About the role

The Administrative Assistant (Advice and Information) provides important administrative support to our small, friendly Advice and Information Team, which includes:

CoramBAAF members’ Advice Line which covers all aspect of adoption, fostering, kinship and related areas. It is busy and popular with professionals, primarily social workers, who use the service. It offers telephone and email advice, prioritising speed and quality of service.

The Outbound Permanence service. This provides specialist advice by email, supported by legal research, country-specific written guidance and individual consultations where required, to local authorities making arrangements for children to live with relatives and friends overseas. The service also delivers regular training and events.

The Information Service, which supports the advice line and CoramBAAF members with up-to-date information, research, resources and statistics. Their role also includes managing CoramBAAF’s specialist library, the largest collection of adoption and fostering related resources in the UK, and producing the CoramBAAF Digest, a unique monthly current awareness briefing for everyone working in adoption, fostering, kinship and child welfare covering latest developments in legislation, parliamentary activity, policy, consultations, research, statistics and online resources throughout the UK. The Information Service is also an invaluable internal resource, assisting with survey design and data governance, and helping our consultants, trainers and authors to ensure that they have the latest and most accurate information for practice forum meetings, the guides we publish and the training we offer.

The role will primarily support the Outbound Permanence and Advice services. The role is an opportunity for someone with experience and business support/administrative skills, good attention to detail, customer service focus and a flexible approach.

Working hours can be discussed, but to include Thurs/Fri (Friday am specifically).

Fixed term for six months, with possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate and detailed financial data using Excel and in-house systems.
• Collaborate with finance business partners and heads of services to ensure timely and accurate delivery of monthly control account reconciliations.

Qualifications and Skills:

• CCAB-recognised accounting qualification (ACA qualified is desired).
• Extensive experience in preparing regulatory financial returns and managing filings with FVA and Companies House.
• Proven track record in managing interim and year-end audits, with effective coordination with auditors.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse audiences and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to analyse complex data, develop solutions, and make data-driven decisions.
• Experience influencing operational activities at both tactical and strategic levels.
• Proficiency in Excel; experience with D365 and Power BI is desired.

The PR and Media Officer is responsible for developing and delivering PR activities to ensure effective communication with stakeholders, media and the public. A primary objective is to establish and raise the profile of KCLSU across media – trade, local and national. 

Working in a small team, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering successful media campaigns and daily management of media enquiries, always in line with KCLSU's strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Raise KCLSU's profile, creating an understanding among key audiences by presenting the Student Union's core messages and services in specialist and mainstream print, broadcast, online and digital media.
2. Develop strong relationships with journalists/press agencies in both mainstream and Higher Education media.
3. Work with student officers and colleagues to achieve high-quality media coverage and public awareness for issues of importance to KCLSU.
4. Support and deliver PR and Media campaigns which align with KCLSU strategy.
5. Collaborate with student newspaper ROAR to promote upcoming events and other relevant KCLSU news.
6. Explore fundraising opportunities through media coverage.
7. Assist the communications team in written and verbal communications.
8. Monitor KCLSU's PR activities with periodic reports to the line manager and Head of Communications and Digital.

About this role 

It is a hugely exciting time to be working in the online safety field. New regulation created by the Online Safety Act is set to significantly increase companies’ duties to keep users safe, especially children. At the same time, the online issues which families are contending with continue to evolve at pace: from mis- and dis-information in the age of generative AI, to increasing volumes of misogynistic online abuse, and data and privacy risks to name just a few.

There is cross-party consensus on the importance of tackling these issues, and a real appetite for practical, evidence-led solutions – especially as a new Government form.

Against this backdrop, Internet Matters is recruiting a Senior Policy Manager to help ensure that our voice is heard in these conversations, advocating for the interests of children and families to be put first. This wide-ranging role will include:

• Supporting the development of Internet Matters’ policy positions, ensuring our positions are underpinned by the latest research and informed by the sector and political landscape. 

• Leading policy projects (e.g., reports, briefings, roundtables) from inception to completion and supporting other projects that have a policy element. This will include authoring external-facing reports.

• Presenting and sharing policy and research in a range of settings, including at external meetings and events, tailoring messages to different audiences.  

• Stakeholder engagement, public affairs and influencing, including maintaining and developing a network of contacts across Government, Parliament, regulators, the third sector and industry. Identifying opportunities to push forward our agenda with high-level decision-makers, including through convening meetings and events and actively contributing to events held by others.

• Reactive policy work such as media requests, writing blogs, producing briefings and responding to consultations.

This role sits within the Policy and Research team and a core aspect of the role will be the ability to shape research and insights for policy and sector audiences. You will also support with the analysis of research in relation to policy related tasks. 

About you 

The successful candidate will have professional experience of working in policy, public affairs, or a closely related field. Although not mandatory, it is desirable that they have knowledge of online safety and/or tech policy. 

You may have worked for another charity/not-for-profit, a regulator, in government, parliament or industry. You are excited by the opportunities of working in a small organisation, where everyone lends a hand to deliver key priorities, and where you can contribute actively to our wider thinking and strategy.

We are particularly keen to hear from candidates that have experience writing policy reports and developing policy positions from primary research, as well as experiencing disseminating information to a range of expert and non-expert audiences.

Skills, knowledge and experience  

Essential 

• Professional experience of working in policy, public affairs, or a closely related field. 

• Knowledge of the policymaking process and how it can be influenced, e.g., through Parliament.

• Experience of producing high quality written outputs at speed, including reports, briefings, consultations, and blogs.

Oaklands & St Kilda is a pair of 6 unit supported accommodation mental health rehab services working with young people between the ages of 18-25 who may have experienced a mental health related hospital admission to gain and develop skills for future independent living. The service will support individuals transitioning from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services to Adult services.

The service forms part of a pair of services supporting up to 12 individuals at any one time across the sites, providing a welcoming and supportive environment for young people across London on a spot purchase basis.

Support workers will manage a number of young people to help them to identify, plan and achieve their goals, develop relationships meaningful to them and achieve greater independence by providing a flexible and individually tailored support package.

This is a Waking Night role working to support young people throughout the night at the service.

This role will consist of 3 weekly shifts from 22:00 to 08:00

As the Bid Writer and Manager, you will be responsible for leading on and supporting with bid writing for the charities needs. This will include bids and applications to trusts and foundations and tenders for statutory funding. Focusing on five-figure applications and bids, as well as supporting the Head of Insight with six-figure applications, this is an opportunity to grow your portfolio and support key health and wellbeing services.

To be successful as the Bid Writer and Manager, you will have experience in writing bids to trusts and foundations to secure five or six-figure grants. This person will need to have strong writing skills and be able to work both autonomously and as a part of a small team. Ideally this person will have some knowledge and experience of researching new prospective trusts and foundations.  

This role is a part-time contract position of 21 hours per week and an initial 6-month contract. The salary for this role is £34,999 FTE and will ideally have one day per week in their London office.

Are you keen to work in a busy and efficient team?

We’re working with a wonderful health charity who are looking for an Events Coordinator to join their fundraising team. You’ll speak to supporters over the phone, via email and social media and be the first point of contact for enquiries. You’ll work on the supporter-led fundraising team portfolio, including challenge events, community fundraising and fundraising products, virtual events, and providing administrative support.

This is an important role for the team as you will be the first point of contact for speaking with participants and maintaining accurate data entry, you will also send out communications and event packs to supporters as well as focusing on 3^rd party events programmes. As an Events Coordinator, you will need:

The European Network on Statelessness (ENS) is a civil society alliance of over 180 members in 41 countries, committed to breaking the cycle of statelessness in Europe and realising everyone’s right to a nationality. We are dedicated to raising awareness about statelessness, supporting legal and policy development, and building civil society’s capacity to act. At the heart of our work lies the understanding that stateless people and their communities should be leaders of change.

The Head of Operations and Development will work as part of the Senior Management Team, which includes the Director and the Head of Policy & Advocacy, to ensure ENS's continued success and growth.  The role demands a high level of aptitude, leadership, flexibility, initiative, and commitment.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading and developing ENS's strategic and operational planning, monitoring implementation, financial management, fundraising, and organisational development. They will contribute to the management and sustainable growth of ENS by ensuring that efficient systems and procedures are in place. They will oversee financial management, working closely with the Finance Manager, and will manage our HR function, helping to foster a positive organisational culture aligned with our values.

Collaborating with the Director and Head of Policy & Advocacy, the successful candidate will also work to diversify income streams and build strategic partnerships to support our growth and ensure that we fulfil our strategic objectives. They will implement robust monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes to measure and enhance our impact. The role involves coordinating pan-regional projects and events that engage our members across Europe.

The ideal candidate will bring at least five years of experience in a senior operations role, preferably within the non-profit sector. They will have a proven track record in financial management, fundraising/development and operational excellence. Strong leadership skills, a collaborative approach, and a commitment to human rights are essential for success in this role. Given the wide-ranging nature of the role, we are open to candidates who have relatively less experience in a certain area provided they can deliver in the role and clearly demonstrate their aptitude to develop any skills as necessary.

The candidate will be contributing positively to our dynamic organisational ethos and cross-team working where all ideas are valued, and innovation is encouraged. They will be able to fit well into a fast-paced and demanding environment with an international focus.
