Wayfinder is our community led, relational homelessness programme. We're looking for a Engagement & Support Worker to join our small team and help support our participants and volunteers. 

The post requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds. The successful candidate will work as part of the Homeless Services Team to support clients across a number of our projects, with a primary focus on support our Wayfinder Participants.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with vulnerable, homeless people or disadvantaged groups. The post is a mix of practical involvement and administrative work and requires flexible working and adaptable thinking. Some evening and weekend working will be required as part of the role.

We are actively encouraging applications for this role from people with lived experience of homelessness or insecure housing.

Please note that the successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, however a previous criminal conviction will not necessarily prevent you from undertaking this role. ​

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• To provide advice and support to clients to help them stay in their property or find and secure long-term accommodation.
• To work alongside other staff and volunteers to support clients in a way that acknowledges their identity, dignity and self-worth. Engaging with them to address the issues which have contributed to their current situation.
• To deliver activities, one to one support and group sessions to clients.  
• To accompany clients to meetings with other agencies or healthcare professionals.
• To carry out dynamic risk assessments during all client interactions.
• Liaise pro-actively with social housing providers, private landlords and other housing providers on behalf of clients as required.
• To work with an appropriate and realistic number of clients as part of your own case load, as determined by your line manager.
• To adapt to working within different and varying community settings, showing flexibility and sensitivity to work alongside other staff and volunteers.
• To collect and keep accurate records, documentation and data that demonstrates impact and assists in monitoring clients’ progress. This includes providing data that supports the monitoring and evaluation of the overall performance of the charity.
• To keep up to date with the range of statutory and voluntary services established to assist adults with health, social welfare, financial, legal, housing and addiction problems and to advocate with these services on the clients’ behalf.

In this role you will;

• Lead our small but ambitious internal communications team, working closely with the Executive and Leadership teams, the wider People, Culture and Inclusion directorate and colleagues across the organisation to help develop and deliver engaging internal communications to our client-facing services and central support services teams across the organisation.
• Provide strategic leadership of internal communications in order to achieve current, and develop future internal comms goals, in line with our organisational strategy and other key organisational plans (for example, our Race Action Plan).
• Develop excellent relationships with key internal stakeholders at all levels, including Executive and Leadership teams, to meet St Mungo’s Achieving Excellence standards.

The Food Chain exists to ensure people living with HIV in London can access the nutrition they need to get well, stay well and lead healthy, independent lives. We deliver meals, groceries and formula milk, run cookery and nutrition classes, and hold twice-weekly communal meals for some of the most vulnerable and isolated people living with HIV in London.

The role

To deliver the project we are looking for an experienced Project Coordinator to provide overall coordination of the project and to lead on developing a proposal and business case for a permanent independent Renters’ Support Organisation in Southwark.

The Baobab Centre is a non-residential therapeutic community that supports young asylum seekers and refugees who have experienced human rights abuses and have sought asylum in the UK as unaccompanied minors. Our two focus areas are rehabilitation and justice.

This is a unique oppertunity for a passionate and experienced fundraiser to progress further in their career, with the freedom to creatively enhance and develop the fundraising strategy of an impactful community-based charity.

As Senior Fundraising Lead you will be Baobab’s key fundraiser and a self-starter with experience of working in a small or medium sized charity. You will lead on the development of fundraising at Baobab, exploring new avenues for funding, as well as nurturing and growing existing fundraising relationships. You will be responsible for strategising and carrying out a successful program of fundraising from small, medium and large charitable trusts and foundations to an agreed annual fundraising target. You will also assist in delivering Baobab’s individual major donor programme, helping to set up and deliver communications and events related to this income stream. There is scope to explore further fundraising activites including events, corporate and community fundraising. You will play a central role and work closely with our operations team, as well as recieving expert monthly mentoring from a senoir fundraising consultant. 

This role is for 4 or 5 days per week depending on your preference, it will include Fridays which is when staff meetings are held.

Mental Health:  All of the young people Baobab supports suffer significant mental health and developmental difficulties and many function in an unstable and more immature way than their chronological age. You will focus on delivering key fundraising activities and an exceptional experience to a wide range of supporters, ensuring that you deepen relationships and maximise value. You will also coordinate and deliver the marketing of our public fundraising activity, alongside colleagues in communications and digital engagement.

The role works across three key areas:

• Individual giving (direct marketing, regular giving, in-memory)
• Sporting events & challenges (virtual challenges, running events, our annual bespoke trek)
• Community fundraising (campaigns, community groups, ad-hoc fundraisers)

We do not expect you to have experience across all three areas.

This role is also responsible for the line management of our Fundraising Assistant, who you will help to develop in their role and ensure all tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.

Person specification

To fulfil this role, we believe you will need the following skills and experiences:

• Experience in at least one of individual giving, sporting & challenge events, or community fundraising, or transferable skills and/or experience.
• Effective communicator, able to engage and inspire others about The Eve Appeal's work.
• Strong copywriting skills with experience targeting various audiences, channels, and activities.
• Understanding of digital marketing.
• Excellent relationship building skills.
• Ability to analyse data, derive insights, and present findings to influence decision making.
• Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
• Ability to confidently use database software. Experience of Raiser’s Edge NXT is an advantage.
• Highly organised with a strong attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• A demonstrable affinity, passion, and knowledge of women’s health and gynaecological cancers.

We are looking for a highly organised and enthusiastic individual to support the management of our special purpose funds (SPFs). These funds contain charitable donations for services across Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, and can be used to support projects that benefit patients and staff, over and above what the NHS could normally provide.

Our activity in this area is increasing, and we’re looking for someone to help us maintain the highest levels of administration and stakeholder engagement. In this role you will be responsible for managing the administration of our special purpose fund operations and processes. This will include the management of special purpose fund claims, a dedicated email inbox, invoice processing, engagement with NHS staff who oversee these funds (known as fund advisers) and other ad hoc administrative tasks.

Working closely with the Fund Engagement Officer, you will be expected to manage multiple tasks and deliver to strict deadlines. You will also contribute towards the team’s wider objectives and cross departmental working. You will also be able to benefit from training and development opportunities to assist with your core responsibilities.

Ensuring our pages can be found easily by users, this role will analyse and report on performance data, including insights into user behaviour, and work with the team to make suggestions for improvements, ensuring all activity is insight-driven and audience focused. This covers end-to-end digital journeys from external sources, through the site and related platforms, and conversions and goal completions.

All of this involves excellent technical and people skills, working with a range of people at all levels, including colleagues, suppliers, partners who deliver our services, and supporters. We are looking for someone who is also very adaptable and comfortable to work in a changing environment as we develop our new digital approach, starting with a major project to transform our website.
