About Us:
Since 2006, ROLDA has dedicated itself to aiding vulnerable stray animals in Romania, one of Europe s poorer nations. Our mission includes rescue, rehabilitation, sheltering, sterilisation, and education. Our EU-standard shelters, inspired by British designs, can house up to 700 stray dogs, providing them with complete veterinary care and preparation for rehoming.
We have supported over 48,000 animals and built two dog shelters and one for disabled and senior cats. Additionally, we offer small grants to six other charities in Romania and over 40 shelters in Ukraine. We primarily rehome animals in Switzerland, Sweden, and the UK. By addressing the root causes of animal homelessness through neutering programmes and educational initiatives, we have significantly reduced overpopulation, helping over 40,000 cats and dogs in Romania and Ukraine.

Job Overview:
As the Volunteer Program Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the growth and impact of ROLDA through volunteer engagement. This is a remote position that requires strategic thinking, people management skills, and a commitment to achieving our charity’s objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
Volunteer Recruitment and Management:

• Recruit, train, and oversee volunteers to support ROLDA’s various programs and initiatives.
• Develop and maintain a volunteer database using CRM systems to track volunteer activities and engagements.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, building strong relationships with volunteers and stakeholders.
• Provide leadership and necessary resources for successful completion of volunteer initiatives.

Community Awareness and Fundraising:
 Promote community awareness about ROLDA’s mission and activities through public relations and public speaking engagements.
 Organise fundraising activities and events to support ROLDA’s financial goals.
 Collaborate with the Fundraising Manager to support income generation growth.

Operational Support:

•  Maintain effective communication with the UK and international team of ROLDA and its partners, collaborators.
• Assist in developing and implementing operational policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to volunteer management and charitable activities.

Abilities and Competencies:
 Experience in managing and maintaining CRM data.
 The ability to be self-motivated with a high level of self-discipline and motivation.
 Clear and concise communication skills.
 Experience in public relations and public speaking.
 Proficient in using digital tools and platforms for virtual collaboration and project management.
 Effective organisation and time management skills.

We have an excellent opportunity for a Head of Advocacy to join this team in this permanent, remote working role.

The Role

There are over 60 million working donkeys and mules in the world, but millions are being killed every year for the inhumane donkey skin trade, leading the African Union to announce plans for a moratorium on donkey slaughter and the development of a strategy for working animals across the continent. This huge opportunity is just one way that charity and its advocacy work can change the world for donkeys and mules, giving them the protection they need and the health and welfare they deserve.

As Head of Advocacy, you will work in partnership with the Director of Advocacy & Campaigns, the CEO and other Senior Management to deliver the organisational strategy by developing inspiring advocacy plans based on clear strategy, integrated with other departments of the organisation.

Your principal duties and responsibilities will include:

• Working with the Director of Advocacy and Campaigns to design and implement an advocacy strategy to effect lasting change for donkeys and mules in line with our organisational aims.
• Building and developing networks of key stakeholders to achieve genuine change and lasting impact on the welfare of donkeys and mules.
• Representing the organisation at key stakeholder engagements, strategic high level forums and in the media, as appropriate.
• Functionally lead advocacy through the creation of a global advocacy strategy that supports teams to deliver high quality and consistent advocacy.
• Working closely with other departments to ensure advocacy integrates with other streams of the sanctuary’s work and ensure the organisation has the support and infrastructure to deliver excellent advocacy outcomes.
• Supporting advocacy needs both in team and organisationally when responding to events that are unexpected or unplanned.
•  Overall responsibility for the work, financial budget and planning of the advocacy team and line manage posts in the department, as agreed with the Director.

About You

You will have:

• Significant experience in a strategic advocacy leadership role.
• Solid experience leading teams to develop and implement effective advocacy strategies.
• Able to engage stakeholders with good communication skills, experienced in influencing governments, intergovernmental bodies and other influential partners.
• Strong experience in identifying and developing creative and engaging advocacy plans.
• A proven track record of working internationally in a functional, cross departmental leadership position.
• Experience of integrating departmental work with other parts of an organisation and translating complex messages to a wide range of stakeholders including senior management and international colleagues.
• Experience of working with the media at a national and international level.

FUNDRAISING OFFICER - EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

 We are seeking an experienced fundraiser with a passion for our mission to equip our organisation with the financial resources needed to meet our objectives as we work to scale our fundraising by growing our charitable income across all funding streams, maximising supporter engagement and fulfilling fundraising operational duties

This is a new role, joining a small but growing Fundraising and Events Team, and having a real input into our plans and strategies for the future. Reporting to the Head of Operations, the successful candidate will oversee most fundraising income generation activity.

The Fundraising Officer will build positive relationships to secure significant income and develop new relationships with groups, business and individuals, bringing in regular and targeted income through regular donations, fundraising campaigns and events. The ideal candidate will have fundraising experience covering several areas including Individual Giving; Fundraising Appeals/Campaigns as well as experience in managing the operational aspects of fundraising (database, compliance with codes of practice and fundraising regulations, creating fundraising campaigns and ‘asks’). Through this, you will assist the whole organisation in our commitment to showing kindness, raising self-belief, and inspiring hope for the future in the individuals we support. 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Fundraising Overview

1. Develop, deliver, and monitor a fundraising strategy for The Cinnamon Trust.
2. Maximise the contributions and connections with local business and individuals.
3. Coordinate all appeals including The Big Walk across all income and media streams.
4. Research and utilise new fundraising streams and opportunities such as Payroll Giving, Legacies (with help from The Legacy Officer), in Memory Giving and Online Giving.

Supporter Engagement and Stewardship

1. Establish systems, procedures, proactive stewardship, and an engagement programme to provide the highest levels of service to The Trust’s supporters.
2.  To be responsible for thanking all supporters and managing a supporter engagement journey – ensuring that effective processes are in place and driving levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
3.  Act as the ‘first point of call’ for all fundraising volunteers and maintaining excellent communication with supporters throughout these processes, in conjunction with other teams.
4.  Develop and implement Fundraising groups across the UK

Database Management

1. To ensure efficient, appropriate data capture and analysis for the purpose of effective stewardship, fundraising and communications.
2.  Maintain data management standards, assisting with the implementation of processes and policies ensuring best practice is followed.
3.  Train other staff members to support general fundraising.
4.  Ensure all records, fundraising data and fundraising administration is kept up to date and all information is GDPR-compliant.
5.  Reconcile fundraising income with the Finance Manager, including Gift Aid claims, missed, failed payments and Direct Debit cancellations.

 Individual Giving

1. Develop an Individual Giving and Acquisition strategy that drives growth for individual giving across multi-channel campaigns and initiatives.
2. Lead the growth of CT100 monthly giving.
3. Work with the Press and PR Manager on fundraising communication and to ensure donors are kept up to date on the difference their support makes.

Fundraising Appeals and Campaigns

1. Work alongside teams and PR and Communications Manager to promote The Cinnamon Trust.
2. Establish a corporate fundraising strategy with an accompanying narrative, alongside the PR and Communications Manager.
3. Tailor campaigns and appeals for different audiences and supporters alongside PR and Communications Manager to target corporates; smaller local businesses and individuals

Staff and Volunteers

1. Support with recruiting fundraising volunteers as appropriate.
2.  Work closely with Head of Operations and PR and Communications Manager  to ensure all fundraising is coordinated.

Wider organisational responsibilities

1. Read and adhere to all policies and procedures.
2. Lead on applications to charitable trusts or statutory bodies with support from the Head of Operations.
3. Undertake responsibilities associated with being a member of The Cinnamon Trust
4. Perform all the duties required by the post in line with The Trust’s ethos and values statement, its commitment to a policy of equal opportunity and its aim of serving the community in a caring and practical manner.
5. Carry out other duties as agreed by the Chief Executive Officer.
6. In agreement with your line manager, pursue a personal programme of learning and development to enhance your skills and performance.

A confident and creative professional with experience in individual giving fundraising – ideally in memory giving or legacies - the successful applicant will be adept at building relationships and comfortable offering compassionate guidance to potential donors. Evidence of being a credible, clear communicator will be key and copywriting and creative design skills a huge bonus. We are recruiting for a new manager to lead our Legacy and In-Memory fundraising team within this department, to grow and deliver Battersea’s strategy, products and associated marketing plans. They will do this by managing the Legacy and In-Memory marketing programme to sustain and develop legacy prospects, managing the budget and operational plans for the programme, and continuing to develop the diversity of the programme through testing scalable and sustainable recruitment channels, product offerings and retention methods.

The Philanthropy and Trusts team sits within the Philanthropy, Philanthropy & Commercial (PP&C) team. Our aim is to engage and cultivate new supporters who can make a significant difference to Battersea, while also managing relationships with existing partners.

We are looking for a Philanthropy and Trusts Officer to join us. They will contribute ambitious yearly income targets across the team by managing a mid-level individual giving programme and a small trust mailing programme, managing financial data and reporting as well as supporting the Philanthropy and Trusts teams in in their wider fundraising efforts.

A key part of the British Asian Trust, Elephant Family works to protect Asia’s magnificent wildlife in the most joyful and engaging way possible. With over 20 years since its’ inception in 2003, the charity has powered over 150 projects across India, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Sumatra and Borneo. The Fundraising Manager role directly contributes to its success by building amazing relationships with globally based high-net-worth donors and corporates to secure financial support for their work across South Asia.
Key responsibilities include:

• Manage invaluable relationships with a small pool of existing major donors and corporate supporters through tailored stewardship and communication plans.
• Support the delivery of a long-term philanthropy strategy and annual operational plan to maximise income from major donors and corporate partners.
• Research prospective philanthropic and corporate supporters to develop individual cultivation strategies for each donor/prospect to move them along the ‘relationship journey’.
• Establish innovative and effective cultivation and stewardship opportunities, including working with the communications and marketing team on delivering a high value communications plan and high-profile events.
• Develop compelling Cases for Support and pitches for transformational projects and events, working closely and in alignment with our conservation programmes.
• Work with the Programmes team to identify matches between potential donors’ interests and current funding requirements, ensuring that funders’ priorities are carefully balanced with overall organisational funding needs.
• Manage relationships with event sponsors.

We’re looking for the following skills and experience:

• An ability to build and drive philanthropic programmes, with an outstanding track record of soliciting and securing significant gifts from high-net worth individuals, ideally at a 6-figure level.
• A strong track record of creating and driving high-value stewardship and communications plans.
• Experience building long term, philanthropic partnerships with both current and prospective high net worth individuals and corporates.
• Experience working with senior colleagues to grow networks, income and identify opportunities
• Experience proactively developing new major donor and corporate fundraising initiatives, including giving circles and fundraising boards.
• Exceptional relationship management skills, with the ability to communicate complex information at the highest level.
• An in-depth understanding of the expectations of high-net-worth individuals, including time management, meticulous attention to detail and the production of high quality, creative and compelling materials.
