Fundraising is instrumental in delivering that belief and the growth of fundraising income will be down to the new Director of Fundraising and their team to reach ambitious strategic objectives.
Teach First train teachers to work in the schools that need the most, equipping school leaders with evidence-led training as well as plugging education leaders into supportive professional networks.

Offered on a 12-month maternity cover, the Director of Fundraising will be responsible for the leadership of the Fundraising Department, its amazing team of fundraisers, and growing the supporter relationship portfolio across philanthropy, trusts and foundations and corporate partners. The team specifically see growth in major donor philanthropy and the Director of Fundraising will represent the organisation to inspiring stakeholders and build support for the charity.

To start in November 2024, the selected candidate will have experience of leading Fundraising departments at a senior level and will be an expert in managing high-value fundraising cycles; from prospecting, developing proposals and securing funding at the six and seven figure level. You will be an inspiring leader comfortable with change and will enjoy hands-on fundraising yourself too.

Your Profile

You will have a proven track record in securing significant and multi-year grants. Excellent written and verbal communication skills will be second nature to you, as will strong organisational skills and attention to detail. You will thrive in developing and managing both internal and external relationships with key stakeholders and be a creative and strategic thinker able to operate at senior level. This is a pro-active role where we will expect you to build a strong understanding of our projects and get to know our frontline staff and the communities we support.

The Development / Fundraising Consultant will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief of Staff to engage with new potential funders. We already have a development strategy and roster of leads. Your responsibility will be to identify additional potential funders, make introductions, help develop the right approach and request for each, facilitate growing relationships, and advise on the content of requests for funding. 

We seek someone with substantial experience (at least ten years) and a positive track record (at least USD$1 million) in climate change philanthropy and/or climate change fundraising. Familiarity with the key players in the field, self-motivation, and strong communication skills are also essential. As an independent contractor, you will control the details of your work: where, when, and how. We are interested in results. We expect you to be available for a few conversations per week with our UK-based team and to occasionally meet potential funders in the appropriate locations, with travel expenses paid by the charity. 

The Housing Income Manager is Refuge’s expert lead and responsible for all elements of housing income management for our accommodation, including the policy framework, service charge calculation and rent setting, housing income budgets, training and management of rent collection, reporting and ensuring that all the processes meet the high standards set by the organisation and regulations in place.

About the role:

Single Homeless Project's in house psychotherapy has secured further funding to provide psychotherapy/counselling and psycho-educational groups for young people (16-25 years old) who are using SHP's accommodation and support provision. The post provides a psychologically informed service to young people and the care teams who support them. 

We are currently looking to recruit a young person's psychotherapist for 6 months maternity cover, who will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team offering in person interventions which are preventions focused rather than crisis management. This will include both individual psychotherapy and psychoeducation group work, which will be co-produced, informative and enlightening on bio-social-physiological responses to trauma; for example abusive relationships, racism and poverty. 

It is highly likely this contract will be extended to 12 months after internal funding decisions have been made, this cannot be confirmed at this time but will be discussed further in interview with any shortlisted candidates. About you:

• Minimum one year's experience of providing psychotherapy/counselling young people.
• Experience of facilitating groups and understanding group dynamics.
• Understanding and experience of the difficulties faced by young people and especially of young people who have been in care.
• Ability to develop relationships with young people who can be sceptical of of interacting with professionals, and engaging in psychological support.
• Understanding and some experience of client co-production.
• Strong and clear interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
• High level of personal organisation, with the ability to plan and prioritise your work.
• Understanding and experience of anti-discriminatory practice.
