About Us: CWA is dedicated to providing life-changing support and safe accommodation to women and children experiencing domestic abuse. We are seeking a resourceful and motivated refuge support worker to help deliver our life-saving refuge service to survivors of domestic abuse.

The Role: As the Refuge Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering tailored emotional and practical support to women and children living in our refuge. You'll work closely with a small caseload of women, helping them rebuild their lives, navigate their support plans, and move towards independent living. Your work will range from providing safety advice and emotional support to practical assistance like securing move-on housing, advocating with other agencies, and coordinating resettlement support. You’ll also ensure the smooth operation of the refuge, maintaining a safe, welcoming environment. You will be directly responsible to the Refuge Manager and will work as part of a small team which includes the Children’s Worker, Family Worker and Housekeeper.

As with everything we do, the Core Service must remain responsive to changes in the community’s advice needs, and also to how the community needs that advice to be delivered (for example the introduction of new channels or delivery points).  The post holder will therefore listen well, foster an appetite and readiness for change in our people, and be persistent.  In terms of day to day service delivery, they will thrive in the following environment (and support others to do the same); unpredictability, clients in difficult situations, multiple advice subjects, and incoming referrals arriving from different partners and channels.

About the Service

The Sexual Health project was piloted in Islington and the project has expanded and will now cover Camden, Haringey and Barnet. From late 2021, the Sexual Health project covers a further three sexual health clinics in North London and will continue to provide high-quality holistic support to survivors of sexual abuse and violence who approach the sexual health clinic. As with all Islington SASS services, the Sexual Health project is inclusive to all survivors, but this project has a specific focus on increasing the engagement for LGBTQ+ survivors.

About the Role

We are looking for a Sexual Health Independent Domestic and Sexual Violence Advocate to sit in the Islington SASS team and co-locate in a Camden Sexual Health Clinic. As a IDSVA you will provide immediate support for victim/survivors of domestic and sexual abuse attending the clinic including carrying out risk and needs assessments, safety planning and providing short-term support and onward referral. In addition, you will act as the Sexual Health lead for Solace in for Camden, providing advice and guidance to Solace staff and Sexual Health professionals.

The Sexual Health IDVAs also hold a caseload providing one-to-one support to high-risk victims/survivors at the point of crisis as well as those at standard and medium risk levels, co-ordinating multi agency support and providing practical solutions.

You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team and collaborating with external agencies in your work.

About this key role

• Experience in negotiation with partner agencies to establish links to further aims of the project

As a Support Advisor working part time or full time, you will be a fundamental part of our team, supporting the delivery of the RISE programmes and the development of the service. The service will provide a range of trauma-informed and person-centred support, focused on supporting those impacted by abuse to access education, training, employment or volunteering.

You will be responsible for providing trauma informed support through group work and 1-1 support. Working alongside a team of practitioners across our geographical patch in Wiltshire, the project aims to:

• Increase volunteers in FearFree and support people to access volunteering opportunities externally.
• Support individuals impacted by abuse to access training and employment.
• Help people access bespoke apprenticeships and internships.
• Support service users to increase and advance work related skills, such as the development of CVs, financial management and IT skills.
• Raise awareness of this agenda to a wider network.

The service will support victims of Domestic Abuse, Sexual Violence and Stalking aged 15 and above, alongside perpetrators of Domestic Abuse – empowering victims and reducing the risk of recidivism for perpetrators.

Our ideal candidate will have experience in working with vulnerable people and an understanding / experience of the Education, Training and Employment (ETE) sector. This full-time permanent role is based in south London and work alongside statutory services.

 At Future Men, through our practice-led services, we work with boys and men from childhood through to Fatherhood, to help them become healthy, dynamic, future men. From structured school programmes and youth hubs, to individual one-to-one sessions and outreach work, we provide the vital support and advocacy that changes boys and young men’s lives for the better. We focus our work with boys and men who face structural discrimination and disadvantage, including of race, income, and community.

As our Communications Coordinator you will be responsible for all-source Communications Management from a range of stakeholders. You will be a confident communicator especially via telephone and digital channels and possess the ability to adapt to a variety of communication styles. You will have experience delivering a professional service in response to enquiries and the ability to formulate bespoke correspondence. You can create insight reports from electronic data to sensitively secure client consent to share their good news stories for publication in media channels. You will support the Caseworker team in handling new enquiries and general service administration as required. You will hold a small allocation of tracing cases, since, integral to everything we do is the continual experience of working alongside our core service users with empathy and care and to join with the team in helping to bring about reconciliations.

About this key role

Our successful candidate will assess referred clients, with reference to St Giles Trust assessment practices, and produce support and risk management plans based on these assessments, promoting inter-agency collaboration in the process.  You will also deliver a holistic support service, working independently or with colleagues as the situation dictates, providing a practical service that will include social and housing support, accompanying to appointments, education, training and employment options, benefits work, and debt advice.

We will also count on you to develop and maintain relationships with referral agencies, including police, Youth Offending Teams and Young Offender Institutions, ensuring a steady flow of appropriate referrals onto the scheme, plus regional agencies, including police and social services, in areas where identified county lines activity is taking place.

What we are looking for

• To have worked on an offender-led support project, had personal experience of the criminal justice system, served a prison sentence, or still be serving a prison sentence in a prison within reach of Leeds
• Experience in negotiation with partner agencies to establish links to further aims of the project
• Experience of engaging successfully with challenging people
• A knowledge of ‘County Lines’ (drug distribution networks) and how they operate
• An understanding of the need to use support plans to enable people to successfully access accommodation and support services
• Knowledge of services for offenders and patterns of offending in Leeds borough/s
• Excellent prioritisation, interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
• A flexible, collaborative and professional approach to your work

About this vital role

Leading by example, as Senior Caseworker you will be the day-to-day expert within the team, be a positive role model to the team of caseworkers and escalate concerns to the Team Leader or Service Manager.  You will work with – and advocate for - young people and their families at risk of youth violence in residential settings and provide vital support, advice and advocacy using a strength-based approach, which will also include working through person-centred support plans designed to promote choice and control.

We will also count on you to deliver a holistic support service, working solo or with colleagues as the situation dictates, where you will provide a practical service that will include social and housing support, ETE options, benefits work, debt advice, appearing in court, and DIY work.  Ensuring, on a day-to-day basis, all monitoring information and evidence is being recorded and collated in line with agreed processes, is also a key element of this role, as is developing and maintaining strong working relationships with partner agencies.

The Greenwich Citizens Advice office is located in Woolwich, Greenwich.  The role involves advising people face to face at our Woolwich office, at outreach venues across the Borough, by telephone, email and virtually. There is the right to request some home working, once the staff have passed their probationary period.   There is also a flexi-time policy in place.
