About the role

The Project Manager will provide effective and dynamic leadership and project management at Montfort and Bentley House, ensuring that all aspects of the service operate within a psychologically informed way of working.

Main duties

• To provide focused and motivating staff and volunteer management, ensuring that all staff and volunteers are working to the best of their ability and with the needs and aspirations of the people we support at the centre of their work.
• To develop and support an inclusive and enabling environment for all residents ensuring that they are all offered meaningful activities and involvement as appropriate to their needs and aspirations.
• To embed staff support structures including opportunities for team debriefs, complex case discussions and reflective practice to ensure that all staff are equipped with the necessary skills and support in carrying out their work.
• To ensure that the staff are trained and equipped to provide trauma-informed care to the residents, considering their psychological and emotional needs.
• To establish and oversee effective policies, procedures and systems at Montfort/ Bentley House which underpin the service and provide effective ways to record and celebrate the work undertaken with residents to satisfy both internal and external reporting needs.
• To be responsible for good and effective liaison with outside agencies including the police, social services and other statutory and voluntary agencies and delegating this work where appropriate.
• To monitor and authorise staff-related and office expenditure in line with the service’s budget and in line with financial regulations.

General responsibilities

• In conjunction with the Head of Housing and Progression to continuously develop the role to ensure that all tasks are being undertaken in an effective and appropriate manner which meets the strategic aims and objectives of The Passage.
• To participate in internal/external meetings as required, attend training events, conferences and other functions as necessary.
• To participate in regular supervision and annual appraisal, and help in identifying your own job-related development and training needs.

Hillside Clubhouse will be launching two brand new community cafés from Highgate East inpatients facility and from Lowther Road outpatients building.  We want to make the cafés a warm, safe and supportive destinations for the whole community, not just patients and visitors.  This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to grow and develop two community cafés and tackle stigmas associated with mental ill health.

The café manager will be instrumental in launching the cafés, so it is important that you feel confident and happy working under your own initiative as well as leading a small team.

Job Description

Community Engagement: Work with the Director of Clubhouse Operations, local community groups and partners to ensure the café is a daytime destination and meets the needs of the local community.

Budget Management: Working with the Executive Director and Director of Clubhouse Operations to manage the income and expenditure for the café.  Ensuring the daily and weekly cashing up is done accurately.

Supply Management: Ensure the kitchen minimises waste and has the produce required throughout the week. Manage the stock taking with the kitchen team.

People Management:  Supervise and manage the cafes team including paid staff and Hillside Clubhouse members.

Menu Creation: Working with the local community, Hillside members and the kitchen team to develop seasonal menus that are reasonably priced.

Partnership Working: Maintaining a good working relationship with the Camden and Islington Mental Health Trust and the team based at Highgate East Mental Health Hospital and the clinical team at Lowther Road

Health and Safety Management: Manage the health and safety procedures for all food and beverage provision including regular checks, inspections and reviews.  Ensuring all staff and volunteers comply with health and safety policies and procedures.

Work across the two cafes and provide support to the teams placed at the two sites

Safeguarding: Safeguarding lead on-site and being responsible for the safeguarding of vulnerable adults access the cafés.

General: Ensuring the cafés are following the policies and procedures of Hillside Clubhouse and being flexible in the support of the cafés and wider Hillside organisation.

Previous experience of working in the hospitality industry or demonstrable ability to step up into a leadership role in the sector

Experience of staff and/or volunteer management

Up to date knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety and licensing legislation requirements including daily monitoring and record keeping

Our Strategy Enablement directorate brings together five core enabling support functions -  Finance, Tech & Data, Governance, Planning and Property and HR Delivery, where this particular role sits. What we are looking for

Main duties and responsibilities

Partnership-building (50% of work)

• Support GRP’s established partnership-building strategy, expanding to new audiences in line with approach devised by Head of Partnerships and Strategic Communications Manager
• Support efforts to expand and strengthening GRP’s relationships with UK financial intermediaries, including wealth managers, financial planners, financial advisers and financial coaches.
• Other targeted outreach to potential institutional partners and individual donors, including:
  • Lead conversion through meetings and presentations
  • Coordination and communication with high-value institutional or individual leads

Charity research and impact reporting (40% of work)

• Ongoing relationship management with GRP’s current recommended charities
• Six-monthly data-driven assessment and scoring of GRP’s current recommended charities using our proprietary methodology
• Production of detailed impact reports on GRP’s current recommended charities every six months
• Quarterly presentations to GRPs’ Due Diligence Committee on our recommended charities, impact reports, etc
• Maintenance and updating of GRP’s selection/assessment methodology
• Research on climate charities for possible addition to GRP’s portfolio of recommended organisations

Customer relationship management (CRM) (10% of work)

• Managing company databases, including tracking and managing donor information and regular reporting to the Board of Trustees. Relevant programmes include Salesforce, Mailchimp and the website backend. No prior experience with these programmes required - training will be provided.
• Using data to facilitate ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the team’s progress in fundraising, sales and marketing, and addressing points of inefficiency to optimise conversions.
• Supporting website development and maintenance, including updating copy and visuals, and liaising with web developer.

For homeless people, or those at risk of homelessness, finding employment and housing opportunities can feel like an uphill battle, even more so if they’re affected by physical, mental health or substance use issues. Providence Row works with those affected by homelessness and those vulnerably housed in London, offering an integrated service of crisis support, advice and progression programmes. We ensure that people often excluded from mainstream services gain the support and opportunities they need to create a safe, healthy and sustainable life.

About the role

• Delivering a range of support to people who use drugs or alcohol, including bespoke harm reduction advice.
• Helping people from historically underserved communities to access the needle exchange and treatment services, as desired.
• Researching new opportunities to engage with members of the Tower Hamlets’ public about drug and alcohol use and available services in the borough.
• Signposting to other support services, as appropriate.
• As needed, accompanying other Reset Outreach and Referral Service workers or external professionals on outreach and in-reach in order to better understand the local environment as well as build rapport with clients.
• As needed, serving in the needle exchange rota in order to better understand the service as well as build rapport with clients. Supporting on a pilot wound care project in conjunction with Accelerate.

The Baobab Centre is a non-residential therapeutic community that supports young asylum seekers and refugees who have experienced human rights abuses and have sought asylum in the UK as unaccompanied minors. Our two focus areas are rehabilitation and justice.

The role of the Baobab Casework Advocate is to provide care and support for our community of unaccompanied asylum seeking and refugee children and young people. An ‘advocate’ is someone who supports another to express their views and wishes, to stand up for their rights, to enable one to make choices and access opportunities, while understanding the individual’s vulnerability and need.  As Casework Advocate you will work within our multidisciplinary team to provide the intensive support required, identify indicators of risk and safeguard young people from significant harm.

Mental Health

As Casework Advocate you will understand the impact of specific human rights abuses on the development of children and young people in exile and their individual experiences of loss, trauma and grief on their mental health and well-being.  All the young people Baobab supports suffer significant mental health and developmental difficulties and many function in an unstable and more immature way than their chronological age. Due to their experiences, it takes time to gain trust from the young people in our community.

Baobab’s Model

It is our experience that it takes a significant amount of time to understand Baobab’s model of working, which aims for rehabilitation and justice through attending to both the internal and external world of each young person (see more detail in accompanying ‘Baobab Model’ document). It is critical that as a Casework Advocate you strive to have an insight to the experiences of both the internal and external factors impacting on the lives of unaccompanied young people attending our centre. It is also critical you understand the the ways in which UK society and policy impacts on young asylum seekers (including invisibility, marginalisation, discrimination and the fact of waiting in uncertainty for a long time)

Multi-disciplinary Working A key aspect of the role is communicating with members of the team at Baobab and building relationships with other workers in the networks around each young person including social workers, teachers, foster carers, lawyers, clinicians in hospitals and community settings. Baobab aims to be a reflective, thinking organisation and we place a high value on shared thinking time, sharing responsibilities and working together with others who have a key role in relation to each young person both within and outside of Baobab.

Accessing rights and entitlements

The Casework Advocate supports community members to better understand the context in which they are living and how to access appropriate care, rights and entitlements. This involves working closely with each young person’s Key Work Clinician, and together strengthening relationships with external networks and developing holistic support plans to meet identified needs. As a Casework Advocate you must be prepared to challenge certain decisions and practices by external agencies where required for the welfare of the young person. The role involves supporting young people to initiate legal challenges when necessary and advocating on young person’s behalf where they are unable to.

Working towards independence

A key component of the role is to empower individuals to communicate their views, needs and experiences and participate in decision making processes. You will encourage young people to develop their level of knowledge and skills to enable their independence and progression towards their aspirations. Many of the young people Baobab supports find the task of taking responsibility for their own lives and making choices hugely challenging.

This currently includes delivery of the multi-year Get Shady project - swapping cars for trees on London’s hottest streets - and oversight of further work across urban greening, parklets and sustainable urban transport. In the future, this could include other campaigns.

With the support of the co-directors, you will be managing an annual Get Shady budget of hundreds of thousands of pounds, and a team of at least two staff members, alongside key relationships with our partners. You’ll be tasked with overall delivery and impact of Get Shady, supporting other work in your function via line management and project sponsorship, and leading fundraising against existing and new work in line with organisational strategy. You’ll work collaboratively with the communications team to spread effective campaign messages far and wide, and leverage the greatest impact possible in our target communities and beyond. Working within strategy and project plans that have been collaboratively developed, you’ll be free to put forward your own ideas for campaign activities, particularly in response to changing events. You’ll also be expected to act as the main spokesperson for your function, speaking at, for example, local or sector events, and to the media. 

You’ll also work closely with the rest of Possible’s senior management team to cultivate and maintain a positive and supportive working culture amongst the whole workforce as well as within your own team.

Alongside, where time allows, you’ll be supported to develop further campaign and project ideas within the ‘getting around’ focus area. Where additional funding does become available you may be required to take on additional line management and project oversight responsibilities.

We’re looking for a Data Officer to join our growing Young Sounds team. You will fulfil an important cross-organisational role, working closely with the team to collate and analyse the data collected through all our programmes.

About Young Sounds UK

Young Sounds exists because musical talent is everywhere but opportunity isn’t: family finances and other obstacles too often get in the way. We’re here to change this in two key ways:

• We support young musicians from low-income families with funding and other help;

• We support music education through training, advocacy and research.

We became an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation in April 2023 and also joined an expanded cohort of National Youth Music Organisations (NYMOs). We currently support around 900 individual young people across the UK every year and demand for our support is increasing. It’s an exciting time to join a pioneering organisation at the forefront of British music education.

The role

The Data Officer will fulfil an important cross-organisational role, working closely with the team to collate and analyse the data collected through all our programmes. Young Sounds is a reflective organisation. We’ve always invested time and effort in seeking out, understanding and demonstrating the difference our programmes are making. We believe in learning from experience. This is what we mean by evaluation.

Since 2023 we have committed to evaluating all three of our main programmes, each of which tackles a key barrier to young people’s musical progression. Each quarter we review our progress against both our Arts Council England Activity Plan (where measures of success are agreed annually) and the actions we’ve set for each year against each of Arts Council England’s four Investment Principles. We believe that data plays an integral part in telling the story of our work, and we regularly draw upon the information collated through evaluation to update our wider funding base (e.g. Trusts and Foundations) on the work we are doing. The Data Officer will work with the External Evaluator to enable us to report effectively and accurately on our progress to all our funders.

Reporting to the Finance and Operations Director you will also work closely with the External Evaluator, Development Manager, Finance Officer, and other members of the wider Young Sounds team.

Tender is an arts charity working with children and young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence through creative projects. Our programmes are safe, enjoyable, age-appropriate spaces where young people can engage with sensitive topics and “rehearse” for real-life scenarios. Participants are encouraged to be both consumers and producers of learning through script-work, role-play and creative media such as films and art. Throughout, we enable young people to explore their choices, rights and expectations in relationships and to recognise the early warning signs of abuse. 

We have grown rapidly in recent years, and now have an exciting and varied programme of work which is funded from a wide range of sources. We have long-standing, high-value relationships with organisations such as the Mayor’s Office, Esmée Fairbairn and Clifford Chance, and continue to grow our income from a range of supporters from trusts, foundations, corporates, individuals and community fundraisers.

We now have a need for an Officer to work closely with the Development Director and CEO in developing our corporate income stream, managing the accounts of existing corporate partners and generating income through securing new corporate partnerships. These partnerships will generate both donations and earned income, with corporate partners contracting Tender to deliver workplace training. You will also work closely with our Corporate Advisory Board, which includes a diverse, ambitious group of professionals who are supporting us to maximise our corporate income stream. This role will involve a diverse range of work, from identifying prospects, creating compelling funding approaches and workforce training pitches, through to successfully managing relationships with corporate partners.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Experience in researching and developing prospect lists for priority industries and implementing new business campaigns which will secure multi-year high value partnerships, both for workplace training and donations
• Experience of selling training programmes to businesses
• Experience in developing engaging and impactful partnership proposals and training propositions
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop strong relationships at all levels

The main purposes of the Development Officer role are:

• Working with the Development team to collectively achieve annual fundraising targets exceeding £2m per year
• Selling workplace training and donation opportunities to corporate partners across a range of industries, but in particular the legal and financial services sectors
• Supporting the CEO and Development Director to increase Tender’s workplace training delivery in order to achieve income targets through sales
• Contributing to applications and events in support of fundraising from other sources

A national children’s charity are looking to recruit a Head of Financial Accounting & Finance Systems. You will ensure the integrity of the accounting records and financial reporting. You will lead the statutory accounts preparation, year-end audits and month-end close. This role will play a lead role in employing strong financial controls and statutory compliance while managing and developing staff, building key relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance and driving department efficiencies, improving processes and financial controls. This role will also oversee and ensure the organisations finance systems are working effectively

Key areas of responsibility:

• Lead the accounting activities across the group, including financial accounting. Responsible for ensuring the TB and GL is maintained and accurate. Ensuring there is a strong financial control environment. Overseeing payment runs.
• Lead the year end processes including preparation of statutory financial statements and disclosure notes for the charity.
• Lead the month end close process and balance sheet reconciliations. Reviewing team reconciliations and supporting them to identify and resolve unreconciled items

Who are we looking for?

• A formally qualified Accountant 
• Relevant experience in a financial controls setting
• An excellent communicator who is able to influence at all levels within the organisation.
• Experience of leading/assisting with year end and Audit
