Outline of service:

Gaddum and Manchester Mind have come together to provide a new and innovative service which will support people to leave inpatient mental health settings and return to their community with the support they need to recover and remain well.

As a team, we will deliver psycho-social interventions, advocacy, housing and welfare rights advice and peer support. There will also be tailored support to young people (those under the age of 25). All we do is underpinned by listening and ensuring people feel heard – because we know that when people are listened to, they recover. The team will be working with colleagues within the mental health, primary care, inpatient and community sectors.

Job summary:

As a Peer Support Worker, you will have lived or living experience of receiving mental health care or treatment. As an ‘Expert by Experience’ you will support peers (people with similar experiences to your own) who are ready to leave hospital after being treated for their mental health needs. Receiving support from your colleagues, you’ll develop and manage your casework practice and hold a small case load.

Walking alongside people prior to discharge from mental health hospital, you’ll support people in the discharge process to get the care they need, and then into a community setting where they can continue to recover and begin to explore their aspirations. Ultimately, people will feel connected to their communities – to the right services, friends and family.

This role will work with a small but intensive caseload (max 12 cases for a full-time peer support worker) to focus on:

· Repatriate: when people are sent to an out of area placement (OAPs) advocate to get them back to Greater Manchester so they can recover in their community.

· Discharge: Supporting people when they’re ready to be discharged from inpatient mental health services to get back to the community and recover.

· Prevent re-admissions: Work with people, post-discharge, to ensure they continue to get the support they need to make informed choices, stay well and ultimately thrive.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

· To provide bespoke support to people that are ready to be discharged from inpatient psychiatric care to return to the community, building (with support) packages of care so they have a positive and sustained recovery.

· To work alongside people post-discharge, in their community setting (e.g. home or supported accommodation) to ensure they get what they need to stay well.

· To effectively manage a small but intensive caseload (max 12 cases for a full time worker), being flexible to people’s needs and short-term changes in schedule.

· To work in a person-centred, trauma informed, empowering and culturally appropriate way that enables people to feel listened to and heard.

· To help people engage with services and make sustainable links with their communities.

· To use and develop your knowledge of community care, policies, legislation and services to get people the support they need to recover and stay well.

· Identify when cases need escalation or onward referral and keep your line manager aware of case developments.

· Independently visit people in inpatient and community settings in Manchester and across Greater Manchester, adhering to lone working and risk management procedures.

· Occasionally visit people out of the Greater Manchester area who need to return to their community in Manchester (all travel expenses will be paid and non-commute travel time will be part of your working day).

· Build relationships with colleagues within services (e.g. inpatient staff, social care, CMHTs etc) to enable improved collaborative working

· Take part in multi-disciplinary meetings, representing the views of people, and their aspirations on returning to community settings.

· Support the development of this new service, drawing on your role as an ‘Expert by Experience’ and using what you hear from the people you support to contribute to the development of the services by reviewing and contributing to improvements.

The post holder will be required to undertake other tasks as reasonably directed by the Programme Management and Senior Management Team, which will usually be commensurate with the skills and experience of the post-holder.

All staff aree expected to work within all Gaddum / Manchester Mind policies and procedures. This role is subject to a standard DBS check.

Do you want to work with a multiple charity of the year winner? We are FoodCycle, and our vision is to make food poverty, loneliness and food waste a thing of the past for every community.

FoodCycle is all about tackling food poverty and social isolation through connecting communities over a delicious plate of food. This role is an exciting opportunity to help support the mission of the charity through a programme of income-generating corporate cooking challenges. We have been running these successfully in London for several years (and also launched in Birmingham last year) and are now looking to scale up our programme.

You will need to be able to confidently lead our corporate Food Invention Challenges, which take place at Mission Kitchen, Vauxhall. You will be customer service oriented, with effective communication and interpersonal skills. When not running Food Invention Challenges, you will provide administrative support for the Fundraising Team. As this role is based fully at our headquarters in the Food Exchange, you will need to live within a one hour commute of Vauxhall, London.

Our service is delivered through a mix of telephone, digital communications, and face-to-face appointments at community locations, making it perfectly suited to hybrid working. Reasonable targets are set, recognising the complex nature of our clients' casework and advice needs, ensuring you can use your professional expertise to achieve the best possible outcomes for those we serve.​​

If you are an experienced debt adviser who can confidently provide complex debt advice and ongoing casework we would love to hear from you.​

Being an approved DRO intermediary and holding the IMA Certificate of Money Advice Practice (CertMAP) is desirable. If not, we can support your ongoing professional development. ​​

Alternatively, this role is also available as a trainee position. They will play a dual role supporting delivery of two key parts of FPM’s education activities:

· Examinations - FPM sets the curricula for and runs a number of examinations. They include the Diploma in Pharmaceutical Medicine, successful completion of which is a defining moment in the career of any pharmaceutical physician, and a keystone of FPM membership. It affirms their knowledge and expertise in the specialty, and commitment to enhancing the health of society.

· Specialty Training - The Pharmaceutical Medicine Specialty Training programme, or PMST, is a comprehensive four-year specialty training programme, offered exclusively by FPM. It is a cornerstone of FPM’s commitment to equipping pharmaceutical physicians with the specialist knowledge and capabilities to practise to the highest ethical and professional standards.

The postholder will support FPM’s Examinations & Standards Manager and Specialty Training Manager in delivering a high quality experience for learners.

We are looking for a bright, dynamic self-starter who is a team player, organised and has good communication skills. The ideal candidate will bring great energy, diligence and attention to detail, and will be keen to make a positive contribution in all aspects of the role. Specific tasks include: acting as the first line of response for queries; supporting the registration of new exam candidates and trainees; assisting with administration of meetings, including circulating meeting notices, agendas and packs and handling apologies; and maintaining accurate records. An understanding of education and training in a professional environment is not necessary. Full training will be given.

The successful applicant will join FPM’s Education team initially on a 12-month contract which could be made permanent.  FPM offers a fantastic benefits package, including flexible working, 29 days annual leave, and Christmas closure days. As Educational Partnerships Manager you will be a key contributor to the regional educational partnerships team, supporting the team to achieve shared KPI’s for the region and the wider organisation.  The role of Educational Partnerships Manager involves working directly with young people and teachers in schools that delivering / supporting delivery of our Young Enterprise programmes.

The Educational Partnerships Manager role will suit someone that is able to work with young people, build rapport and engage young people from a range of backgrounds. You will need to be confident in working within education settings, liaising with school staff, volunteers, and corporate volunteers. This can be a varied role, but a very exciting role as well as very rewarding. Your experience of relationships development and management will help with developing new schools as well as supporting existing school relationships. There is not an exhaustive list but is to provide you with a flavour of the role.

This is a home-based role, however, will require significant travel in Devon and Somerset.

The Opportunity:  

Volunteers play a crucial role in supporting the many different activities that take place across the organisation. Volunteer opportunities offer volunteers increased social interaction, a chance to develop new skills that could aid employment, and the opportunity to make a real difference, changing the lives of disabled children and their families. Reporting into the Volunteer Manager, the role of Volunteer Recruitment and Support Officer is to recruit both individual and groups of volunteers across their various programmes of activity, presenting and showcasing what our client has to offer to a variety of audiences so that they can continue to grow their volunteer offering. The role will also support the Corporate Partnerships and Fundraising teams in the recruitment of volunteers for events.

- Work with our client's department managers to identify volunteer opportunities and to subsequently create volunteer role profiles.
- Identify and recruit potential volunteers for the many volunteer opportunities across the organisation working with local businesses, schools, higher education institutions and others to showcase all that our client has to offer.
- Work with the Communications and Marketing team to produce engaging volunteer recruitment campaigns, demonstrating the many benefits of volunteering for our client.
- Identify and work with local businesses and other corporate contacts to organise and run group volunteer days/sessions.  
- Make appointments and present to a variety of audiences including at volunteer recruitment days/exhibitions, local groups, corporate and business contacts and education institutions.
- Work with others to demonstrate and communicate the impact that volunteering can have for volunteers and for those who the charity supports.
- Report on key data related to volunteer activity including recruitment and number of volunteer hours given.
- Work with the communications team to organise and oversee the bi-annual volunteer event, celebrating our client's volunteers.
- Liaise with all volunteer sites where necessary to support volunteer recruitment and stewardship.
- Assist with the training of new volunteers in liaison with relevant managers from individual sites based to create a welcoming environment for new volunteers.
