Together for Mental Wellbeing is the UK’s oldest mental health charity. Since 1879, we have believed that people experiencing mental distress have the right to live the life they choose and determine their own future.

As our Director of Finance and Resources, you will play a critical leadership role in the ongoing transformation and financial sustainability of Together, ensuring the conditions for our future success. Support Workers will provide support to customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet the assessed needs of the customers of the service. They will work with customers to promote social inclusion and alongside other members of the team to promote independent living, encouraging customers to maximise their skills and choices.

This Support Worker role is on a 4 week rolling rota which includes a combination of early (8.00 - 16.00) and late (14.00 - 22.00) shifts including weekends. No sleep in's required.

PR and Communications Manager

About the role

The main purpose of this role is to lead on the delivery of a broad and engaging PR and communications strategy for the BSA, and several of its programmes, to raise the profile of the organisation’s work and its spokespeople.

They will create engaging content for our digital channels, as well as work on national PR campaigns, develop social media strategies and produce thought-provoking case studies.​

They will work on key aspects of the British Science Week PR and events campaign and will lead the British Science Festival’s media relations work. They will also oversee the communications plans for our Policy, Partnerships and Impact programmes, including For Thought, Sciencewise, and Future Forum.

They will line manage our Communications Officer and provide support and advice to the wider communications team, especially on PR and media relations activity.

Key responsibilities

The main responsibilities of this role are to:

• Deliver the BSA’s corporate communications strategy, by developing integrated, multi-channel communications plans and activities;
• Manage a programme of profile-raising PR and media relations for the BSA and its spokespeople;
• Develop the PR and communications plan for British Science Week, including leading on the stakeholder launch event;
• Lead on the PR and media relations plan for the British Science Festival, by liaising with the researchers and academics involved;
• Deliver the communications plans for our Policy, Partnership and Impact programmes, including our annual thought leadership summit, For Thought, the BSA’s work on Sciencewise, the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Diversity and Inclusion in Science, and Future Forum;

• Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation on content & ideas for the various programmes we run.

About you

The PR and Communications Manager role will suit someone who has a passion for showcasing the impact of an organisation with stakeholder audiences.

We are looking for someone who is proactive and creative, with an eye for detail. You should be a compelling storyteller, with experience in developing engaging content in various media.

Ideally, you will have a background in media relations or PR, but if not, a sound understanding of the UK media landscape is essential.

You do not need a background in science to apply for this role – we are looking for someone who wants to communicate messages and deliver excellent content.

You will have the opportunity to work with a range of stakeholders in this role, including some of the BSA’s beneficiaries, our partners and sponsors, the press and media, as well as contractors. You need to feel comfortable meeting and talking to new people.

You will occasionally work at events, so a professional manner is a must, and a willingness to travel to other parts of the UK from time to time.

The Organisation

Action on Disability (AoD), founded in 1979, is one of London’s leading Deaf and Disabled People’s Organisations. AoD’s Welfare Benefits Service

The Welfare Benefits Service provides free independent advice and assistance to all disabled residents and their carers who live and work in Hammersmith and Fulham borough. The service is for all ages, including parents and carers of disabled children.

We provide free advice and assistance, up to and including Tribunal level, on all Department for Work & Pensions (DWP) benefits, Tax Credits, and some local authority benefits.

Welfare Benefits Advisor will

• Provide high quality Welfare Benefits advice and casework and, as appropriate, representation at the 1st Tier Tribunals for disabled individuals of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.
• Write Mandatory Reconsideration requests and in a limited number of cases, write appeal submissions.
• Undertake direct welfare advice and casework.
• Maintain appropriate records of work undertaken using an appropriate electronic Welfare Benefits Recording and Information System via AoD’s Charity Log, and through the use of Excel
• Gather information to monitor and evaluate the service.
• Assist with funding applications / tender bids by providing basic factual information to Fund Raising Manager/CEO/Managers to enable them to apply for funding and also enable them to write funding/tender applications.
• Contribute to Welfare Benefits related publicity material, social media, reports for the Board of Trustees and other stakeholders and other documents as required.
• This post requires travel to different locations, e.g. for home visits.

As the Senior Philanthropy Lead, you will be leading and inspiring an ambitious high-growth team overseeing income generation from both Major Donors & Trusts & Foundations.  As well as support a wonderful team, you will also work closely with the Head of Fundraising to identify, cultivate & steward major gifts from existing and prospective donors, providing an exceptional and personal experience.

This is a fabulous opportunity to join a growing organisation and play a vital role in leading the team as they scale to support more children. It’s a full-time role but they are happy to consider compressed hours or a 4-day working week.

To be a Senior Philanthropy Lead you will need:

• A successful track record in high-value fundraising and acquisition of donors
• Experience leading a small team, nurturing development and managing performance
• Exceptional understanding of complex relationship-based fundraising from HNWI & grant-making organisations

Nature Based Solutions Manager - London and Slough

About The Role

As our Nature Based Solutions Manager, you will be at the forefront of the co-creation of NBS that change peoples' lives and the places they live in two projects - Project Sponge in Slough and Community Bluescapes in Richmond, London. Alongside the other team members, you will demonstrate the power of urban wetlands and other blue infrastructure to help communities to adapt to climate change and build better, safer, more natural places to live.

Your key role will be to co-design and deliver with the local community NBS interventions that build resilience to flooding, provide space for wetland wildlife and improve health and well-being of citizens. You'll manage the tendering process and contractors; ensure high quality and innovative interventions are created and effectively communicate messages about climate change and nature-based solutions to citizens, partners and stakeholders.

This is an exciting, innovative approach to climate change adaptation at street and neighbourhood level. It places local residents at the heart of decision-making, design and delivery of interventions that help keep them safe from floods, droughts, heat stress and create more natural places too.

This role is suitable for hybrid working with the expectation that the successful candidate will spend up to half the working week on site with options for working from home or in office accommodation as appropriate.

About You

You'll need  a professional qualification in NBS/SuDS/NFM design and installation or similar or equivalent experience from previous roles.

We are looking for someone who is well-organised; a creative thinker, a team player, an effective communicator at ease with co-design principles and practice and someone who can be an ambassador for NBS, WWT and our partners.

Prospectus is delighted to be working with Life Charity to recruit a new Community and Events Fundraising Manager. In this role, you will lead a central part of the overall fundraising strategy by overseeing the community and events income streams.

Your work will increase the impact of the charity and benefit those needing support in pregnancy, pregnancy loss or in the early years of a baby. 
 
For this role, you can be based remotely in the UK with occasional travel to Leamington Spa. This role is offered on a permanent basis at 35 hours per week (part-time options available), paying a salary of £38,000 per annum. 
 
Reporting to the Director of Income Generation and leading the small Community and Events team, the post holder will create new relationships within the community, manage current support and re-engage lapsed donors. The Community and Events Manager will also involve building a portfolio of events designed to engage new and current supporters. Another key responsibility will be to create and develop fundraising tools that seek to engage and maximise fundraising in the community.
