We are recruiting for a talented Benefits and Debt Worker who has a background in supporting women or children who have experienced domestic violence to make a genuine difference to the lives of survivors. We believe in empowering women and girls to lead safe, non-violent, equal lives and you will play a key role in helping us deliver vital services to those who need them the most. As a Benefits and Debt Worker you will provide service users with advice and support on finance and debt. Carrying out comprehensive assessments, via phone and face-to-face, and you will provide advocacy and support that empowers survivors primarily during crises and in the short term. You will also proactively work with other agencies on the service users’ behalf. You will hold a caseload of survivors and work as part of our duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.

About You:

To be successful as the Benefits and Debt Worker you will need the below experience and skills:

You will have the ability to encourage user engagement with the service through proactive contact. Maintain project logs and collate data from the logs for Team Managers. Proactively assess the needs and safety of any children that women using the service may have. Bring your experience of providing benefit, and debt advice and successfully, managing high numbers of calls and/or cases and have a solid understanding (possibly experience) of supporting women who have experienced domestic violence, forced marriage or ‘honour-based violence.

What is a Portfolio Delivery Test Lead?

What You’ll Do

• Trusts & grants: Work with the Development & Communications Manager to write and submit compelling funding applications to trusts, foundations and grant-making bodies to secure new and repeat funding.

Working for the RSS

Pension and benefits

Our defined contribution pension scheme can be joined after three months in post. Your contributions of up to 8% of salary will be double matched by the Society (making a maximum contribution by the Society of 16%). A training budget, season ticket loan, cycle to work scheme and employee assistance programme are also available. 

Location

The RSS office is in central London. We offer flexible working arrangements, and this is a hybrid role with a minimum two days a week working in the office. In person attendance for certain meeting is required, including all-staff / team meetings and governance / committee meetings that take place in person. Limited travel within the UK and internationally may be required.

Working hours

35 per week full-time. Applications for job shares, part-time and flexible working will also be considered. The post-holder will be the point of contact for any out-of-office hours press queries. 

Holidays

Role Overview:
The Talent Set is working with a fantastic Membership Organisation as they search for a Media and Communications Officer to support them on an initial 4 month temporary role

This position offers the opportunity to engage in high-impact media activities, including drafting press releases, managing media enquiries, and supporting senior spokespeople for national broadcast appearances.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft press releases, op-eds, statements, articles, and social media content for national and trade media outlets.
• Handle daily media enquiries, arrange interviews, and brief journalists on key issues.
• Develop and support communications strategies for C-suite and member events.
• Organise media-focused events such as press conferences and roundtables.
• Arrange and prepare spokespeople for TV, radio, and print interviews with detailed briefing materials.
• Build relationships with media contacts, internal departments, and key external
• Develop creative content for social channels (including X/Twitter and LinkedIn).
• Assist with media-related administrative duties and participate in the out-of-hours press office rota.

Summary

The Human Resources department provides a strategic and operational HR service to the seven National Church Institutions (NCIs) and the 42 Diocesan Bishops' offices. Our HR Operations team focusses on the entire employee lifecycle providing support, advice and guidance to senior leaders, line managers and staff. The Organisational Development team lead on culture, values, wellbeing, development and our belonging & inclusion strategy. Through our External Service team, we also offer HR support on a consultancy basis to other Church of England organisations including our dioceses and cathedrals.

The NCIs comprises a wide variety of functions and professions to support the mission and ministries of the Church by working with those who serve in parishes, dioceses, schools and other ministries, and with partners at a national and international level.

• Reviewing risk assessments that have been completed by staff and line managers, requesting additional information, and advising on risk mitigation;
• Supporting requests for adjustments and additional equipment may be required, including requests for Access to Work funding, liaising with Facilities and Technology Services as required;
• Supporting the Head of Health & Safety in reviewing accidents and incidents that occur across NCI sites or involve colleagues in the course of their work;
• Advising staff travelling overseas on potential risks;
• Managing the lone worker safety devices used by the NCIs;
• Administering our Health Cash Plan scheme;
• Day to day administration of our Health & Safety reporting system;
• Assisting in the preparation of Health & Safety reports e.g., the Joint Staff Council and Health and Safety forum.

As an adviser within the HR Operations team, you will also get involved in responding to other types of HR queries via email, phone and Teams chat, and supporting colleagues in using our Oracle Employee and Manager self-service.

This is a hybrid working role which can be based in our offices in either York or London. We typically work from the office at least one day per week, and remote for the remainder of the time. Visits to other NCI work locations may also be required from time to time.

You'll need previous experience of advising on and reviewing health and safety risks, including Display Screen Equipment, lone working and overseas travel with, or working towards, a recognised Health & Safety certificate (e.g. IOSH/NEBOSH or equivalent).

We're looking for someone who has:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with accuracy and attention to detail including with numerical data. You will need to be able to communicate clearly to stakeholders at all levels within the organisation.
• An enthusiastic and highly organised approach to work, with the ability to understand and process high volumes of information. You will need to be able to work comfortably with competing priorities and show flexibility in your approach to customers to understand differing expectations.

An interest in and willingness to learn broader HR policies and processes. Experience in HR in addition to Health & Safety would be an advantage.

• A salary of £40,572 per annum, plus age-related pension contributions between 8-15% of salary. We will also match any pension contributions you make up to an additional 3% of your salary.

Support Coordinator

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team in Herefordshire and Worcestershire.  We’re looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and well organised individual to join the team in delivering a comprehensive Stroke Recovery Service across the region.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to support them following a stroke.

Position: S11266 Stroke Support Coordinator

Location: Home-based, Herefordshire and Worcestershire. However, extensive travel will be required as part of this role (travel will include team meetings or other work-related meetings).

Hours: Part-time, 28 hours per week

Salary: Circa £21,948 per annum (FTE circa £27,435 per annum)

Contract: Services are contracted and there is currently funding for this contract until 31 March 2026.

The Role

Reporting to the Stroke Service Delivery Coach, the coordinator will work with the local Health and Social Care services to receive referrals and support stroke survivors and their carers. As a coordinator you will provide personalised information, advice and support with regular reviews throughout.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Working with the local Health and Social services to receive referrals to support stroke survivors and their carers.

• Providing personalised information, advice and support to address any needs identified.

• Completing Needs Assessments with stroke survivors and supporting them to develop a stroke recovery plan.

• Providing regular reviews to support people in establishing and achieving their own personal goals. 

• Completing 6 month Post Stroke Reviews.

About You

You will have experience and have a proven record:

• In a caring and/or charity profession supporting people with disabilities.

• Be able to demonstrate previous experience of working collaboratively with other organisations to achieve joint ambitions. 

• Have experience of working with people who may have additional communication support needs.

• Have the ability to use basic Microsoft system.

This role requires extensive travel across a large geographical locality to visit people at home and in community settings. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role
