiltshire), the ability to speak Welsh is desirable.
