Role Purpose

We are seeking a highly motivated, creative, and ambitious person to be a critical part of The Centre for Early Childhood team. The role will be highly involved in our exciting work with corporates following our Business Taskforce report launch in the Spring, as well as supporting the wider activity across the team.

You will drive the day-to-day delivery of a range of projects including campaigns, events, content, and partnerships. As you maintain the momentum day-to-day you will bring stakeholders along with you and always have an eye on the longer-term strategy. You will be comfortable prioritising workloads, thinking creatively and communicating plans to the wider team.

Key responsibilities will include:

· Working closely with the whole team to devise the plans to deliver ambitious, impactful work. This role is all about the ‘how’: connecting people, collaborating on a strategy, and making sure the work gets done.

· Thinking creatively about how all our activity has maximum impact and pushes our team towards our goals.

· Keeping the team on track and motivated, being clear on the key milestones and coordinating day-to-day activities – all to ensure delivery against the plan.

· Ensuring that work remains in line with agreed budgets and defined objectives.

· Identifying risks (both current and potential) and contributing to risk mitigation strategies.

· Coordinating and communicating with multiple stakeholders and partners to ensure everyone is aligned.

· During busy delivery phases, maintaining a meticulous attention to detail. 

· Adapting plans as needed throughout the process and sometimes at late notice.

· Playing an active role in the Centre team, working collaboratively to offer ideas on broader strategy and designing new projects.

We are recruiting for Enhanced Support Workers to join our dynamic service and team. You will be able to be creatively engage young people in order to minimise risks and increase their independence. Partnership working is the heart of supporting our young people and Enhanced Support Workers are required to build and maintain those relationships to coordinator the young person's support.

This role requires working on a rota pattern encompassing mix of shifts between 7:15am and 21:45pm including weekends. The service is open 365 days a year.

The job

We’re looking for someone to wear two hats. 

The first hat you’ll wear is that of a client lead. You’ll have full responsibility for the clients and projects that you and your team are working on. One day you might be working on ocean policy campaigns, helping technical clients adapt their language to make it engaging and influential, and in doing so helping to push the ocean agenda forward. The next you could be working with a not-for-profit, leading the creation of their brand identity, marketing strategy and overseeing the launch of their new website. 

We’re on the hunt for a seasoned communications strategist and a creative campaigner. You’ll be someone who feels at home bringing your knowledge and experience to any communications challenge: from campaign strategy to brand strategy, from policy communications to digital marketing.

You should be a creative thinker, a problem solver, and someone who knows how to run projects profitably – and grow client relationships at the same time. You’ll be able to build relationships quickly, with clients and colleagues. You’ll spot mistakes, tactfully ask difficult questions, and tell us and our clients how to improve things.

The second hat you’ll wear is that of a new business lead. You’ll work with the CEO, Head of Strategy and other colleagues to identify, respond to, and win new business opportunities. We’re looking for someone who has directly relevant experience here – so you’ll have had experience in new business for an agency or consultancy, or have supported that function.

Key skills and experience

The core things we are looking for are:

• Minimum 6 years experience, with at least three years in an equivalent agency setting
• Have communications expertise in creating stories, shaping narratives and social/policy campaigns and/or public affairs
• Experience and expertise in brand communications and/or strategy development
• Ability to produce creative and engaging communication materials: reports, websites, social media and print

• Write thought leadership articles for the CFC website, at least once per quarter, ideally one a month promoting our thinking and best practices

New business & sales

• Identify and respond to appropriate RFPs; lead pitch approaches

This is a remote role with occasional travel.

South West Surrey Domestic Abuse Service is looking for an Outreach Worker to support adult survivors of domestic abuse across Waverley/Guildford Boroughs and to also take the lead in advocating for our LGBTQ+ service (Surrey Pride Awards 2024). You might be part of the LGBTQ+ population and/or have experience of LGBTQ+ needs or the impact of discrimination. 

You may have experience of helping those who have been affected by abuse or other trauma. You will use your compassion and listening skills to provide emotional and practical support and help survivors feel safe and empowered. The role includes providing risk assessment, advice, advocacy, safeguarding and liaison with other professionals for example Police, Social Services and Local Authorities. 

As part of our adult outreach team, you will support all victims and survivors of domestic abuse living in our area no matter what their age, race, faith, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or class. 

We have built strong links across Surrey, raising awareness of our LGBTQ+ service that supports members of the LGBTQ+ population across the county. This includes creating a better understanding of their needs and challenges when affected by domestic abuse. We want someone who can continue this networking and advocacy work. You will be a strong communicator, a confident networker and able to understand and professionally challenge the views of others. 

You will be working 30 hours a week as part of our team of over 20 staff based on the edge of Guildford. The Role

The charity is a mental health and emotional wellbeing charity, supporting Surrey residents since 1994 in Banstead, Elmbridge, Epsom & Ewell and Mole Valley.

Purpose of the role

Key Activities

• Gather the necessary information to complete key contractual paperwork throughout the project lifecycle, including contract set up and the prompt receipt and processing of client contracts. Work with the Finance Manager and relevant lead to ensure that invoicing schedules and billing particulars are up to date, that client specific activity reporting is completed accurately, and NDTi’s schedule for delivery is maintained.
• Maintain a schedule of project outputs and work to ensure reports, events and other deliverables are planned and delivered on time, liaising with colleagues across other work areas where needed.
• Plan, organise and effectively project manage regular events of both online and residential including at scale.
• Use existing and emerging technologies and established practices to set up and plan events, ensuring prompt co-ordination and confirmation of arrangements with venues, participants and presenters.
• Lead the process for delegate and stakeholder sign up, liaising with leads to ensure good representation and attendance levels are achieved. Work with the lead to ensure any specific requirements, for example, allocation of places and accessibility needs are managed and met.
• With the project coordinator, work to deliver the event on time and within budget. Keep leads updated, alerting them to potential overspend or other issues, such as take up/attendance levels that could impact the success of the event, as they arise.
• Actively update website and other source information about our team, our work, our events and our resources, ensuing they are up-to-date, and are in keeping with in house and project specific branding guidelines.
• Assist the Marketing and Communications Manager and wider team to connect with partners, stakeholders and groups with an interest in NDTi’s work via online platforms.
• Organise and lead on the booking process and internal organisation of CLS Network workshops and other Network-wide meetings.
• To manage all CLS invoicing ensuring data from contracts is transferred to an invoice and ensuring invoices are logged within the database.
• Collect data in relation to attendance across the CLS sites at Network wide events and workshops and provide regular reports to Network members and CLS team members as required.
• Attend large gatherings in person, lead the setting up and liaison with the venue and provide the welcome and any support to participants to ensure they get the most out of the experience.

Be the Business was established as an independent charity in 2017 by a group of prominent business figures led by our chair Sir Charlie Mayfield, in response to the UK’s poor productivity performance. For more than fifteen years, the UK’s productivity growth has been negligible, and we have fallen behind many of our international peers. About the role

This role is important in amplifying the work we do and furthering our influence with corporate enterprises, small businesses and the government. You will shape our messaging and communications with stakeholders, especially through the production of our thought leadership and publications, as well as helping drive engagement with stakeholders through different channels including media and socials. You will work closely with the Head of the Knowledge Centre to provide the expertise needed to make this team a success.

Key responsibilities of the role

Thought Leadership Reports

Content Development

• Work across the organisation with other teams to create impactful content.
• Provide writing and editing support for thought leadership reports, ensuring high-quality content with a clear narrative, compelling headlines, and a consistent tone of voice.
• Provide detailed feedback when collaborating with freelancers.
• Create forewords for our CEO, ensuring alignment with the report’s themes.

 Design Collaboration

• Work closely with our design agency on the report's design, ensuring it aligns with our brand guidelines.
• Conduct a final edit of reports to ensure overall quality assurance.

Project Budgeting

• Monitor and manage the budget related to report production and promotion.

Promotion and Distribution

• Have ownership of the promotion and distribution of content and its tracking, so that we can learn what works and continuously improve.
• Develop and provide copy for social media posts, ensuring effective promotion of reports.
• Build and manage report landing pages on the website, incorporating UTM parameters.
• Create press release landing pages on the website and manage related media plans.
• Assist in devising and executing media plans for report launches.

Media relations

• Developing media relations strategy that includes National, Regional and Trade publications.
• Draft and pitch press releases about Be the Business’ work.
• Lead on reporting for media output, producing slides for review at team and management meetings.

Publications

• Lead the calendar of report publications for Be the Business, in coordination with the other parts of the organisation.
• Set and maintain tone of voice across any external publications.

CEO profile

• Lead on drafting speeches, op-eds, and commentary for the CEO including management of social media output.
• Produce and manage LinkedIn content and engagement.
• Develop and agree a strategy for raising CEO profile.

Stakeholder engagement

• Assist in organising and supporting events such as policy briefings, roundtables, and stakeholder meetings.
• Drafting communications to stakeholders including government and leading businesses.
• Contribute to the implementation of stakeholder engagement plans to support advocacy initiatives.
• Support the creation of content for the website.

As CEO Speechwriter and Profile Lead, you will be our CEO’s trusted speechwriter, media advisor and social media manager. You will help shape CEO commentary on critical topics,prepare briefings, presentations and speeches for events and media appearances, and engage CDP’s social media network with sharp and strategic commentary as we engage the world’s largest businesses, financial institutions and cities to disclose environmental data and take climate positive decisions.

As CDP grows its brand visibility and rolls out key developments to our disclosure platform,you will develop and implement successful CEO profiling strategies to ensure that our CEO is a consistent and compelling voice in the world’s most widely read publications, at key industry and public sector events, and to CDP’s stakeholder audience of corporates, financial institutions, local governments, market partners and policymakers.

This role will ensure all subsidiaries of the Group are following correct accounting standards and will lead on year-end accounting, Audit activity, external reporting and the preparation of consolidated accounts.
