The job

We’re looking for someone to wear two hats. 

The first hat you’ll wear is that of a client lead. You’ll have full responsibility for the clients and projects that you and your team are working on. One day you might be working on ocean policy campaigns, helping technical clients adapt their language to make it engaging and influential, and in doing so helping to push the ocean agenda forward. The next you could be working with a not-for-profit, leading the creation of their brand identity, marketing strategy and overseeing the launch of their new website. 

We’re on the hunt for a seasoned communications strategist and a creative campaigner. You’ll be someone who feels at home bringing your knowledge and experience to any communications challenge: from campaign strategy to brand strategy, from policy communications to digital marketing.

You should be a creative thinker, a problem solver, and someone who knows how to run projects profitably – and grow client relationships at the same time. You’ll be able to build relationships quickly, with clients and colleagues. You’ll spot mistakes, tactfully ask difficult questions, and tell us and our clients how to improve things.

The second hat you’ll wear is that of a new business lead. You’ll work with the CEO, Head of Strategy and other colleagues to identify, respond to, and win new business opportunities. We’re looking for someone who has directly relevant experience here – so you’ll have had experience in new business for an agency or consultancy, or have supported that function.

You’ll have experience responding to RFPs (and hopefully winning them – definitely tell us if you have a good hit rate), you’ll be excited by the idea of travelling abroad to give presentations to prospects and convert them to clients, and you’ll have ideas about how we can improve our marketing to generate more inbound leads. Where some see new business efforts as taxing and draining, you’ll be energised by it, and see new business as a game that is fun to play, and win.

Key skills and experience

The core things we are looking for are:

• Minimum 6 years experience, with at least three years in an equivalent agency setting
• Have communications expertise in creating stories, shaping narratives and social/policy campaigns and/or public affairs
• Experience and expertise in brand communications and/or strategy development
• Ability to produce creative and engaging communication materials: reports, websites, social media and print

Project management

• Excellent account and project management skills

Thought leadership

• Write thought leadership articles for the CFC website, at least once per quarter, ideally one a month promoting our thinking and best practices
• Participate in CFC training and knowledge sharing (webinars etc.) 
• Attend events and conferences on behalf of the company

New business & sales

• Identify and respond to appropriate RFPs; lead pitch approaches
• Identify opportunities for future work with existing clients, write proposals to win that work
• Identify and pursue new leads
• Identify and shape new product offerings to take to market

About the CORPORATE FUNDRAISER role:

This is a remote role with occasional travel.

This role will provide both account management and new business support within the corporate partnerships function of the relationship fundraising team.

Reporting directly to the Head of Relationship Fundraising (which consists of corporate partnerships, community & events and philanthropy) the successful candidate will have responsibility for the account management of our small/medium corporate partnerships as well as supporting new business income for the team.

South West Surrey Domestic Abuse Service is looking for an Outreach Worker to support adult survivors of domestic abuse across Waverley/Guildford Boroughs and to also take the lead in advocating for our LGBTQ+ service (Surrey Pride Awards 2024). You might be part of the LGBTQ+ population and/or have experience of LGBTQ+ needs or the impact of discrimination. 

You may have experience of helping those who have been affected by abuse or other trauma. You will use your compassion and listening skills to provide emotional and practical support and help survivors feel safe and empowered. The role includes providing risk assessment, advice, advocacy, safeguarding and liaison with other professionals for example Police, Social Services and Local Authorities. 

As part of our adult outreach team, you will support all victims and survivors of domestic abuse living in our area no matter what their age, race, faith, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or class. 

We have built strong links across Surrey, raising awareness of our LGBTQ+ service that supports members of the LGBTQ+ population across the county. This includes creating a better understanding of their needs and challenges when affected by domestic abuse. We want someone who can continue this networking and advocacy work. You will be a strong communicator, a confident networker and able to understand and professionally challenge the views of others. 

You will be working 30 hours a week as part of our team of over 20 staff based on the edge of Guildford. The Role

About the Organisation

The charity is a mental health and emotional wellbeing charity, supporting Surrey residents since 1994 in Banstead, Elmbridge, Epsom & Ewell and Mole Valley.

Purpose of the role

Key Activities

• Gather the necessary information to complete key contractual paperwork throughout the project lifecycle, including contract set up and the prompt receipt and processing of client contracts. Work with the Finance Manager and relevant lead to ensure that invoicing schedules and billing particulars are up to date, that client specific activity reporting is completed accurately, and NDTi’s schedule for delivery is maintained.
• Maintain a schedule of project outputs and work to ensure reports, events and other deliverables are planned and delivered on time, liaising with colleagues across other work areas where needed.
• Plan, organise and effectively project manage regular events of both online and residential including at scale.
• Use existing and emerging technologies and established practices to set up and plan events, ensuring prompt co-ordination and confirmation of arrangements with venues, participants and presenters.
• Lead the process for delegate and stakeholder sign up, liaising with leads to ensure good representation and attendance levels are achieved. Work with the lead to ensure any specific requirements, for example, allocation of places and accessibility needs are managed and met.
• With the project coordinator, work to deliver the event on time and within budget. Keep leads updated, alerting them to potential overspend or other issues, such as take up/attendance levels that could impact the success of the event, as they arise.
• Actively update website and other source information about our team, our work, our events and our resources, ensuing they are up-to-date, and are in keeping with in house and project specific branding guidelines.

• Organise and lead on the booking process and internal organisation of CLS Network workshops and other Network-wide meetings.
• To manage all CLS invoicing ensuring data from contracts is transferred to an invoice and ensuring invoices are logged within the database.
• Collect data in relation to attendance across the CLS sites at Network wide events and workshops and provide regular reports to Network members and CLS team members as required.

About the role

This role is important in amplifying the work we do and furthering our influence with corporate enterprises, small businesses and the government. • Build and manage report landing pages on the website, incorporating UTM parameters.

Media relations

Stakeholder engagement

Main purposes of the job

• Managing The Vavengers social media channels. Mainly Instagram, X, and LinkedIn with development opportunities on Facebook and TikTok.

• Co-managing our Squarespace website, keeping it up-to-date and accessible for our range of audiences. 

• Creating a range of graphic design artwork in digital and print, including but not limited to: social media assets, event branding, marketing materials and educational resources.

• Planning and executing creative content across The Vavengers media channels. Telling the story of the organisation and our community, engaging with supporters and growing awareness on relevant topics. 

• Keeping our external-facing touchpoints up to date and on brand: website, social media, printed materials and merchandise.

• Providing or sourcing designed materials for the team and our community.

• Exploring creative engagement opportunities for The Vavengers.

• Being flexible and reactive to the needs of the small organisation, knowing when to prioritise your role or fulfil different tasks for the benefit of the team. 

• Documenting events and campaigning activities for social media and charitable marketing purposes.

This role will ensure all subsidiaries of the Group are following correct accounting standards and will lead on year-end accounting, Audit activity, external reporting and the preparation of consolidated accounts. About the role

As a Business Support Officer, you will support individual areas and provide positive and timely business support for the Care and Support function to meet their delivery of organisation business processes.
