Help on Your Doorstep’s Social Prescribing service supports patients referred by GP practices in the North and Central areas of Islington. The service benefits from working closely with the Connect service and our access to over 150 referral partners covering a wide range of needs and aspirations. Social Prescribing is a fast paced, patient focused environment where patients referred are supported to link into services and activities which will improve their health and wellbeing.

We are looking for candidates who are passionate about working towards a fairer society and who would relish the challenge of supporting people to overcome the personal and social barriers that stand in their way. The ideal candidates will have excellent interpersonal skills and some experience of providing personalised support to a varied caseload.

As a member of a six strong team of Social Prescribing team you will enjoy collaborating with internal colleagues and external partners in primary care and community settings to continuously improve the resident outcomes

Alongside your people skills, you will have the ability to take a methodical and organised approach to managing a caseload and completing related administrative tasks.

We are hiring a Grassroots Development Officer at BVSC on a 2 year contract. Responsible to the Funding and Development Manager, the role of Grassroots Development Officer will be to support the growth and sustainability of small voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations in Bexley. This role is funded by the VCSE Capacity Building & Infrastructure Fund 2024/2025 through the South East London Integrated Care System (SEL ICS) and aims to enhance the effectiveness of smaller, often informal groups delivering services that are both ‘by and for’ their service users that are crucial in addressing local health and wellbeing needs for the ‘under-served’ but face significant challenges in visibility and support.

The Grassroots Development Officer will be responsible for providing a wide range of organisational development support services and activities to assist grassroots VCSE organisations to develop, thrive and remain sustainable. This role is particularly interested in working with groups who deliver services to young people, the elderly, minority ethnic (global majority) and migrant groups, those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and residents in the north of the borough (areas with high deprivation and a higher proportion of small groups). 
You will be led by the VCSE sector within Bexley to ensure services are accessible, connected, consistent and to a high standard. Development work strives to build the capacity and capabilities of local groups, provide partnership/networking opportunities that enable them to carry out their own objectives effectively and offer high quality services. You will work flexibly and nimbly to provide consistent and seamless support to organisations. You will support across the whole spectrum of charity development, but focus on EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion), governance, funding, safeguarding and developing a holistic training package in a variety of formats suitable for grassroots VCS organisations.

Your responsibilities

• Advise and help people get access to available benefits and other sources of financial help and assist in completing benefits claims and maximising an individual’s income.

• Provide comprehensive advice on benefits using a variety of different mechanisms.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant external agencies, signposting where appropriate, and developing beneficial working relationships.

• Follow up claims for disability benefits and any further benefits triggered by an award.

The role can be emotionally intense at times and you should be emotionally sensitive and resilient to manage these demands. 

Essential skills and experience

• Degree educated in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 year’s experience in providing welfare benefits and money advice.
• The ability to think about and understand health related concerns within the wider context of an individual‘s life experience, family and social context.

Action for Conservation is a grassroots charity using pioneering approaches to inspire and empower young people from diverse backgrounds, between the ages of 12 and 24, to become the next generation of environmental leaders. We're looking to appoint a Senior Programmes Manager - North West (Maternity cover) to help us shape and manage our programmes for young people nationally and lead our work in the North West.

With support from your manager and in consultation with the other regional Programme Managers, you will translate our annual programme strategy into a robust cross-regional implementation plan covering both programme design and operations and make tangible improvements to enhance efficiency and impact across our regions. You will also be responsible for ensuring that our programmes are delivered as planned, to a high standard in line with best practice and cohesively across regions, and that regional objectives and targets in the North West are achieved.

The ideal candidate will be a highly capable and experienced project/programmes manager and team leader with a proven track record of motivating and supporting others to achieve the best possible outcomes for your team and your programmes. 

Key responsibilities

• Lead Action for Conservation’s work in the North West, ensuring that regional targets and objectives are achieved and supporting the expansion of our programmes and projects in line with our organisational strategy.

• Support the cross-regional planning and management of our programmes to ensure that programmes are delivered on time and to budget, to a high standard and cohesively across regions. 

• Line manage the other regional Programme Manager and the North West Programme Coordinators, providing leadership, guidance and support as needed.

We are looking for an Emotional Wellbeing Practitioner to plan, deliver and support LGBTQ+ children and young people. This role involves working with children and young people identified as requiring emotional wellbeing support through face to face, virtual and group sessions. You will provide a safe space for young people who identify as LGBTQ+, undertake assessments and include a range of evidence based interventions in your delivery. 
As an EWP practitioner you will hold a weekly caseload and work collaboratively with the LGBTQ+ Project Team and wider organisation to ensure delivery and the successful completion of funded contracts.

The service is underpinned by CYP IAPT principles and the post holder would support and assist the core aims of this in the service. 

Key Responsibilities  

Delivering services to children and young people 

• Assess the needs and strengths of children or young people who identify as LGBTQ+ and help them identify individual goals to achieve desired change 

• Use creative engaging approaches and own knowledge along with research based methods and models to meet the emotional wellbeing needs of CYP within the LGBTQ+ community 

• Plan and implement Risk Assessments for 1-1 and group based activities 

• To take responsibility for own caseload of CYP that identify as LGBTQ+ and their families some with complex and multiple needs

• To involve these CYP and their families where appropriate, in the co-production of programmes, activities and services 

• Engage with CYP within the LGBTQ+ community, both 1-1, face to face and virtual group sessions to motivate, inspire and encourage potential 

• Support in the planning and delivery of LGBTQ+ sessions, ensuring continued support is given to CYP; putting young people first, ensuring we offer the right help at the right time. 

• Work in partnership with other professionals and organisations involved with LGBTQ+ CYP where appropriate, to ensure best outcomes for CYP’s. 

• Establish appropriate professional boundaries in relationships with CYP and families 

• Provide time-limited 1:1 sessions for CYP who identify as LGBTQ+ and their families 

• Communicate with new CYP and parent referrals to ensure suitability for group or 1-1 individual support. 

• Signpost CYP to relevant support services for additional support where needed

• To apply safeguarding and child protection procedures and escalate where necessary 

Supporting with Impact, Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting 

• Use goal based outcomes and additional monitoring and evaluation tools to monitor the effectiveness and the impact of support for CYP accessing the service 

• To keep accurate records of individual engagement, evidence of change and celebrate progress with children and young people

• To provide, record and report the appropriate data to ensure support programmes can be accurately monitored and evaluated

• Support the LGBTQ+ team to monitor, evaluate and develop the project and programs to meet contractual requirements. 

• Provide written case studies as evidence of the effectiveness of individual interventions 

Personal Development/other duties 

• Keep up to date with good practice, legislation and policies that impact service delivery 

• Work as part of a team to lead and inspire collaboration across the organisation. 

• Attend and participate in team meetings and any professional training as may be identified 

• Assist with the development and progression of the service by adhering to all communication requests

BRIGHT FUTURES UK:

Bright Futures UK is the first and only charity to support young people experiencing long term illness, back into education. Working with young people from the ages of 5-24 who have both long-term physical, chronic and mental health illnesses. We work to create different educational and social programmes of support, including Tutoring, Befriending and Career Mentoring programmes. We work with some of the biggest hospital trusts not only in London but in the UK, including UCLH, Great Ormond Street.

THE JOB:

Join us as a Programme Coordinator and become an integral part of our mission to transform the lives of young people suffering from illness in education. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to develop your skills in the charity sector while contributing to various essential areas of our programme delivery, such as program administration, programme development, assistance with fundraising, partnerships and growth and volunteer coordination. You'll receive support and guidance as you grow in these responsibilities. We're seeking a dedicated individual who embodies organisation, proactivity, and a compassionate demeanor. Your role will be instrumental in helping Bright Futures UK develop and expand into a nationwide charity. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ability to swiftly assess and manage referrals which are sent to Bright Futures UK, ensuring no one falls through the cracks and every individual gets the support they need.
• Managing matching administration between young people and volunteers to set them up in their programmes.
• Managing introductions between young people and their volunteers, helping to break the ice and be a friendly face for both parties.
• Support ongoing relationships between volunteers and young people by maintaining frequent communication and gathering feedback ensuring that each program runs productively and positively.
• Assisting where needed on development projects and being creative with resource expansion.
• Helping to support the Workshop Manager where needed in the creation and development of in hospital workshops.
• Monitor and support the creation of new volunteer adverts as needed.
• Assisting and attending events, where you'll have the chance to share our mission first-hand and inspire others to join our cause

As Sexual Health Manager, you will manage a sexual health service, and a team of 5 to deliver sexual health education and prevention services.

You will work closely with the NHS, pharmacies and the community, ensuring better sexual health outcomes. The services you will oversee, will be the condom distribution scheme, the National Chlamydia Screening programme and training and education to support local schools and colleges.

As Sexual Health Manager you will

• Provide leadership and management of the education and prevention in sexual health.
• Lead, motivate and support the team to develop their knowledge and skills, as well as supporting and directing the team.
• Employ good project management skills, ensuring that all contracted services remain on track.
• Lead on the delivery of outreach in the area, to include the most vulnerable or at risk, targeting LGBTQ+ people, speakers of other languages, young people and those living in economically deprived areas.

To be successful in the role you will

• Have at least 3 years managing, leading and motivating a diverse team.
• Have experience, or degree in healthcare, heath education or youth work.
• Have experience of working within sexual health or young people's services.
• Have a thorough understanding of issues facing diverse groups of people, particularly speakers of other languages, LGBTQ+ people, woman and young people.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Insight Manager to lead the delivery of Friends of the Earth’s organisational insight. You will be responsible for developing and delivering a strategic approach that shapes and informs our activity, enabling campaigning, income generation, and marketing activity to achieve maximum impact.

This is a hands-on leadership role. Therefore, strong analytical skills are required, along with the ability to manage a team of analysts and influence strategic direction at the leadership level. We’re looking for someone with a track record of success using data to inform strategic and tactical improvements in engagement activity.

Friends of the Earth has invested in strategic data management and reporting over the last few years, resulting in a modern self-service data reporting platform using PowerBI, supported by a data warehouse. We are nearing the launch of our new Microsoft Dynamics CRM, which will enable us to better track and coordinate all our activity and strive towards continuous improvement in our work.

Key Skills and Attributes: 

The successful candidate will have a track record of success in using supporter/customer data to support offline and digital marketing segmentation and campaigns in a supporter/customer focused organisation.

You will be able to effectively lead an analytical team via proactive planning and prioritisation, with a focus on outcomes.

With excellent stakeholder management skills, you will have the ability to build strong working relationships and to influence and negotiate across the organisation and externally in a hybrid setting.

Job Description

Head of Public Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement

Role:

The ECB, which operates independently of both the industry and the Government, has a mandate to ensure fair treatment and appropriate protection for people subject to action by enforcement agents.

This is a newly created role that will play a key part in leading the organisation and driving forward the ECB's mission. The postholder will be responsible for building and delivering a comprehensive and impactful public affairs and stakeholder engagement strategy and help to lead the wider organisation as a member of the leadership team. 

The role will involve:

• Lead the ECB's Public Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement function, including line management of a small team
• Developing, owning and implementing an overall Public Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement Strategy
• Taking ownership of and delivering the ECB's Government relations strategy
• Influencing ministers, officials and MPs across government and across parliament to build strategic support for the ECB's mission and build the case for giving the ECB legal powers.
• Developing and delivering a systematic and impactful strategy and process for the ECB to build productive relationships across our wide spectrum of stakeholders (e.g. debt advice sector; enforcement industry; creditors; government departments; judiciary; other regulators etc)
• Representing the organisation/acting as spokesperson with media, at conferences and in meetings with key stakeholders
• Public Relations and Media (National, Sector and Trade) - responding to reactive media requests, developing proactive projects and campaigns, developing & maintaining relationships (with key journalists and teams across all relevant media) and media scanning
• Leading the wider organisation, as a member of the executive leadership team.

The Successful Applicant

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Proven track record of strategic leadership of public affairs and stakeholder engagement
• Experience of leading successful public affairs strategies for other organisations
• Experience delivering successful public information campaigns
• Confident managing national media requests and leveraging the national media to support organisational objectives
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Adept at managing relations with non-executive Board members
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire those you work with
