The Head of Communications is a new senior role with leadership responsibility for:
Developing and delivering an integrated communications and engagement strategy to bring the diocesan vision, strategic plan and key programme areas to life, and build buy-in with stakeholders (e.g. parishes and congregations in the diocese) across a range of media.
Leading a digital channel refresh, designing channels (e.g. new website) and content around stakeholder needs and accessibility.
Day-to-day operational activity
- Advise senior colleagues (e.g. the Bishop, Diocesan Secretary, Archdeacons, etc) on all communications and engagement matters, contributing to the formation of relevant policies meeting diverse audience needs
- Line management of the Communications Team, lead on the preparation of the team’s annual operating plan, progress and KPI reporting, and oversee the preparation of the team’s annual budget and be accountable for all related expenditure.
- Keep up to date on best practice within the charity sector, latest communications and engagement insight, learning, and tools to future proof the digital offering.
- Build and maintain contacts with the Communications and Engagement community across the Church of England (which includes the East Midlands Communications network, the National Communications network and the teams at Church House, London and Lambeth Palace) to share good practice, skills and expertise.
- Build and maintain contacts with stakeholder partners e.g. Visit Derby, Visit Derbyshire, Peak District National Park.Lead the compilation, design, production and distribution of accessible printed, audio-visual, and digital materials.
- Take overall editorial responsibility for the development and management of all digital channel content (including the website) for internal and external audiences.
- Lead an expansion of the diocese’s and bishop’s social media presence, sourcing or developing content, sharing newsworthy information from across our diocese, and sharing impact reports.

Main purposes of job
As our Charity Account Director within the Client Services team, you will play the lead role in driving business growth across the Charity sector in line with our 4-year plan that we launched at the start of this new financial year (April 2024).
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management, leading, inspiration and coaching of our Charity Account Management team (from Senior Account Managers to Account Executives, possibly Apprentices down the line), while at the same time looking after a select number of high value Charity partners.
This responsibility will involve you being constantly immersed in the daily activity, providing on the spot advice and coaching to our team, making a concerted effort to get to know each of our clients and an expert knowledge of our portfolio of services on offer. Due to the experience and network of the successful candidate, we expect you to bring opportunities our way.

Main responsibilities
Client Strategic Influence: Will play a huge part in creating, influencing and implementing strategy for a very small number of extremely high value, lifelong clients surmounting to a multi-million pound portfolio. Without your involvement, our clients would struggle.
Inspiring, Mentoring, Coaching: We expect the successful candidate to have a huge passion for developing teams and individuals. You should gravitate towards people and be an inspirational figure that the team will want to seek knowledge and support from. You should have the ability to help integrate and intertwine individuals with their clients, making them an indispensable extension to their team.
Reporting Lead duties: All members of the Charity team will report into this role and the individual will be responsible for all aspects of people management.
Living in the Detail: With such a huge client base within the Charity sector, offering a variety of services (Merchandise, Design, Storage & Fulfilment), we expect the successful candidate to have the capacity and ambition to immerse themself in the detail, investing an incredible amount of time getting to know individual accounts and clients alike. Much of this will take place in “real life” through discussion with Account Managers and clients, though detail will also come from Synergist, our CRM platform.
Strategic Implementation: Able to support the development and implementation of commercial strategy with the aim being to accelerate the growth of Bluestep as a business and industry player. Adaptability will be required as trends and needs develop over time.
Client Relationship Management: Love & Care is central to everything we do (Net Promoter Score is a key metric that we have introduced to the business) and your philosophy must be focused around this. Our Love & Care Manager is the key to unlocking the rewards of this and a resource that must be utilised to the best of your ability. This role will require management and delegation of clients when the team are on leave.
Sales and Revenue Generation: This role will require integrated working with our Client Services Director and Marketing team to ensure that sales support is directed in the right areas at the right times. This ties in with our recruitment strategy and demands. With the candidate’s standing within the Charity community, we also expect this person to unlock significant opportunities within the sector.
Collaboration: This role works very closely with our Client Services Director, who has overall responsibility for all Client Services related activity, and our Love & Care Manager, who will underpin and support all operational and client requirements for the team. Generally, this role requires collaboration across the business in order to guarantee success.
Budget Management: Responsible for creating and monitoring annual, quarterly and monthly sales and GP margin budgets across the Charity sector by individual. Responsible for communicating and agreeing budgets across the team.
Reporting: Develop and update reporting tools that keep the team and management abreast of performance, including presentations within our fortnightly “Scrum” meetings. Prepare and present regular reports and updates to leadership.
Drive change on Industry Trends: Not only offering solutions both internally to Management and to clients in order that these are addressed, but playing a huge role in ensuring they are implemented. This person should be an influential member of the sector community.

Job Summary:
As the Director of Income Generation and Marketing, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing innovative strategies to support The Kirkwood's charitable activities. Your leadership will inspire our community, increase awareness, and enhance financial and voluntary support.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive income generation strategy aligned with The Kirkwood's goals.

- Create and nurture connections within The Kirkwood Movement to deepen engagement.

Executive:
- Partner with the Executive Team to devise and deliver strategies that ensure sustainable growth in care provision.
- Establish policy frameworks and operational methods that support strategic objectives.

- Serve as the key advocate for donors, ensuring their interests are prioritised in all activities.
- Oversee internal and external communication strategies and represent The Kirkwood in media and public events.

- Support Executive Management Team members and contribute to committee activities as needed.

Departmental:
- Support departmental leads in crafting and implementing strategies for Fundraising, Retail & Trading, Media & Marketing, Business Development, and Programme Development.
- Propose, monitor, and achieve ambitious annual budgets for income generation.
- Deliver an exceptional supporter experience that drives acquisition, retention, and maximises supporter lifetime value through stellar stewardship.
- Inspire and lead a motivated team, fostering a culture of ownership and accountability for income generation goals.
- Develop and deliver ambitious plans across the core spectrum of Income Generation activity that includes (but not limited to) legacy fundraising, individual giving, major donors and patronage, digital fundraising, retail footprint, corporate partnership development and community fundraising.

Regional Communications Manager
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on communications all-rounder with a breadth of skills to help deliver the strategic communications objectives for a national youth charity.
The charity is poised at an exciting phase of growth, with seven large scale youth centres (called Youth Zones) set to open over the next three years, a new three year organisational strategy, and an ambitious strategic communications strategy to support this in place.

Position: Regional Communications Manager

About the Role
This is a key role within the communications team that will see you create understanding and awareness between the organisation and the key local and regional audiences that matter, as the charity embarks on its biggest ever period of growth.
This role will involve managing a small portfolio of local end-to-end integrated communications and PR programmes at various stages, to launch new Youth Zones in Barnsley, Crewe, Grimsby and Preston. You will work closely with each Youth Zone’s Relationship Managers and Fundraisers, as well as its CEO, and Trustee Board, and Young People's Development Group, acting as their trusted communications advisor.
In addition, you will oversee and lead a fundraising focussed communications and marketing campaign to boost reach to new funders (who we call Founder Patrons) in the areas where there are new Youth Zones.
The breadth of this role means no two days are the same, which is why we are seeking somebody organised, dynamic and self-motivated with exceptional project management and stakeholder management skills.
About You
We will be looking for someone that can demonstrate a broad range of communications skills from working with local media to place newsworthy, positive stories around the Youth Zones development, to supporting the development of new Youth Zones websites.
If you are as confident pitching a story to media as you are managing a branding project or overseeing an event, then this could be the role for you.
There will also be opportunities to contribute to the national communications plan, working closely with the Director of Communications and Brand on several high-profile projects, including overseeing and launching the new Youth Advocates programme, working with young people across the Network.

Fundraising Software Management:
· Manage the Donorfy fundraising CRM to track donor interactions, donations, and partnerships.
· Maintain accurate records of donor activity and ensure compliance with GDPR and other data protection regulations.
· Use Donorfy’s reporting tools to analyse fundraising performance, trends, and areas for growth.
· Provide training to colleagues on how to use Donorfy effectively, if necessary.
Budget and Reporting:
· Develop and manage a fundraising budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
· Prepare regular reports on fundraising activities, income generated, and future plans for the CEO and Trustees.
General

Role Summary
The role will support the Development team to successfully raise over £3.5 million annually through fundraising, in addition to a concurrent £19.25m capital campaign. The successful candidate will efficiently manage the day to day running of The Old Vic’s individual giving scheme, reporting to the Head of Individual Giving and working with the Individual Giving Officer to implement and carry out a yearly strategic plan to retain and increase support across all levels of Membership and wider areas of giving.
Areas of responsibility
Individual Giving
- Contribute to developing a strategic plan for individual giving including Membership, small to medium sized donations across all giving channels.
- Assume responsibility for The Old Vic’s philanthropic individual giving Membership scheme, OV Together.
- Retain and increase support by delivering excellent stewardship, including delivery of benefits and events, and communication with donors.
- Generate and convert new donor prospects in order to meet and exceed agreed annual individual giving targets of c. £1.25 million to contribute to the overall Development team target.

Administration
