The Role

The head of Commercial Insights and Development will explore strategic initiatives aimed at driving revenue, growth and enhancing market competitiveness, evaluating existing programmes and products to determine their commercial viability and bring them to market.

Additionally, this will translate market insights into actionable recommendations for new programmes and product development, creating monetisation and pricing strategies.

Every day, fire fighters around the country go to work not knowing what they will face that day, or the physical and emotional trauma they may experience. Fire Fighters Charity exists to offer personalised, specialist support to the UK’s extensive fire and rescue services community, focusing on health and wellbeing services to ensure they can live healthier and happier lives. 

The Talent Set are delighted to be partnering with Fire Fighters Charity to recruit their next Director of Fundraising, a key SLT position that is integral to their ambitions to broaden the reach and impact of their work. 

As Director of Fundraising you will be responsible for c£8-10m voluntary income, managing a team of c20-28 across all income streams to support long-term sustainable growth and the development of new income streams. With a particular focus on building their high-value fundraising opportunities (across corporate, trusts/foundations and major donors) you will model progressive and inclusive leadership, identify new opportunities to grow voluntary income, and embed a long-term value stewardship culture across the organisation, ensuring donors and supporters feel inspired and compelled by the charity’s impact.

Fire Fighters Charity are currently developing their SLT team and have big plans for the future under the leadership of their new Chief Executive, Sherine Wheeler. This position will be integral to supporting the overall leadership of the organisation, ensuring those ambitions are grounded in robust strategies and delivered with rigour, and further developing new cases for support that enable further income generation opportunities. 

Key Responsibilities

• Act as an effective member of the Senior Leadership Team, helping define and deliver organisational strategy and working closely with the CEO/Trustees to impart subject matter expertise.
• Lead the fundraising team to deliver against income targets and maximise new opportunities - developing and implementing an ambitious strategy that allows for supporter growth across regular giving, legacy, trusts and foundations, major donors, corporate and community income streams.
• Take the lead on innovation in the charity's fundraising approach, developing products and offerings whilst considering cost effectiveness and ROI.
• Embed a culture of stewardship across the organisation, ensuring supporters and funding partners are developed with long term support in mind.
• Lead and develop the fundraising team, empowering them to deliver against targets and supporting professional development. 
• Establish engagement and develop strong relationships with key stakeholders (internally and externally).

Person Specification

• Experienced senior fundraising leader, with a breadth of skills and expertise developing and implementing successful multi-stream fundraising strategies.
• Focused on supporter journeys and ensuring exceptional stewardship to drive engagement and income across all donor audiences.
• Strong stakeholder management expertise (internal and external) with an ability to build robust relationships and gain support/commitment.
• Evident organisational development skills with the ability to act as an effective member of SLT and contribute to organisational strategy/plans. 
• Comfortable acting in the capacity of a charity ambassador, establishing new relationships as a consequence and identifying new funding opportunities.

What is the role?

This a 12 Month Maternity contract.

Working within our values and behavioural framework, the role involves closely managing the relationships of our partner organisations (known as Licensed Organisations – LOs) and ensuring those within your portfolio offer quality and inclusive DofE programmes to young people.

While managing these relationships, across your portfolio area in Teesside, you will also identify and develop new relationships with appropriate educational and community organisations to widen the access of the DofE to young people, particularly those who experience marginalisation.

You will be undertaking regular meetings, in person and virtually, engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders at different levels within different organisations across your portfolio area. When not out at meetings, you will be working from home.

Whilst you won’t be working directly with young people, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you are having a positive impact on their future opportunities.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a team player who has a passion for the development of young people and who will be enthusiastic, who can engage and influence a variety of stakeholders and who will be an authentic ambassador for the DofE.

You will need to have good communication and interpersonal skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders and have the skills to inspire and influence them to enable young people to participate in DofE.

To undertake the role, you’ll need to be exceptionally organised, have the ability to prioritise your workload, meet deadlines and have excellent administrative skills, being both computer literate and competent in MS Office applications.

We are looking for someone who has a positive outlook and who will actively contribute to our team.

The role will be mixture of home based and field based. The successful application should live within, or very close to, the portfolio area of Teesside with a full driving/motorbike licence and access to a vehicle.

About the role:

The role of Homicide Caseworker is varied, demanding and rewarding; no two days are the same and you will thrive on this challenge. You will need to be extremely organised and able work independently and as well as being a pro-active, supportive member of a team open to developing your personal resilience.

You will work closely with the Major Crime Police Units, Senior Investigators and Family Liaison Officers, you will provide a pivotal role to support clients through the Criminal Justice System. You will provide support to families by phone and Zoom when their usual Homicide Caseworker is unavailable. You will complete needs assessments, and will coordinate and deliver a tailored package of support alongside our commissioned providers and other key stakeholders.

You will be driven to make a difference every day with the ability to focus on the needs of vulnerable service users. You will have resilience and adaptability; understand the importance of professional boundaries; have excellent listening skills and the ability to demonstrate empathy. You will enjoy the challenge of a busy caseload and will be able to demonstrate the excellent organisation skills essential to managing a demanding and diverse workload.

As a fully trained Homicide Family Caseworker you will be responsible for managing your own complex caseload to the highest quality standards. This role is part of our remote working team and so you will be home-based, however you will need to be able to travel to work meetings and to attend training as required.

You will need:

• Effective verbal & written communication skills
• Experience delivering services within a statutory, voluntary or multi agency setting
• Good organisational skills, able to prioritise effectively

After two years of coalition-building with partners, we have developed a network of relationships with human rights activists and groups in El Salvador, Colombia, Brazil, Kenya, Indonesia, the Philippines and elsewhere. We are looking for a strong organiser and human rights advocate to continue building this network and help other groups organise to create impact.

We aim to facilitate civil society groups’ engagement with UN and regional human rights bodies, support grassroots-led research projects through small grants, and facilitate collaborations on shared advocacy projects.

This position reports to the Executive Director and supervises the work of the Eastern Africa Human Rights Assistant (EAHRA).

· Degree in law, human rights, public policy, international development or another relevant field.

· Fluency in spoken and written Spanish as well as English.

· A minimum of 4 years of experience in international human rights advocacy or relevant community organising, including at least some experience in building or leading coalitions.

· Experience in designing and implementing effective plans to achieve reforms.

· Familiarity with the social and political landscape of at least one country in Latin America.

· A record of drafting and publishing human rights analyses or advocacy documents.

· A strong commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace, and solid experience of work in multi-cultural environments.

· Expertise in one or more of the following areas: counter-terrorism issues, climate justice, migrants’ rights, or technology and privacy.

Responsibilities:

· Create and lead advocacy strategies with partners at the national level in countries such as El Salvador, Colombia and Kenya to stop the human rights abuses that governments commit in the name of ‘national security’.

· Help civil society partners in Global Majority countries take advantage of international advocacy opportunities, including via the Rise Network.

· Oversee a small research grant programme.

· Lead RSI’s role in a major international coalition for civil society on counter-terrorism and human rights.

· Supervise the work of the Eastern Africa Human Rights Assistant.

About the role:

We are looking for an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to be based at Luton & Dunstable Hospital this role will compliment the Hospital IDVA based at Bedford Hospital. This is a full-time post on a fixed term contract until 31st March 2025. The aim of this role is to support victims of domestic abuse predominately risk assessed as standard/medium to compliment our high risk service across Bedfordshire. This is a key role at the hospital working alongside the safeguarding team to ensure that victims of domestic abuse have access to appropriate support.

As an IDVA you will be:

• Providing a high quality support and advocacy service to victims of domestic abuse.
• Managing a caseload; identifying and assessing risks and needs, providing a tailored crisis intervention service through individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
• Working with other agencies and advocating on behalf of service users in order to help them access services to keep them safe.
• Working within a multi-agency framework consisting of partners as well as MARAC and other local partnerships to offer a coordinated response to domestic abuse.
• Promoting the service and raise awareness of domestic abuse through the delivery of training to hospital staff and local partner agencies

You will need:

• Experience of working in support and advocacy with victims of domestic abuse is advantageous
• To be able to prioritise work and deal with competing or conflicting demands/needs and interests and promote organisation interests and values.
• To ideally hold a SafeLives IDVA accreditation, relevant degree, vocational qualification or relevant experience of delivering a service and working with domestic abuse victim's/service users in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting.
