Barnardo's and Amazon have joined together in partnership to deliver a programme which aims to support and transform the lives of care leavers and young people who are not in education, employment or training. The aim of the programme is to equip young people 18-29 with the skills, confidence and ambition to pursue their goals of finding employment, apprenticeships or further education and training.

The full-time Project Management Apprentice will support the functions of the service, be the first point of contact for enquiries, information about the project and communicate key messages. The role will consist of hybrid working of 60% within Barnardo's and 40% within Amazon and will involve remote working as well as office based.

Key responsibilities

- Conduct home assessments for the people they support in a 1-to-1 capacity, followed by six monthly or twelve monthly reviews.

The Direct Marketing Manager, Retention, is a newly developed role at the DEC, responsible for shaping and delivering new and existing supporter journeys for DEC individual, community and legacy donors, and leading a programme of improvement across all major contact points between the DEC and the public.

The Direct Marketing Manager, Retention will:

• Contribute to and develop DEC direct marketing strategies, including the refreshing, implementation and analysis of the DEC’s segmentation, to maximise future income and continually improve the retention of individual supporters for future emergency appeals,
• Lead on the production of retention and reporting back materials for individual and community supporters,
• Manage the development and maintenance of specific supporter journeys,

Via home visits, you will work with each tenant to agree a support plan to enable them to maintain their tenancy and move towards independent living.

You will build strong working relationships with local services to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting tenants, whilst at the same time developing and maintaining good working relationships with other local services and organisations that provide support services to tenants. 

You will complete and update records of interactions with tenants on the internal database and input data accurately onto monitoring spreadsheets. 

Experience of delivering a housing/tenancy management service, including arrears management, tenancy management (help with budgeting, managing bills and claiming the correct benefits), antisocial behaviour, safeguarding, repairs and health and safety, would be beneficial, but is not essential.

To succeed in the role, you will need excellent communication skills, be IT literate, and able to establish relationships based on trust with different people.

We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.  

The Research team is at the heart of our efforts to learn what works and put it into practice. We do this by commissioning research (including qualitative research, systematic reviews of intervention evidence and data analysis), and using this research to write and publish guidance across YEF’s sectors of interest.

We would be especially interested to hear from you if:   

• You know a lot about policing and/or youth justice: You know the key ideas and debates, recent policy developments and key people. You’re comfortable talking about policing and/or youth justice with experts. There are many ways to acquire this knowledge. You might have worked in the police or youth justice, in associated organisations, or learnt about either during a degree. 

The Senior Research Manager will: 

• Lead the development of evidence-based recommendations in policing. 

• Lead the development of the YEF’s strategy and research agenda on policing and youth justice.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Experience in sustainable urban development, ideally including affordable housing in emerging markets.
• Expertise in green buildings and their relationship to sustainability goals such as the Paris Agreement and the SDGs.
• Knowledge of, or experience in a relevant green buildings’ certification tool (such as EDGE, BREEAM, LEED etc.).
• Strategy planning capabilities, and excellent project and programme design and management capabilities.
• Excellent relationship building, collaboration, influencing and listening skills.

Salary – £45,000 - £50,000 per annum dependent on experience

Working hours – Normal office hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. We are open to flexible working patterns subject to the objectives and outcomes of the role being met. We are currently working hybrid with blended office and homeworking with the ability to work up to three days from home most weeks.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Finance Assistant. This role will take the lead on and be the primary contact for all the income related matters of Refuge which fall within the remit of Finance. The postholder will act as the bridge between Finance and Refuge for all income matters. This role will also work closely with the Housing Income Manager. The role incorporates a high level of processing requiring attention to detail and accuracy and is a critical role to Refuge.
