ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an exciting opportunity for two Heads of Service to join our organisation! There are two positions to be filled one with a special focus on Criminal Justice Services and the other with a focus on Homelessness and complex needs including mental health.

You will be responsible for providing positive and inspirational leadership across services to create positive communities, empowerment to individuals, and ensure psychologically informed environments! You will be responsible for ensuring services maintain the highest standards of service delivery, quality, performance and improvements. You will have the overall responsibility to ensure services are adhering to regulatory compliance as provided by commissioners, SIG, and all relevant stakeholders.

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm, with some Hybrid working as well as being based at Central Office, and making regular service visits. You will also take part of our out of office on call duty.

Some of what are we looking for:

Head of Criminal Justice 

• Previous experience and knowledge of Criminal Justice Services (CJS). Experience working with HMPPS is desirable
• Thorough understanding of the needs of the residents/participants in which we support in this area
• Ability to work flexibly and work closely with commissioners and CJS services including Prisons - this role will require additional vetting through BPSS (Prison clearance may also be required)

Head of Homelessness and Complex Needs

• Previous experience and knowledge working within homelessness and/or mental health services with a thorough understanding of the needs of the residents/participants in which we support

For both positions, in addition we require:

• Experience of leading teams that deliver complex and high-risk services
• Experience of working closely with commissioners 
• Experience of contract management and monitoring contractual performance
• Budget Management experience and/or willingness to learn financial management
• Previous experience in line management and development
• IT Proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to navigate and learn new case management systems and other types of organisational software

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

People Leadership

• Provide high quality support, leadership, and line management to staff, offering guidance, support, and advice to the team to support them to perform to the best of their abilities.
• Provide leadership to employees throughout the employee life cycle. This includes but is not limited to;
  Recruitment, onboarding, inductions, probation reviews, support and supervision, employee relations, performance, learning and development, staff wellbeing and support, grievances, sickness, disciplinaries, retention and other areas which fall within the employee lifecycle. 
• Ensure Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion in best practice and policy is in place and being embedded across all services. 

Operational Leadership

• Managerial and leadership oversight of the service area as agreed, ensuring delivery in line with Social Interest Group’s annual business plans, contractual requirements, and KPI’s, including making sure all legislative requirements and targets are being met. 
• Support managers to create person centred, psychologically informed environments that deliver high quality services which are underpinned by our theory of change.
• Responsible for regular review of operational dashboards and monitoring of performance and KPI’s, creating reports and submitting these to relevant stakeholders. 
• Create, maintain, and communicate reports using various channels and data software to measure various metrics of performance, trends, and other relevant reporting criteria. Communicate this effectively to various stakeholders internally and externally.

Organisational Growth/Business Development/Relationship Management

• Support with sourcing, developing, and improving operational growth. This could include supporting the organisation with finding new opportunities, supporting with bid writing process, and implementation process of new services and other opportunities in the organisation. 
• Support on commissioner negotiations to ensure contractual compliance is upheld between both parties, including negotiating pathways into services to mitigate reduced positive outcomes and associated financial loss.
• Lead on any mobilisations and implementation of new services in collaboration with all relevant departments across the business and deliver new services to budget requirements, in a timely manner.

Audit, Compliance, Risk

• Regularly undertake staff-assessment audits of services against key quality and risk standards, and ensure all actions and improvements are acted on within required timeframes.
• Ensure all services follow correct safeguarding and risk management protocols and procedures.
• Undertake fact finding and any external/internal investigations, ensuring they are in line with organisational policy, as well as associated formal hearings.

Financial Management

• Budget Management: Promote and manage effective cost control mechanisms, management of the overall budget for the given operational group, work collaboratively with other teams to set the service budgets, review monthly accounts, and ensure effective management of the areas budget and reporting. 
• Lead on the annual review of contracts with commissioners and/or other relevant stakeholders internally and externally to ensure the service budgets are adequate to meet the needs of the contracts and any associated risk.
• Have overall oversight over the operational group, approve budget items and costs, ensure headcount is well managed and within budget, and make any adaptations if necessary.

About this role

The Bookkeeper is a new role at Pembroke House. You will work closely with the Director of Finance to form a team of two managing the financial activities of the charity (turnover approx £1 million). You will need good communication skills to cater to the differing needs of each team, have excellent attention to detail to ensure that high-quality financial information is produced and be firm with others in applying the charity’s financial regulations.

Main Duties

PURCHASE LEDGER

• Maintain the Purchase Ledger on online accounting software (Sage 50).

SALES LEDGER

• Maintain the Sales Ledger on online accounting software.

• Prepare and issue sales invoices. 

• Handle customer account enquiries.

• Calculate recharges within the charity, for example photocopier usage and record these on accounting software.

BANK AND CASH

• Monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts, resolving any discrepancies.

• Process, manage and bank income via cheques and cash.

• Monthly reconciliation of all petty cash tins and, with the Cafe Manager, cafe till sales.

You will report to the Head of Clinical Services, London and operate as an integral part of the London Clinical Services Team. About the role

This is a wide-ranging position, and your key areas of responsibility will include:

• To manage a multi-disciplinary team, including paid staff and volunteers from different professions and disciplines and provide professional and clinical supervision to qualified clinicians and trainees in the service including, clinical/counselling psychologists.

About you

This is an important role within Freedom from Torture. To be successful in this role you must have a high level of commitment to maintaining excellent standards of client care and service delivery. It is a key requirement that you must have knowledge of appropriate clinical standards and external regulatory bodies. You must also have sound financial awareness and experience of balancing the provision of quality care against budgetary parameters.

To be considered for this role you must be a Psychologist registered with HCPC and have qualified with a doctorate or equivalent in either clinical or counselling psychology. You must have professional experience of working with clients with complex PTSD and have post-qualification experience of using evidence-based trauma focused therapy models. It is essential that you have a clear understanding of the experience of refugees and people seeking asylum, both in terms of pre-flight experience and the experience of living in exile. You must have previous management and supervision experience and be able to provide demonstrable examples of how you have successfully led and influenced clinical teams within community or health care settings.

Scope of role

1. Providing tailored financial advice and support.
2. To maintain detailed case records.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as an Outreach Worker supporting individuals who are homeless with complex needs and have been excluded from services.

Richmond Fellowship works as part of the Bridge the Gap Alliance within a well-established, multidisciplinary team set up to meet the needs of homeless people based in East Surrey. We provide support to clients with interventions through specialist workers including Mental Health, Substance Misuse, Community Inclusion, Homelessness, Crisis Prevention, Social Work, and financial support.

We are currently seeking an Outreach Worker who will be responsible for engaging with individuals with multiple and complex needs and working alongside internal & external agencies. You will support people through their journeys into statutory and voluntary services. The post holder will be expected to navigate local service provision, building strong relationships with a range of different professionals whilst advocating on the client’s behalf.

We will work with local partners to co-ordinate the care of clients to influence change in the way that organisations provide services to individuals facing multiple needs and exclusions. Applicants must have empathy with the client group and the ability to work within the ethos of Richmond Fellowship.

You will need to enjoy working with people, have a “can do” attitude and show commitment, resilience, empathy and good basic admin and IT skills. to effect system changes that can more effectively support those with complex and multiple needs and ensures that positive changes are made in the way that local services are provided.

You will work with individuals and their support networks to create personalised service plans, with the long-term aim to secure sustainable wellbeing, attend Operational Meetings to discuss clients’ needs and situations, enabling access to appropriate services and ensure that barriers are addressed so that service users can access suitable services. They will work with voluntary and statutory sector organisations to develop a personalised case management approach for homeless individuals with multiple and complex needs.

You will have experience of helping vulnerable people to identify personal goals and supporting them through a process of change, building supportive, trusting relationships with clients and working proactively with other members of the team to handle the service caseload and administrative responsibilities.  They will support clients to set personalised goals in the form of a Support Plan, conducting regular key work sessions that are innovative and engaging to achieve Support Plan goals and ensuring ongoing assessment and management of risks associated with clients within an attitude of ‘positive risk taking’.

This is a fixed term post that ends on 31 March 2025. There are two part time posts available requiring the post holder to work 18 hours per week. This role includes evening and weekend working.

To carry out this work you will meet women in the community in your designated borough and co-locate with other agencies including the National Probation Service, as well as regularly attending Advance’s North London vibrant Women’s Centre/office space.

You will be a creative self-starter who will support the service and look for innovative solutions to support clients with complex needs. You are confident professional relationship builder and has good awareness of Safeguarding procedures. About Black Thrive 

Black Thrive Global (BTG) evolved from the work of the Black Thrive Lambeth Partnership, which was established in 2016. We exist to address the inequalities that negatively impact the mental health and wellbeing of Black people so that the thriving of Black communities is the norm. 

Our guiding principle is that Black communities should be at the forefront of reimagining, redefining and co-creating a society where systemic racism and other oppressive systems have been dismantled so that they have fulfilling lives. Purpose of the role 

As the Programme and Partnerships Manager = Thriving Futures, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the implementation of the Thriving Futures programme, ensuring effective collaboration with partner organisations to advance Black Thrive’s mission. Relationship building with the localities teams is an important element of the role. 

The Thriving Futures workstream is undergoing a strategic shift, focusing on key areas identified during its three years of operation. This includes intentional co-learning, community feedback through Black Thrive Community Assemblies, development of community metrics, and refining our role and offerings as a backbone organisation. 
 
The role entails managing the programme’s day to day activities, ensuring alignment with the programme's objectives and goals, procuring additional funding resources and managing a Project Officer. You can anticipate working with different combinations of Black Thrive locality workstreams. Your responsibilities will vary, encompassing project management, financial oversight, strategic development, communications activities, as well as engaging in learning, reflection activities and research. 

The role also has responsibility for assisting in writing and delivering grant applications and bids to major funders to secure funding to support the work of the programme. 

Duties and responsibilities 

1. Lead on the planning, execution and monitoring for delivering the Black Thrive Global Thriving Futures programme and other activities related to the achievement of the programme objectives and milestones. 

2. Engage with and provide support to the Thriving Futures Collective partners (Lambeth, Haringey and Birmingham), staying informed about their activities and aligning initiatives with project requirements.

3. Develop and deliver comprehensive project plans, schedules and budgets to ensure timely and efficient delivery of projects. While maintaining meticulous administrative and electronic systems to ensure the fulfilment of key project deliverables and dependencies, aligning with project goals and timelines. 

4. Provide guidance, support and supervision to the Thriving Futures Project Officer responsible for supporting the programme’s operations.

5. Develop and execute fundraising strategies to secure additional financial resources for the Thriving Futures programme. Explore opportunities to package programme initiatives for income generation. 
    
6. Oversee data collection, analysis and reporting and lead on collaboration with partners to develop methodologies for transforming community feedback into actionable metrics. 
    
7. Assess and enhance support structures provided by Black Thrive Global as a backbone organisation, determining the needs of localities and the available support resources available.
8. Develop evidenced frameworks informed by locality learnings and research findings that contribute to creating nuanced models of race equity systems change. 
    
9. Identify and foster external collaboration opportunities and stay informed about relevant external projects, initiatives, research, policies and practices.

As a Housing Domestic Abuse Advocate, you will provide intervention, advocacy, and support to survivors of domestic abuse. Working within a fast-paced team, you will help empower women and ensure that the voice of survivors informs every stage of their journey towards improved safety. You will have your own caseload of survivors who hold social tenancies with local authorities or housing associations, and you will encourage them to engage with our service and ensure they have access to support. You will also co-ordinate the provision of multi-agency support which focuses on working with domestic abuse survivors to maintain their tenancies and prevent homelessness.

About You:

 

To be successful as the Domestic Abuse Housing Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:

You will bring solid experience of supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse in all its forms; coming from a sector with transferrable skills or possess a feminist/VAWG degree and be keen to learn and to train on the job. You will have a good understanding of violence against women and girls with a particular focus on the dynamics of domestic abuse (physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, so-called ‘honour-based violence’, forced marriage, stalking and harassment) and its impact on women, children, families, and communities. You will have proven skills and experience in conducting comprehensive assessments of needs and risk for survivors experiencing domestic abuse, including carrying out short risk management and safety planning. We will expect that you have experience in assessing the needs and safety of any children that women using the service may have and an understanding of the criminal justice system and relevant legislation with regard to legal and civil options, housing, benefits, matrimonial and children. Lastly you will bring your knowledge of safeguarding practice, procedures, and legislation.

With many skills and qualities to add to this role, if you have good IT literacy, data collection and monitoring these skills are maximised in your role. If you have experience or have been trained or are qualified in the fields related  to substance misuse, criminal jusice, law, social work or domestic abuse we would love to hear from you.

The Start for Life Programme aims to support families during the “critical first 1001 days”- from pregnancy until the child is two years of age. The Family Hubs and Start for Life Programme Guidance (DHSC/DfE 2022) recommends increasing workforce capacity and capability through the use of new workforce models that incorporate skill mix. The Research Fellow will join the team conducting the evaluation of these innovative models of providing early years services. The team is led by Oxford University and is being conducted in collaboration with Anna Freud, University College London, and Ecorys.

Additionally, you will play a key role in delivering the new partnerships, managing contract processes and negotiating terms and contracts up to £50,000 in value. You will maintain accurate records of new business activities and manage specific projects, coordinating communications, volunteering, and compliance monitoring. This position demands excellent administrative, negotiation, and customer service skills, alongside a strong understanding of the business landscape and experience in a charitable context.

You will be contracted to our London Hub, Haig House. Under our Future Working framework, there will be some flexibility for working remotely/at home, using our collaboration tools to work with colleagues but with a minimum expectation of two days/week connecting directly face-to-face with colleagues at the hub.
