As an experienced Debt & Welfare Benefits Adviser you will already have a background in providing effective, high-quality debt and welfare benefits advice to a wide range of clients in differing circumstance. As a Trainee you will have a basic knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting people experiencing debt and benefit problems along with some experience in an advice service or customer facing setting along with the ability and willingness to undertake training and development.
Based at our Newtown office with outreach work in other areas of the city, you will be adaptable with excellent communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to manage your own workload.
You will be joining a long established and professional Money Advice Team providing specialist advice with a holistic approach that covers all areas of debt and welfare benefit along with training to build and continually improve money management and financial capability.

About this exciting opportunity
St Giles Trust have been funded by the Ministry of Justice’s Women’s Interventions Funding to deliver a gender specific service in Coventry for women who are on the periphery of the criminal justice system. Our service will use credible lived experience staff that will position themselves across multiple ‘reachable’ moments for example, working in police stations, courts, and probation to divert women into appropriate support, activities & interventions. We follow a Trauma-Informed responsive delivery model, supporting women who have highly complex & interlinked needs to reduce and desist from future potential offending. We are looking for experienced caseworker-facilitators who will be able to identify additional and specialist learning needs and identify barriers within our female client groups. The mentor facilitators should be able to address and support across the pathways listed below whilst delivering a Healthy Relationship programme within a group setting.
What we are looking for
• Understanding of the issues faced by females involved or at risk of becoming involved in the criminal justice system.
• A knowledge and understanding of providing support, advice and advocacy to vulnerable clients and the ability to communicate this knowledge in a variety of ways.
• We would particularly welcome applications from women with lived experience or experience of working in a Mental Health/Wellbeing Service/Role as well as those with experience and understanding of working with other supportive organisations (i.e. Finance, Benefit and Debt Service).
• Ability to assess clients’ needs and provide client-led support.
• Ability to calculate risk and implement safety procedures when engaging with vulnerable female clients in the community.
• Experience delivering group work.
• An awareness or understanding of the issues raised when working with women in police custody or a similar area.

About this job
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced individual with experience in project management who also loves working directly with the people we support. The ability to communicate to a wide range of audiences and deliver the project objectives will be essential for this role.
This is a ‘time-limited’ ‘test and learn’ externally funded project. The ‘Community Connections project’ – will help people living with and affected by MS to navigate support services ensuring that they have access to the support they require, at the time of their choice, and is delivered in a way that best suits their individual needs.
This is a fixed-term project until March 2026.This is a full time role comprising of 35 hours per week.

The Hear Here Project is a community-focused initiative which involves collaboration between the Diocese, Parishes, NHS Audiology Departments and Sight for Surrey to assist those who wear an NHS-issued hearing aid with any technical issues at clinics run by trained hearing champions. The project, powered by volunteers, operates in parish churches and other community spaces, forming a key part of the diocese's "Growing Communities" strategy.
The role involves leading, managing, and ensuring the governance of Hear Here across the diocese. The Community Project Lead will work closely with volunteers, maintaining high clinic standards and fostering relationships with key partners to secure the project’s future and enhance its outreach potential.
Key Responsibilities include:
· Providing overall leadership and manage the daily activities of Hear Here.
· Promote the project across the diocese, ensuring it is recognised as a vital part of parish outreach and mission.
· Collect and analyse data from clinics for accurate and timely reporting.

About this exciting opportunity
Our successful candidate will provide operational management and effective leadership to a team of Financial Wellbeing Coaches (FWCs) and Peer Advisor volunteers employed in the delivery of one or more contracts awarded by the HMPPS to deliver Finance, Benefit and Debt (FBD) services in Wales.
We will count on you to set performance objectives and monitor progress – ensuring compliance with contractual performance indicators and quality improvement, and to monitor and manage all aspects of delivery and performance.
This key role will also involve managing partnerships, developing and maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders, and managing and coordinating allocated resources, including volunteers and spot purchase funds. Ensuring there is a safe and trusting working environment for staff and working closely with other St Giles Wise Managers to ensure consistency of approach and sharing of best practice are also key duties.
What we are looking for
- Experience of working in, or managing, services supporting challenging people
- Experience working in or managing multi-agency partnerships working towards common objectives
- Hold a relevant qualification, or be able to provide evidence of training at specialist level in money and/or welfare benefits advice
- Sound understanding of the requirements of managing a caseload
- Familiarity with relevant legislation, regulations, guidance codes of practice and industry standards
- Ability to coach and mentor staff to motivate and facilitate optimum performance Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written

Are you a proactive, flexible, and target-driven individual with a proven record of working with male adults in the criminal justice system whether in the community or in prisons? Do you have extensive recent experience of providing specialist money and/or Welfare benefit advice?
If so, St Giles Trust is looking for a collaborative Financial Wellbeing Coach to join our team, where you will be responsible for the delivery of Finance, Benefit and Debt services to referrals made by Wales Probation Service.

About this key role
As our Financial Wellbeing Coach, you will provide person-centred support to a caseload of service users who will either be serving community sentences or have been released from prison. This will involve undertaking assessment and action planning with individual service users and creating a safe and trusting environment, using trauma-informed practice to successfully facilitate a supportive and constructive relationship with service users.
We will also count on you to deliver a range of interventions to service users which contribute towards the achievement of prescribed outcomes, including group work sessions, and to work with service users flexibly, meeting and undertaking interventions in a range of locations across a wide geographical area. Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with external agencies and working towards contractual targets and outcomes within agreed timescales and in line with specified quality standards are also vital aspects of the role.
What we are looking for
• Experience of engaging successfully with challenging people, e.g., those with complex and multiple needs
• Proven record of working with partner agencies
• Evidence of training at specialist level in money and/or welfare benefits advice
• Higher level certificate in money and/or welfare benefit advice from accreditation
• The ability to assess clients’ needs and provide tailored, client-led support
• Able to work sensitively with clients applying trauma informed strategies
• Welsh Language and a full driver’s licence and access to a vehicle is desirable.

• Welsh speaker desirable
