- Build & Nurture Relationships – Take ownership of a warm and active pipeline of philanthropists, cultivating relationships with existing and prospective major donors.

The Team
The Samaritans Ireland team includes specialists within Policy, Safeguarding, Finance, Helpline and Communications. The team is friendly, collaborative and supportive. We’re busy working on our ambitious Strategic Delivery Plan for 2022–27, with the aim of maximising support for our beneficiaries and volunteers. The charity provides accommodation and services across Birmingham and London; however, the charity’s office is in central Birmingham. The Head of Finance and Corporate Services is a newly created role and will be responsible for the internal operations of the company. This involves overseeing the finance, human resources, IT and compliance functions. You will take an administrative role in ensuring policies are effective, consistent and in-line with the intentions of the company. As a key member of the Senior Management Team the Head of Finance and Corporate Services will work closely with, and report to the Director of Services to develop informed strategy and strong governance. - Proactively work with the Director of Services to develop funding bids and tenders
- Monitor and evaluate activities within the business through the development and delivery of effective service monitoring and evaluation tools; respond to and correct issues, identify and follow up opportunities, alert to potential adverse events
- Responsible for overseeing the external IT contract, monitoring effectiveness and continued return on investment
- Work with the Senior Management Team and the Board of Trustees to ensure good governance for the charity
- Ensure relevant statutory, regulatory, and professional standards are wholly achieved in relation to policies, processes and procedures, particularly in respect of finance, governance, employment legislation and IT functions.
The post is part of the Senior Leadership (SLT) team, and you will manage a settled team of 2 including a fully qualified Finance Manager and an HR Manager. Much of the IT is outsourced.
The role would be best suited for a fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CIPFA) with prior experience in a similar senior level finance role within the charity sector. You will be expected to demonstrate strategic ability around financial planning and contract monitoring and be able to provide a top-level overview of how the organisation structures its corporate services functions moving forwards. A strong knowledge of charity finance – contracts and restricted funds is required, and experience in a similarly broad role covering other areas of corporate services such as HR and IT would be a big advantage.

ROLE PURPOSE
The Community and Events Fundraising Manager will be a vital member of the Mass Fundraising team, responsible for leading activity across Community and Events. They will be instrumental in driving the Community and Events team to achieve our income targets and grow Community & Events from £400,000 to £550,000 over the next five years and by 29/30.
This role will focus on identifying and nurturing impactful fundraising relationships, providing exceptional stewardship and delivering a calendar of community and events fundraising. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning & Delivery
- Develop and implement the community and events fundraising strategy in line with KPIs and budgets set out in the annual business plan and fundraising strategy.
- Lead on the day-to-day management of the community and events fundraising plan to increase net income and supporter numbers.
- Monitor community and events activities to ensure compliance with fundraising guidelines and promote best practice.
Fundraising Development
- Work with the Head of Mass Fundraising to develop the community and events portfolio, including the development of new products, with the aim to achieve significant and sustainable growth of unrestricted income.
- Identify and cultivate relationships in the local community to generate new income from audiences including schools, community groups, local corporates, and mid-high value individual fundraisers.
- Work closely with the communications team to effectively market community and challenge events fundraising to grow supporter numbers and income.

- Continually develop community and events supporter journeys to give our fundraisers a memorable and meaningful experience fundraising for St George’s Hospital Charity and encourage repeat fundraising.

Financial Management
- Prepare, monitor and manage income and expenditure budgets and reforecasts.

We seek an experienced Business Development Manager to drive our UK growth and expand our client and partner base. Reporting directly to the CEO, (initially) you will lead our sales strategy targeting UK businesses, with a particular focus on small and medium businesses, and public sector organisations.
With a proven track record in generating revenue through outbound marketing, online channels and relationship-building, as well as developing new revenue-generating business models, you will be hands-on in driving our B2B sales, securing over £150,000 annually through direct sales, grants, tenders, contracts and partnerships. You will also contribute to developing engaging communications to support The Human Edge's financial growth and brand development.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute the sales growth strategy aligned with organisational goals
- Proactively identify and ensure new business opportunities, partnerships and collaboration
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with HR/talent leaders, MDs and decision-makers in UK businesses and/or public sector organisations

About you
You are a commercially minded, results-driven and action-oriented business development professional with 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in B2B sales and income generation within the leadership development, coaching, and mentoring and skill building/training sectors. Skilled in securing new business, developing growth strategies and building long-term client relationships, you leverage your established network of HR/talent leaders and Managing Directors in UK businesses, with a particular focus on small and medium businesses, and/or public sector to enable consistent revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities
As part of the PBA Finance Team and leading the team, the Financial Advisor plays a critical role in maintaining the financial health of PBA, offering strategic advice, ensuring compliance, and overseeing day-to-day financial operations. The Financial Advisor works closely with PBA’s Accounts administrator.
Key responsibilities are:
- Work with the core team on the annual Business Planning process and help devise and produce the annual Budget.
- Assist in the compilation and analysis of the Approval and circulation of monthly /quarterly financial and management accounts, including a brief narrative report.
- Offer high level advice and guidance in support of and to help achieve the targets set out in the Business Plan.
- Act as one Authorised Signatory on all bank accounts and manage relationships with external financial institutions and banking partners.
- Oversee and liaise with auditors for the annual audit and other matters as required from time to time.
- Ensure VAT compliance and reporting.
- Be familiar with the cover afforded by all insurance policies and provide information on matters that may affect cover. Ensure appropriate insurance policies are in place and up to date.

Main purpose of the job
The role leads on the delivery of Bond’s corporate and CEO level events. This role is managed by the Head of Communications but also works with the corporate and marketing team, the Director of Membership and Communications and CEO.
The primary focus of this role is to manage and deliver high-quality events for Bond’s corporate partners to help them reach their target audiences, and to deliver high level events for CEOs and senior leaders across our network to help provide senior leaders with the support and skills needed to provide effective and supportive leadership.
Main responsibilities
Corporate events:
- Manage and deliver a range of events to fulfil contractual commitments with corporate partners and ensuring they meet high-quality standards.
- Oversee the successful execution and promotion of both hybrid and face-to-face events across various locations including potential European venues.
- Steward corporate partners in refining event ideas to align with Bond's audience and sector needs.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to meet partner expectations and contribute to revenue generation. Provide effective project management, overseeing all stages of event planning, execution, and evaluation.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with corporate partners to ensure long-term collaboration and mutual success.
CEO events:
- Deliver events or half day events for CEOs and senior leaders within our network, ensuring high quality execution.
- Coordinate logistics, including speaker liaison, invitations, venue sourcing, and event planning for CEO events throughout the year.
- Work with data to track attendance and use insights to drive participation and improve future events.

Special projects:
- Coordinate special one-off projects and events as required by members or donors, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
General
- Ensure the successful delivery of Bond corporate and CEO events both online and in person, where appropriate.
- Oversee events logistics, including working with any contractors, external booking systems and digital platforms.
- Develop and maintain the Bond corporate and CEO events schedule and ensure that project timelines are adhered to.
- Liaise with speakers and ensure that speakers are successfully briefed
- Support the uploading and editing of digital content, including sessions and speaker details on the Bond website. Research and scope venues, platforms and tools for in-person, online and hybrid events

- Advise the corporate partnerships team on the successful delivery of webinars.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with event delivery, including changes in corporate needs or unexpected challenges.
- Ensure events comply with budgetary constraints, legal, insurance, health, and safety obligations. Maintain a portfolio of venues (both free and paid-for) that Bond can use when an in-person event is required.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate would:
- Have at least 2 years’ experience of events organisation and management in a similar or comparable setting
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with corporate event sponsors or delivering paid for events
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with sponsors, event partners and participants.
- Be able to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and manage relationships with Bond’s network of members.
- Have a good understanding of how events can generate income
- Be entrepreneurial and flexible, with the ability to identify potential opportunities and partners.
- Be highly organised – able to plan, prioritise and deliver to tight timescales and to manage both strategic and reactive projects effectively.
- Have a high degree of IT competence.
