About the role:
Our Haig team is looking for a passionate and proactive Fundraising Officer to help grow our income and build strong corporate and commercial partnerships. Working closely with the Fundraising Manager and Communications team, you’ll play a key role in securing support from trusts, grants, corporates, individuals, and legacy giving. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced fundraiser ready to take on greater responsibility and drive new opportunities while nurturing existing donors.

You will:
- Act as the Trust’s Fundraising Officer, responsible to the Fundraising Manager and members of the Communications team.
- Be responsible for trust and foundation funding applications and other bids and proposals, liaising with other departments to ensure that relevant information is provided in support of bids.
- Be responsible for challenge events and in supporting those fundraising on behalf of the charity.
- Liaise internally and externally with colleagues and third parties in the pursuit of fundraising from corporate bodies, individuals (incl high net worth), the organising and execution of fundraising and other events, including logistics, risk assessments and overseeing volunteers, and in procuring branded and other marketing materials and resources.
- Assist in raising awareness of the Charity’s fundraising activities and events using social media, the website and printed materials, including their research and updating. To contribute to the charity’s printed newsletter for its beneficiaries, and other e-newsletters.
- Assist with the department’s legacy programme.
- Assist in monitoring of and the subsequent reporting to grant providers of funding received and the impact and benefit derived, including the production of beneficiary case histories.
- Working closely with the Fundraising Manager and the Communications team lead on establishing and running a new supporter/fundraising database, for which necessary training will be provided.
- Assist the Fundraising Manager with media and PR and in ensuring the maintenance of good external liaison with the media.
- Assist the Fundraising Manager in maintaining good external liaison with other Veterans charities, including the organisation and running of events that promote the charity, incl Armed Forces Day and Armistice Day.
- Oversee the charity’s Community Fund which supports its beneficiary communities, liaising with the Fundraising Manager.
To be successful, you should also have the following:
- A degree (or equivalent).
- Extensive computer literacy with experience in MS Office and digital marketing systems, together with excellent administrative, data protection, numeracy and literacy skills.
- Experience in using MS SharePoint.
- Demonstrable experience in fundraising, including from trust and grant applications, corporates, legacies, events and individuals.
- Knowledge and experience of running challenge and other events.
- Marketing and communications experience including updating websites, using social media and in the production and editing of both electronic and printed publications.
- Knowledge of the charity sector and fundraising trends in particular.
- Knowledge of/experience in the British Armed Forces (or a willingness to learn).
- Demonstrable enthusiasm for fundraising and a keenness to develop and expand your knowledge and experience in this chosen career: a problem solver, able to work to tight deadlines.
- Evidence of a proactive, collaborative & agile mindset, able to build relationships, trust & credibility with colleagues and external partners and stakeholders.

Job Purpose
The Ruth Strauss Foundation is looking to grow its fundraising team and this role will play a pivotal part in developing Individual Giving for the organisation. This role will lead the Individual Giving and Legacy programme, responsible for building the database of regular givers, introducing new campaigns and products to acquire new donors and increase retention rates and lifetime donor value.
This role will be responsible for developing a supporter centric marketing strategy generating a supporter journey which drives excellent supporter experience, creating a RSF family of donors. This role will develop products for in memory fundraising and build our legacy programme from scratch, developing a legacy fundraising strategy and subsequent comms plan and journey.

Key Responsibilities

- Produce a regular giving strategy to generate growth in income and acquisition/retention numbers
- Develop robust supporter centric supporter journey’s, feeding into a wider onward journey to increase the lifetime value of our donors
- Produce a legacy strategy to introduce legacy fundraising to RSF, growing a database of legacy pledgers through sensitive and impactful legacy marketing
- Introduction of new appeal campaigns and individual giving products to the individual giving portfolio
- Develop products to support in memory fundraising
- Utilise audience analysis and sector trends to generate compelling supporter communications, connecting to supporter motivations and interests.
Key activities
- Produce a 3 year programme strategy for Individual Giving and Legacy fundraising contributing to the ambitious growth strategy for RSF
- Project management of a year long Individual Giving communications plan and associated campaigns/products.
- Produce a marketing strategy for our individual givers which focusing on increasing the number of new donors acquired as well increasing retention, average value donated and gift aid conversions of our existing database.
- Introduce new in memory products and campaigns to support fundraisers wishing to raise funds in memory of a loved one.
- Introduce a legacy marketing strategy to grow legacy fundraising at RSF, introducing KPIs to monitor impact across pledgers and intenders
- Establish business rules for recording Individual giving data on Salesforce to ensure that future analysis of the programme is robust and reliable
- Introduce new fundraising campaigns to reach new audiences and re-engage with existing donors
- Project management and delivery of existing Individual giving campaigns
- Introduce new individual giving campaigns to the portfolio, identifying key opportunities in the year using audience understanding, aligning with RSF’s strategy
- Work closely with gift in wills organisations to grow RSF’s legacy fundraising, reaching new audiences, connecting with solicitors across the UK
- Work with the Head of Finance to develop a legacy administration process
- Budget management and post activity delivery metric analysis, ensuring a robust contingency planning process is in place
- Development of fundraising collateral in conjunction with campaigns/products
- Coordinate the marketing requirements for each activity, producing pre and post communications/marketing collateral – including working with external production companies where required
- Set up product/campaign processes including fulfilment and supporter stewardship
- Ensure all individual giving and legacy activities are compliant with fundraising code of conduct, GDPR and other IG processes/policies
- Conduct regular sector wide and competitor research to stay ahead of trends and maximiseopportunities for RSF

- Exceptional experience of managing an individual giving programme, managing a range of campaigns/products of varying size and scale including acquisition activity, warm appeals and reactivation
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills including budget management, project management and prioritisation.
- Excellent data analytical skills, able to set up processes to capture data and analyse data to ensure strategic decisions are based on audience insight and analysis
- Experience of developing plans and budgets, and reporting against financial targets and key performance indicators
- Experience working with CRM systems and project planning tools

About the Ruth Strauss Foundation

You won’t be starting the major donor programme from scratch but it’s still quite new. Fundraising is a team effort, so you will be working alongside and sharing responsibility with the Senior Fundraising Officer (SFO), who is responsible for trusts and foundations, corporate fundraising, mid-level giving and public campaigns. The CEO is also active in maintaining relationships with donors.

Job Purpose
The Director leads GARAS in its mission to support refugees and asylum seekers, with a strong commitment to their rights and well-being.
The successful candidate will be an innovative and strategic thinker, who can work with key stakeholders across Gloucestershire and West Oxfordshire to develop and deliver impactful services which navigate complex challenges. The Director is responsible for the strategic direction, financial sustainability, and overall management of the organisation, ensuring GARAS operates in accordance with its values and goals. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Development
- Provide visionary leadership to advance GARAS’s mission and strategic priorities.
- Develop, implement, and review organisational strategy in collaboration with the Board of Trustees.
- Identify and respond to emerging issues impacting refugees and asylum seekers at local, regional, and national levels.
- Build and maintain relationships with local authorities, partner organisations, donors, and community stakeholders.
Organisational and Financial Management
- Ensure the financial health and sustainability of GARAS through effective fundraising, financial planning and budgeting.
- Oversee operational policies, processes and practices to ensure the delivery of highquality, accessible services.
- Consistently review GARAS's structure, systems, policies and procedures to ensure that these are fit for purpose, compliant with all legal and regulatory requirements and reflect good practice requirements.

Team Leadership and Development
- Provide inspirational leadership, mentoring, and support to our dedicated team of staff and volunteers, fostering a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work culture and promoting continuous professional development and well-being.
- Provide direct line management to senior staff including development support, coaching, performance management and access to training, and to support senior staff and volunteers to do the same to the teams they manage.
- Ensure, through the senior staff, that all teams have robust work plans and key performance indicators in place which contribute to the achievement of GARAS’ long-term strategy and annual plans.
- Run regular all-team meetings to ensure good working practice is shared across the teams
- Work with the Trustee Board to recruit staff as required for the running of the organisation using fair and equitable systems.

Responsibilities
Relationship Building, Innovation and Proposal Development
● Undertake donor research, monitor a range of platforms for new opportunities, analyse trends in donor policies and practice, and develop strategic plans for engaging new audiences and increasing the Freedom Fund’s funding from philanthropic donors.
● Cultivate and track relationships with prospective funders, with a focus on (Ultra) High Net Worth Individuals, philanthropies, foundations and other private donors, largely based in the UK and Europe but with flexibility to work with donors based in other regions.
● Lead organizational proposal development in partnership with Programs and other Freedom Fund teams, ensuring a coordinated, tailored, professional and timely response to opportunities.
● Personally produce high-quality funding proposals, concept notes, donor collateral and other formal responses, in close consultation with the Head of Strategic Partnerships and relevant colleagues in other teams.
● Engage in direct donor discussions and where appropriate, support and facilitate discussions between donors and other staff ensuring these are well prepared and followed up.
● Support or lead group mechanisms involving donors or partners (e.g., Council of Advocates, consortium-building processes etc.)
● Collaborate closely with colleagues in the Partnerships Team to achieve common targets and objectives as set out in the fundraising strategy (including, among other things, maintaining a pipeline of prospective opportunities, and developing outreach and engagement plans for new donors).

Grant management
● Develop highly bespoke stewardship and engagement plans, ensuring the highest level of donor relationship management tailored to the specific needs and requirements of individual donors, calling on the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and other colleagues as appropriate.
● Manage day-to-day grant and donor servicing for the assigned donors, ensuring deadlines are met and donor requirements fulfilled, utilizing the support of other teams members as appropriate.
● Negotiate, review, store and track grant agreements, in coordination with relevant colleagues.
● Prepare narrative reports, based on available program data, and work with the finance team to coordinate financial reporting, ensuring compliance with donor specifications.
● Track key donor and funding data in Salesforce, and provide synthesised information for use in Board papers etc.
Internal coordination and communication
● Play a key management role in the Strategic Partnerships team, overseeing relevant task management processes, maintaining a laser-focus on our fundraising objectives.
● Build good relationships with colleagues in the Programs, Finance and Operations, and Communications teams to ensure effective information sharing, and co-ordination.
● Work closely with the Communications team in the production and dissemination of donor-relevant reports, updates and other content; and contribute to the conception and organisation of donor-facing events.
● Provide support and guidance to a competent and skilled Strategic Partnerships Manager and Strategic Partnerships Officer, providing clear direction, coaching support and positive feedback, working closely with other team members to ensure their workload is balanced.
● Collaborate effectively and proactively with other members of the Partnerships team, including providing support and guidance to less-experienced team members.
External Communications
● Support the WMT members, including Head of Strategic Partnerships, MD of External Relations, and CEO by preparing research, briefings, talking points and presentations for speaking engagements, meetings and events.
● Subject to available time and capacity, the SSPM may be asked to produce written content for other Freedom Fund products and processes.
● Collaborate with the Communications Team to support executive positioning and donor-audience messaging, including conference session proposals, Op-Eds, and other external communications.
● In collaboration with the Head of Strategic Partnerships, manage and cultivate non-funding relationships with partners such as institutions and peer organisations, including representing the Freedom Fund in funder coalitions / groups.
● Represent and speak on behalf of the Freedom Fund at conferences and events.
● Collaborate with colleagues from various departments to write, produce and update collateral material.
Qualifications and experience
Essential

ROLE PURPOSE
The Fundraising Officer will be a vital member of the Mass Fundraising team, responsible for supporting all activity across Community and Events. They will be instrumental in supporting the Community and Events team to achieve our income targets and grow Community & Events from £400,000 to £550,000 over the next five years and by 29/30.
This role will focus on providing exceptional stewardship, delivering a calendar of community and events fundraising, and ensuring accurate data management to enhance donor engagement. Working with the Community and Events Manager you will be responsible for marketing our fundraising challenge events to ensure they provide a positive ROI. You will be a key point of contact for 200+ fundraisers who take part in fundraising events each year, as well as develop our community income stream proactively securing 10+ partnerships with local businesses/schools.
The ideal candidate will cultivate long-lasting relationships with individual supporters, promote fundraising opportunities, and help deliver impactful events, all while maintaining the highest standards of stewardship.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Events Fundraising
- Assist in the planning and execution of a diverse range of fundraising events, including challenge events and community initiatives.
- Support the management of event logistics, including participant communication, volunteer coordination, and on-the-day activities.
- Work with the Community and Events Manager to ensure a minimum 3:1 Return On Investment for challenge event fundraisers.
- Collaborate with external partners and suppliers to ensure smooth event operations and build strong relationships for future collaboration.
Community Fundraising

- Process cash and cheque donations for Community & Events income, including ensuring this income is processed and recorded accurately on our database which may include batch uploads.
- Provide front desk coverage, welcoming visitors and donors at the Welcome Office and serving as a friendly and helpful representative of the organisation for 2-3 days/week.
- Maintain accurate records in our CRM (Raiser’s Edge) to track communications, income, and supporter preferences, ensuring compliance with GDPR and data protection laws.
- Continuously evaluate and suggest improvements to the supporter journey, aiming to enhance retention and engagement.
Administrative and Financial Support
- Process incoming donations and ensure timely acknowledgment and thank-you communications to all supporters.
- Work closely with the finance and data teams to reconcile donations, maintain accurate records, and support budget management for community and event fundraising activities.
- Assist in developing and adhering to fundraising budgets, tracking income, and ensuring effective expenditure management.
Marketing and Communication
- Create engaging materials and content to inspire participation in fundraising activities and distribute these to potential supporters. This could include posters, social media posts, newsletters.
- Ensure Community and Events associated webpages are kept up to date.
Other Requirements

We’re looking for a part-time Grants and Trusts Officer (2.5 days a week). Office or home based, they will be a vital member of our fundraising team, working closely with programme staff and the CEO to continue to grow grant funding for our work – shaping funding bids, managing grants and reporting, and building relationships with funders and funding networks.
Purpose of role:
Increasing and diversifying the sources of grant funding for A Rocha UK’s work is key to our fundraising strategy. The Grants and Trusts Offi cer will play a key role identifying, securing, and managing grants from a range of sources, including small trusts, large foundations, and Church denominations. In doing so, they will work closely with programme staff , CEO and Finance Director to develop funding bids, and coordinate closely with other members of the fundraising team, such as the Major Donor Offi cer. They will also manage occasional legacies.
