Over the past few years, Families in Grief (FiG) has grown significantly to meet the needs of our North Devon and Torridge community. We have just completed a piece of work to expand our reach, enhance our accessibility to healthcare professionals and schools, and broaden our range of services to better support children, young people and families who have been bereaved. We are now looking for an experienced leader with a passion for making a difference to continue this work.

Our aims:

• To provide a credible and high-quality bereavement support service to all grieving families children, young people and families in need of our help.
• To better educate and support professionals who come into contact with bereaved children and young people.
• To improve family relationships after a member of the family dies, to reduce bereaved families' feelings of social isolation, to improve a child or young person’s engagement with school and the wider community for families to learn further about the impact of grief.
• To ensure all families and professionals working with families in North Devon and the Torridge area are aware of FiG’s services.

Job purpose

As a Senior Policy Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the policy influencing work of Runnymede across a wide range of areas. Your responsibilities will involve researching and developing evidence-based policy positions, drafting briefings in priority areas and supporting with policy reports, while working closely with other members of the team to contribute to organisational initiatives. A key part of this role will involve supporting the Policy Manager and Head of Policy in managing the Runnymede’s Parliamentary engagement, which includes monitoring ongoing legislation, organising Parliamentary events and managing the Secretariat for the All Party Parliamentary Group on Race and Community. 

This is a challenging position that requires strong organisational skills, an ability to navigate high-stakes environments, and a keen understanding of policy nuance within the shifting landscape of race and social justice. You will be integral to shaping and advancing Runnymede’s anti-racist agenda and will thrive on collaboration and learning in a responsive and dynamic environment.

The Forces Employment Charity is seeking a dedicated Communications Officer on a 10-month maternity leave contract to join our lively MarComms team. You will be focusing on providing both digital and traditional marketing support to the programmes that provide employment advice and guidance to UK Armed Forces veterans.

Role: You will be responsible for raising and sustaining the profile of the Forces Employment Charity’s Ex-Forces Employment programme and Veterans Support Programme, with potential and current clients, employers, and other partner organisations. The post holder will play a vital role in the marketing team and will be the first point of contact for staff from both teams.

Each comms officer has a ‘strength’ in lead of a particular area of MarComms. In this role, you will lead in-house digital content creation across the organisation. The wider team will work collaboratively with you to support production and other team members as required.

The role reports to the Marketing Manager. It is a temporary full-time position to cover a 10-month maternity leave period. It is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday and pays £28,500 Pro Rata. The successful candidate will be working on a hybrid basis with occasional travel to the headquarters in central London (an opportunity to work with the MarComms Team in the office). 

Principal Responsibilities:

· Proactively acting as the MarComms designated contact for the Ex-Forces Employment Programme and Veterans Support Programme and their communications and marketing requirements.

· Co-ordinating and producing the MarComms digital content such as vox pops for internal and external events by conducting insightful interviews, short video clips, and editing seamless productions to coordinate and produce MarComms digital content, such as vox pops, for internal and external events.

· Virtual and in-person event support.

· Supporting the Marketing Manager and coordinating the team’s contributions towards the established MarComms ‘Topic of the Month’ (TotM) framework. Align content pieces across the department, such as creating articles, social posts, newsletters, case studies, etc, to ensure the delivery of consistent messaging.

· Scheduling content on social media channels (currently X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram) using content management software. Including uploading and publishing videos onto YouTube.

· Recording, drawing and analysing insights from social media, campaign work to continually review and evaluate and adapt your output.

· Creating online and offline content, including written articles and still/motion graphics.

· Website page and post updates, working with website lead - the Head of Brand and Marketing.

· Supporting the Customer Engagement Manager with producing email newsletters and required content.

· Assisting the Head of Brand and Marketing by ensuring the correct use of the Forces Employment Charity’s brand guidelines internally and externally.

· Collaborating with external communication managers from delivery partners and stakeholders as required for joint working initiatives.

· Acting as a brand guardian for your team’s programme presentations using established brand templates, guidelines and writing style guide.

Essential Competencies:

Climate change, human rights, farmer livelihoods, women’s empowerment, pesticide reduction, and water use are some of the issues that Bonsucro works on. As our Communications and Events Manager you will be expected to create narratives on these issues and link this to Bonsucro’s work on standards and certification,  market development and collective action.

Essential criteria

• Significant prior experience in development and implementation of communications strategies and a full range of media        services, ideally in a global context
• Strong technical acumen in relation to all aspects of communications and events delivery
• Previous line-management experience and experience in managing moderate budgets

This is an exciting opportunity to join The Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) in our Governance team working on our Global activities and supporting our work in the Devolved Nations. 

The Governance team are seeking a brilliantly organised and enthusiastic self-starter to make a significant contribution to the College’s involvement in global activities. Alongside a focus on supporting planning activities, the Global and Devolved Nations Coordinator will help coordinate staff and doctors attending national and global events, liaise with our overseas partners and arrange member gatherings. A high level of cooperation and teamwork between staff members is necessary to fulfil this role’s functions effectively and efficiently.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, able to work collaboratively with external customers across time zones, colleagues and senior members.

Overview of the role

A key role in the fundraising team, responsible for providing stewardship and support to Glass Door’s event & community fundraisers, while supporting the Fundraising Manager to achieve the team’s income targets.

What you will do as part of our team

Community and Event Fundraising Support

• Build and maintain relationships with community and event fundraisers, ensuring they are supported before, during and after their events.
• Support on certain fundraising, cultivation and stewardship events, including the annual Sleep Out and the annual supporter thank you event.
• Draft copy for, update and create community and event fundraising pages on the Glass Door website and promotional emails which can be sent through the Glass Door mailing platform.
• Support with identifying new prospective community supporters and assist with the development and fulfilment of targeted approaches.
• Ensure all supporters are thanked in a timely manner after their event.
• Manage the Glass Door Christmas carol concert, working with the Communications team to promote and market the event.
• Work closely with the Communications team to:

- Encourage fundraisers to share their fundraising stories for inclusion on social media and our website.

- Plan and deliver any marketing, press and social media requirements for events

Other Fundraising Support

• Develop Glass Door’s schools giving programme, including designing engaging fundraising packs, writing successful charity of the year applications and delivering presentations and assemblies.
• Support on church fundraising, including delivering presentations to churches, attending fundraising events, promoting appeals and Glass Door events (e.g. Sleep Out) and liaising with church staff.
• Manage the process for soliciting, monitoring, thanking and recognising donations in kind, working with colleagues across the organisation.

Fundraising Administration

• Working with Finance and the Income Processing Assistant to ensure accurate and timely processing of donations, including scanning cheques, coding bank transfers and web donations, entering details in CRM database, banking cash, setting up Direct Debits, receiving in-kind donations and acknowledging/thanking donors via email or post.
• Create and update donor records on CRM, ensuring records are kept up to date, accurate and consistent at all times.

Essential

Skills

• Competent IT skills in standard Microsoft packages: Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook and supporter databases to maintain meticulous donor records and administration systems, in line with agreed protocols.
• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail, especially record-keeping and electronic filing.
• Strong written English and numeracy skills.
• Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills, professional telephone manner.
• Enthusiastic, engaging manner, with the confidence to talk to fundraisers and supporters.
• Able to relate to and work with people from a range of backgrounds.
• Excellent time management skills; able to work proactively unsupervised and use own initiative.
• Able to forward plan and schedule workflows.
• A confident self-starter who will hit the ground running.

Functional Experience

• Experience of using a fundraising database to segment and select data, produce reports and analyse information.
• Understanding and demonstrable experience of the use of social media, JustGiving and other online fundraising tools and platforms.
• Experience of basic copywriting to produce fundraising letters and other materials.

Sector Experience

• Desirable- some experience of working within a housing, homelessness or service delivery setting.
• Understanding of the issues faced by our homeless guests and wider social welfare issues.

This is a new role developed to support the CEO, The COO will be a key member of our leadership team The COO will work closely with the CEO and manage the SMT to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the charity by playing a pivotal role in overseeing various aspects of our operations, including compliance, safeguarding, operations and team management, finance, human resources, IT, and administrative functions.

About You
The post-holder will provide key support to the Policy and Diversity Manager to achieve the policy objectives set out in AMI’s strategic plan; ensuring AMI’s community are engaged on key areas of policy and aware of relevant policy developments by contributing to the AMI newsletter, website, The Microbiologist magazine, social media, other digital platforms and networking events. They would also ensure that all activities under this remit are delivered to an excellent standard, and in line with AMI’s strategy.

Candidates will have knowledge of policy structures relevant to science and technology along with excellent research and analytical skills, and the ability to grasp unfamiliar subjects and report as concise recommendations. They will have strong communications skills to communicate with a wide-ranging audience.

You will have experience of working in a policy role and excellent knowledge of health policy. A good understanding of how to use health data most effectively in the pursuit of policy ambitions, and experience of working in or with Government or Parliament would be an advantage.
