The Difference is launching the role of an Research, Impact and Influence (RII) Officer. This role focuses on providing administrative, logistical, and operational support to colleagues in the Research, Impact and Influence (RII) team. This is the right role for an individual with good organisational skills who would like to learn on-the-job in a friendly, dynamic and ambitious organisation. 

The role works across a small directorate that includes the Impact, Influencing and Fundraising teams, giving the opportunity to get a deep understanding of what each part of the team does and how best to support them.

Areas of Responsibility

Planning and Logistics across Communications and Research: 

• Supporting event planning (e.g. managing venues, hospitality, invitations). 

• Working with our Research team to support fieldwork planning and travel.

• Working closely with our Head of Communications to develop and plan social media posts and email campaigns around our work.

• Planning and managing event logistics from round-tables with senior politicians to our annual conference IncludEd.

• Scheduling of meetings for internal team members, important external stakeholders including journalists, research participants (like our headteachers, parents, young people) and policymakers.

Tracking Press, Research and Data: 

• Ensuring we are aware of upcoming publications and events relevant to our team or community. 

• Ensuring all relevant information is logged on a database Hubspot to continue clear communication between our team and funders/ stakeholders.

• Working closely with the Impact team to manage and log collected data, and support analysis and reporting.

Fundraising Events and Stakeholder Management:

• Supporting the delivery of stewardship and engagement activities for funders and prospects including scheduling meetings, coordinating events and school visits

• Ensuring that the prospect pipeline is up to date and that actions are recorded

• Working across the Impact and Fundraising Teams to ensure fundraising reporting requirements are factored in to impact plans and providing impact and evaluation insight and stats for funder reports and applications 

• Ensuring all fundraising information is logged on our database Hubspot

This is a great opportunity for someone to join our service supporting Unpaid Carers across Lewisham. In this role, you will work closely with Primary Care Networks and GP practices to help identify and engage with Unpaid Adult Carers, Young Adult Carers and Young Carers.  

In this role, you will support GP practices to improve registration, communication, support and accessibility, promoting ‘Carer Friendly’ environments and practice that supports the wellbeing of Unpaid Carers.  

You’ll need to be able to develop effective relationships with key PCN and GP practice staff, agree action plans, establish communication pathways and provide updates. By collating and sharing successes, you will support the development of good practice across the primary healthcare system in the borough.

Applicants will need relevant personal or professional experience of working with Unpaid Carers and/or vulnerable adults or children in a social care, health, education or voluntary and community sector. You’ll need a practical understanding of barriers faced by Unpaid Carers, and an awareness of cultural differences and access to services.

Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to support people who have significant mental health issues and those from diverse ethnic backgrounds who may face barriers in accessing physical health checks. Key Responsibilities 

• Get to know and build relationships with staff within Primary Care to enable a supportive and productive referral route into and out of the service
• Work within communities and Primary Care to find out what services are available for people to access
• Build relationships with staff in Primary Care, VSCE organisations, local communities that don't access services and local community mental health teams
• Build relationships with those who are accessing the service and work in a person-centered way to find out their needs. Particularly working to engage people from diverse ethnic backgrounds
• Build an accessible route into the service for people which will lead to an increase in physical health checks and longer-term support if needed
• Be inclusive and make reasonable adjustments where necessary i.e interpreters, Easy Read literature, disability accessible buildings for meetings etc.
• Conduct basic physical health checks following robust training from health professionals 
• Support people in connecting to other services both VCSE and Primary Care
• Alert Primary Care staff and the local authority/mental health teams if there are any concerns that have not already been identified
• Signpost and refer clients to other services during and after the intervention 
• Promote health education and the service across the borough

Person Specification 

• Experience of conducting physical health checks
• Experience or working with those who have serious mental health issues 
• Experience of developing kind relationships to create a sense of belonging
• Knowledge of health literacy i.e weight management, diabetes, blood test, smoking etc.
• Experience of motivational interviewing 
• Experience of supporting people in a way which recognises and develops potential

About the role  

We are seeking a Head of Development and Partnerships to join our Senior Management Team alongside the CEO, Head of Programmes and Head of Finance and Operations.

Our small but high performing press team is looking for a Communications and Media Officer to help us raise the profile of paediatrics and child health across the UK and globally.

If you can write impactful press releases, commentary, and copy for online and print publication, we want to hear from you. In the press team you will manage media and social media opportunities, create content and will work collaboratively with policy and workforce managers, staff and our Senior Officers.

In the role you will horizon scan for key arising issues and provide support to preparing for and managing issues. Reporting to the Media Manager, you will also integrate media work with other activity in the organisation including public affairs, research, policy and campaigns.

Using your communication and report writing abilities, you will lead the collation of media coverage summaries following every report launch and campaign.

The Communications and Media Officer is a high-impact position at the College and we are looking forward to hearing from people with excellent interpersonal skills, able to influence and gain the support of others, and make recommendations for action. 

Degree qualified or with relevant professional experience, you should have experience of communications and media and have an excellent standard of written work, being able to write quality content for a range of audiences, including for the press and online.

The Membership, Policy and External Affairs Division actively promotes the membership, stakeholders and the public awareness of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) and core child health priorities.

The RCPCH sets and maintains standards for the education and training of all doctors working in paediatrics and child health in the UK. We advocate on child health issues at home and internationally. Additionally, through a variety of activities, the College influences the quality of medical practice for children in hospital and in the community.

About the role

As the lead for public involvement and community engagement, you will be instrumental in continuing the development of the infrastructure, capacity, and capability to support high-quality evidenced public health information and community engagements across the military community overseas in support of improving the populations health and reducing health inequalities.

Reporting directly to the Director of Community Healthcare Operations, you will be a member of the SSAFA Community Healthcare Operations management team, contributing to and realising the department’s strategic aims and objectives.

About the team

There are 3 SSAFA locality Community Health teams in Cyprus, each team consist of Midwives, Health Visitors, School Nurses, Community Children’s Nurses, CAMHS, Dietitian and Speech and Language Therapists. The Community Health Service is supported by a Child Consultant Psychiatrist and a Community Paediatrician who provide a peripatetic visiting service from the UK. This role works in partnership with colleagues in each locality to ensure that the messages are consistent whilst customised to support local differences.

About you

You will have a passion for public health and community engagement, with a focus on inclusivity and evidence-based research. An MSc in Public Health or an extensive understanding and experience in Public Involvement and Community Engagement and/or Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement is essential. You will have excellent knowledge of equality, diversity and inclusion for ensuring research inclusivity and a high level of decision-making and problem-solving skills. Experience in public health research is desirable.

Since 2010, Clore Social Leadership has supported over 4,000 individuals from nearly 3,000 social sector organisations. Through our transformative skills and development programmes, we empower individuals from local grassroots initiatives to global organisations to become agents of change. About Leadership Lighthouses

Leadership Lighthouses will support the development of social leaders from Black and racially minoritised communities, aiming to increase their confidence, skills, resilience and wellbeing, and ultimately, increase the impact they have with the communities they support. This national programme, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund*, follows on from a research project and a successful pilot in 2022.

Over the course of five years, we will work alongside a range of expert partners, and specialised coaches and facilitators to reach around 300 leaders, primarily through local programmes in England, in addition to national activity.

Role Description

The Racial Equity Programme Lead will be part of our talented, agile and welcoming team of 7. This is a newly established role that will be managed by the Programmes Director, and work closely with the CEO, the wider organisation and those involved in this programme, including expert collaborators, partners and a steering group. There are no line management responsibilities.

The key responsibilities of the role are to:

● Offer valuable insights and learning from the Leadership Lighthouses programme and support their integration to       ensure our organisation's work remains inclusive and impactful.

● Lead and manage the Leadership Lighthouses programme, with a collaborative approach, building strong relationships with partners and participants, actively listening and responding to their needs.

● Ensure effective deployment of resources to achieve the programme objectives and targets.

● Design and implement robust management processes to ensure good governance and successful project outcomes.

● Support delivery partners and manage the partnership relationship, ensuring consistent and high-quality work, addressing any shortcomings appropriately.

● Provide administrative support to the Steering Group.

● Anticipate and mitigate risks to ensure milestones and targets are met.

● Monitor expenditure against the programme budget, working with delivery partners to ensure optimal use of available funds.

● Collaborate with the Clore Social Marketing team and other agencies to promote the programme.

● Manage the relationship with the independent programme evaluator and implement evaluation findings as necessary.

● Provide written quarterly reports to funders, partners, and stakeholders. Offer regular verbal updates to the Programmes Director, CEO and programme partners, providing assurance around project performance.

● Manage relationships with the National Lottery Community Fund, ensuring timely and accurate responses to queries or requests for information.

All staff are expected to work independently and as part of a team, manage work to meet multiple deadlines, build effective relationships and be proficient with Google Suite, MS Office, Salesforce and online meeting tools.

Terms and working hours

We are open to discussing flexible arrangements before or on application.

● This is a five-year fixed term contract role.

● The role is to be fulfilled over a 28-hour week, ideally within our core working hours (Mon-Fri, 10am–4pm UK time), with flexibility as required.

Place of work

● This is a hybrid role with one day a week in our shared office space in London (Better Space, 127 Farringdon Road, London EC1R 3DA), the travel costs of which must be covered by the individual. We are open to discussing this arrangement further to accommodate individual needs and preferences.

● Further UK travel will be required on occasion, the costs of which would be covered by Clore Social Leadership.

Pay and benefits

● Salary for this role will be £32,000 based on 28 hours per week (£40,000 full time equivalent FTE).

● The post holder is entitled to 20 days of annual leave (25 days FTE), in addition to UK statutory holidays.

● The office is closed for one week during the winter festive period (25-31 December), providing an additional three days of annual leave in addition to the above allocation.

● You have the option to join our contributory pension scheme. The employer's contribution is 3% with a minimum employee contribution of 5%.
