Peer Support Worker

Contract type: Permanent
Hours: 12 hrs per week (Monday & Tuesday)
Salary: £23,088 per annum, FTE (actual salary £7,488 per annum)
We are searching for a Peer Support Worker to join our mental health services. The role is a peer support worker, who would facilitate face to face and zoom groups, and help us with the smooth running of Mind BLMK services. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the recovery journey needed to improve mental health and wellbeing.
Our peer support and recovery services are a key element of the services we offer, and we are looking for someone who can use their own lived experiences to provide support to help individuals achieve their goals.
Service Delivery
- Support an existing peer led eco-therapy group to work towards self-sustainability
- Coordinate the service processing of client referrals, adding details to the data base and assessing client suitability by carrying out risk assessments.
- Support clients to access other services within Mind BLMK.
- Encourage and support client engagement with Mind BLMK through the influence and participation process, Guarantor Membership, and training opportunities.
- Contribute to maintaining an effective volunteer workforce for the service in line with Mind BLMK’s HR policies, procedures and guidance (workload planning and support).
- Carry out Cash Handling, Health and Safety and Data Collection responsibilities as directed by the Team Leader in line with Mind BLMK’s policies, procedures, requirements and guidance.
