The Role
Building relationships with the fire and rescue services in your area, you’ll become an integral part of the local fire services community. You’ll join a nation-wide team of inspiring and innovative fundraisers, working collaboratively to secure the much-needed income for the Charity.

Helping to coordinate events, support fundraising initiatives and implement new ideas, you’ll support your people, stations, and offices to raise awareness of the Charity and achieve and exceed income targets, as well as working with local businesses and people to maximise our fundraising potential.

IKWRO –Women’s Rights Organisation (IKWRO) is an award-winning charity founded (as the Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation) in 2002. IKWRO is a registered charity which provides advice and support to Middle Eastern, North African and Afghan women and girls living in the UK, who have experienced, or are at risk of all forms of “honour” based abuse, including; forced marriage, child marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM), or domestic abuse.

The Fundraising Manager will play a pivotal role in advancing the bpf’s work and mission. This exciting opportunity would suit a fundraising professional with effective leadership, strategic thinking and analytical skills. Proven experience within the non-profit sector, with a broad range of fundraising skills and expertise, is essential. This role will suit someone who can roll their sleeves up and get the job done, as well as someone looking to take on a more strategic and project management role.

About the Role

We are seeking to recruit a creative and ambitious Fundraising and Communications Officer.

As our reach and impact has increased significantly in recent years, so has our income, and this new role has been created in response to that demand.  This is an exciting opportunity for a fundraiser who wants to widen, or consolidate, their knowledge and experience of fundraising, in an international context, as well as gain communications experience.

We are a very small team so the role will cover a breadth of funding streams, with a particular focus on Trusts and Foundations, High Value Donors, and Events, both special and community.  It is therefore important that you have excellent writing and interpersonal skills, and solid experience of crafting successful funding applications.  You will also need excellent planning and organisational skills.

 Key Responsibilities

• Steward, retain and grow the support of our existing donor portfolio: KHULA has an existing portfolio of donors including trusts, foundations, corporates, major donors, individual and regular givers, the majority of whom are based in the UK or South Africa. Alongside the Director of Fundraising and Communications, the post holder will be responsible for managing these relationships, including bespoke reporting for trusts and major donors and taking responsibility for their own portfolio of donors.
• Donor prospecting and new business: researching and generating new donor leads as well as acting on opportunities provided by our Board and others, converting prospects into supporters of our programmes.
• ​​External communications: working alongside the Director of Fundraising and Communications, assisting in the creation of our quarterly e-newsletter and the Annual Report, managing our social media channels, in addition to other ad hoc external communications.
• Events: supporting our community and events fundraisers and assisting with the organisation of occasional special events, alongside Board members.
• Fundraising innovation: assisting in the development of creative campaigns to increase donations/recruit lapsed donors, developing products and offerings.

Person Specification

Experience of working in a smaller charity and team is beneficial as this is a very hands-on role, covering a wide range of responsibilities.

• A proven, demonstrable track record of submitting successful funding applications.
• Experience in successfully fundraising from one or more of trusts, foundations, high value donors and corporates.

Your role

We are seeking a Senior Fundraising Leader to secure funding from diverse sources to support our program and initiatives. The ideal candidate has senior-level fundraising experience at an NGO, organisation, or charity, a strong and established network of executive relationships in major foundations, and a proven track record of identifying and closing deals in the range of 1-5 million USD. The fundraising leader will develop relationships with potential donors, identify fundraising opportunities, and manage the grant application process.

The Access to Justice Foundation is seeking a Development Officer to join us at an exciting time, as we launch new organisational and fundraising strategies. We are offering a unique opportunity to learn and apply your skills across a range of fundraising streams.

For over 38 years Teesside Hospice has been committed to changing lives across Teesside & North Yorkshire by supporting people and families who’ve been affected by a terminal illness. They provide specialist palliative care and wellbeing activities alongside grief & trauma counselling services for adults and children across the region. Helping them to make the most of every day, ensuring they receive the best possible care by creating experiences and memories that last a lifetime.

The life changing services the Hospice provides are available free of charge to the people who need them most. Despite costing over £3m a year to run, the hospice is largely dependent on fundraised income, with over half of that coming primarily from fundraising activities across Teesside and local residents via retail sales in their shops.

We are now looking for an experienced and ambitious Head of Fundraising to lead the dedicated Fundraising Team at the hospice to ensure financial sustainability of the organisation’s services.

The Role

As the Head of Fundraising, you will be responsible for leading and developing the fundraising department. Duties will include:

• Working alongside the Director of Income Generation to create, develop & deliver a fundraising strategy to support the Hospice’s new objectives
• Lead, mentor, and develop the fundraising team, setting clear objectives and providing ongoing support and training.
• Planning and overseeing the delivery of excellent stewardship of supporters to maximise donor loyalty and lifetime value.
• Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to support fundraising activities.
• Identify new fundraising opportunities and innovative approaches to diversify income streams.

The Person

We are looking for a skilled Head of Fundraising with proven experience to take this established fundraising team to the next level. You should be a flexible and resilient leader, adept at encouraging a culture of innovation within the fundraising team, fostering creativity and continuous improvement.

Bringing with you unrivalled communications skills you will be the primary point of contact for fundraising related inquiries and represent Teesside Hospice at external events and meetings. Ideally you will have the ability to nurture relationships with existing and potential supporters, creating sustainable income from multiple streams.

We are looking for someone to join our Public Fundraising Team as a Senior Challenge & Public Events Officer, to independently manage and have overall responsibility for leading on the planning and delivery of a pilot bespoke running event happening in May 2025. 

The ideal candidate will have experience of project managing large-scale events with exceptional organisational skills; developing multi-channel marketing plans; developing and delivering complex stewardship journeys, and have strong relationship management skills. 

Please note that this is an 8-month opportunity, of 21 hours per week. Due to the time-sensitive nature of planning this event, we are looking to have someone in post by mid-October. Please take this into consideration when submitting your application.
