Dementia Carers Count has an exciting opportunity for a remote role as our Communications & Digital Engagement Officer within our comms & growth team to help raise awareness of DCC.

Job Title: Communications & Digital Engagement Officer

Job purpose  

To support and deliver effective communications, including marketing and digital engagement activities, which raise awareness of Dementia Carers Count and foster connections with our community of carers, campaigners and donors. Your work will help us reach and support more carers, raise funds and campaign for changes which will ensure that no dementia carer feels isolated, invisible or alone.

Key responsibilities   

•Understand our cause, linked issues, and how these are publicly perceived 

•Horizon scan to spot social and news trends as well as potential influencer targets 

•Manage our social platforms, keeping abreast of media and public zeitgeist about our cause and related issues. You will design and deliver paid advertising campaigns and monitor, respond, share, engage, comment on posts, according to our guidelines and with responsibility for reputation management 

•Share audience insights with colleagues to ensure effective stewardship of all our defined audiences 

•Support development of media relationships. You will curate press and media lists and respond to media queries, with shared out of hours responsibility.

•Draft statements and press releases and pitch ideas for articles and features, developing copy as needed and tracking coverage 

•Support user-led story telling as part of content creation, including interviewing carers about their experiences and identifying opportunities to share carers’ voices in our materials 

•Draft website copy and develop assets for digital use and printed materials which communicate our key messages and brand and which support specific campaigns 

•Review and monitor evaluation and reporting metrics to provide regular and campaign-based management information relating to the success of digital and media activity 

•Support effective cross-organisational internal communication 

•Adhere to all relevant legislative and regulatory obligations relating to marketing, digital and communications 

•Carry out other duties commensurate with this post as requested.

You will seek opportunities to share best practice and national collaboration amongst the sites helping to ensure that NCT is offering inclusive and accessible best practice. Most importantly, you will be working to continuously make a difference for the many families in East Sussex who struggle with emotional well-being, anxiety or social isolation in pregnancy or the first two-years after childbirth.

What we are looking for:

 As Head of Technology and Digital Development you will lead the development and delivery of Technology, Digital and Data plans, ensuring a fit for purpose infrastructure that supports the organisation’s growth strategy, while continuously improving in line with new technologies.

The successful candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience of leading and managing a technology and/or digital department, with a background in developing and implementing effective technology/digital/data strategies. Experience of effective systems architecture and re-design is key, as is experience of procuring technology products and services and managing suppliers. You must also have a track record of delivering an end-user environment of more than 100 internal users and be confident in a range of cloud-based service platform providers and in managing in-house and outsourced managed services. Expert knowledge of digital and data IT security and governance requirements, including cyber security is a must, alongside experience of successfully managing departmental budgets in excess of £750k p.a.

The successful candidate will be supporting training needs analysis and managing the design, delivery and evaluation of our curriculum to ensure it supports individuals and teams. This includes the identification of external training providers and organising training events. They will be working directly with line managers to identify and implement relevant learning and development solutions for their teams and assisting with induction of new staff.

The Children’s Service are responsible for delivering services to separated refugee children. The service also leads on raising the profile of their clients and advocates on their behalf. About our Independent Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children Support Service

The focus of the Service is to offer advice and support to separated children, particularly around their asylum application, and to signpost and refer children to statutory and voluntary agencies, working with local authorities to ensure that appropriate services are provided. This service is contracted by the Home Office.

Your Main Duties and Responsibilities

We support separated children across England and part of our service is a team of staff based at the port of Dover, working 24/7 to provide a temporary safeguarding service for children arriving there, ensuring that their basic needs are met while they await transfer to the care of a local authority. The unit is reactive to the needs of clients, who may arrive at any time, and staff are expected to cover a variety of shifts.

You will be expected to:

•  Work in the best interests of the child.
• Assess the basic needs of newly arrived clients and provide an appropriate service, including food, clothing, and access to hygiene facilities.
• Recognise indicators of confusion or distress, and respond according to the needs of the situation.
• Ensure all safeguarding issues are responded to, reported and accurately recorded using the appropriate internal recording mechanisms.

As a Research Grants Manager, you will provide external researchers and host institution administrators with advice, guidance and support on Cancer Research UK's funding schemes, research policies, and grants management approach.

What will I be doing?

• Managing a portfolio of Cancer Research UK's applications and awards.

• Managing the peer review process, through the identification of appropriate referees and Expert Review Panel members.

• Reviewing the finances for each award and carrying out post-Committee meeting outcomes.

• Developing and maintaining strong and professional relationships with a network of CRUK researchers and host institution administrators; supporting grantees and applicants to manage their applications and awards.

What are you looking for?

• Strong science background, with post-graduate qualification in a relevant subject.

• A solid understanding of the UK biomedical research environment, potentially through working in or with universities/hospital trusts/biomedical charities.

• Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

• Strong planning and organisational skills, ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks, showing adaptability to meet targets and deadlines.

This role is based in our office in Rumney Police Station, Cardiff, CF3 4FD.

The purpose of this role is to provide support to victims, ensuring that South Wales Victim Focus succesfully helps people cope and recover from the effects of crime. South Wales Victim Focus serves diverse communities, many of whom experience a range of barriers that may impact on their ability to cope and recover from what they have experienced. These can include financial distress; social isolation; reduced mobility; mental and physical health issues; substance use and lack of opportunity. South Wales Victim Focus aims to identifying what matters to service users and empower them to take control of their journey.

As a Victim Care Officer you will work as part of a team providing direct support to the victims of crime ensuring they have appropriate information and resources to recover from their experiences.

You will need:
