Generalist HR Support  

• Support with all internal and external HR related queries, escalating when appropriate. 

• Manage the day-to-day HR activity on the employee life cycle across the organisation, including contractual changes, family leave, absence management and learning & development, with the support of our HR Administrator.

• Work with Head of People & Compliance to create and deliver training to staff and line managers 

• Support Head of People & Compliance in employee relations cases, including performance management and other formal processes 

• Be the key contact for all HRIS queries from staff and ensure all employee data is complete and up to date. 

• Support with the delivery of the People Strategy and employee engagement initiatives, including but not limited to annual salary review process, performance review processes and staff survey

Recruitment & Onboarding  

• Coordinate both internal and external recruitment processes, from job postings to job offers, providing a positive candidate experience for all applicants. 

• Manage and deliver the onboarding process for all new staff and volunteers, including pre-employment checks and coordinating the new staff induction and probation processes with our HR Administrator.

Compliance  

• Support the gathering of employee and organisational data, recording and storing personal data consistently and confidentially. 

• Support with the preparation of compliance-related guidance, policy documents and reports. 

• Setting up users on our training platform, allocating training, answering related queries and confirming completion. 

• Proactively identify and implement improvements to processes to ensure efficiency and engage teams in delivering these improvements. 

• Work with the Head of People & Compliance, and Director of Operations to meet the organisation's compliance targets, aims and objectives. 

Other Responsibilities / Tasks 

• Contribute to organisation-wide events and initiatives, including but not limited to the planning of Staff Away Days and ad hoc staff events and activities. 

• Uphold safeguarding and child protection policy and procedure throughout, including reporting safeguarding concerns and disclosures to the relevant DSL and uploading to MyConcern.

• Undertake any other reasonable duties as may be required.

Our Surrey Volunteer Recruitment Manager (VRM), who must be based in or very close to Surrey, works closely with VRMs in Herts and London and our marketing team to promote the MCR programme to organisations and individuals.  The purpose is to recruit committed volunteers who will mentor a young person in their school for one hour a week during term time. Role and Responsibilities

We are looking to recruit a law graduate (1-3 years post-graduation) with experience in environmental law, economic justice and/or international development to join our small but dynamic team. Depending on experience, the role will support our programmes challenging economic injustice caused by environmental damage, biodiversity loss, deforestation, illegal resource trafficking, climate change and conflicts over natural resources; promoting transparency and accountability in public and private institutions to encourage responsibility and minimise the impacts of corruption; and promoting fairer and more effective economic and fiscal policy tools to help states meet development goals and enhance the rule of law. A more detailed explanation of our work is set out in our 2024-2026 Strategy.

Working as part of a small, busy team, you will have the opportunity to learn at very close hand what it means to work for an international NGO focusing on achieving environmental and economic justice. You will develop projects with a range of partners, including international agencies, NGOs and CSOs, and governments and government bodies. You will collaborate with a range of volunteer lawyers (law firms and barristers chambers) who are leading experts in their field. The role will also involve project management, assistance with fundraising, fulfilling compliance obligations, and evaluating and learning from projects.

Key Competencies:

Key Responsibilities:
1. Work closely with the Senior Legal Managers and/or Legal Manager to deliver and implement the programme strategy, in conjunction with the Executive Director, partners, staff and Board;
2. Assist in developing an understanding of the most effective policy tools and legal interventions to deliver the programme objectives, through engagement with volunteer lawyers, ILP partners, staff, Board and others;
3. Support the building and maintenance of ILP’s programme(s). This includes:
• Liaising with partners to identify legal/policy needs and offer potential legal and/or policy reform solutions, including through conducting legal analysis;
• Assisting the programme lead(s) to build a pipeline of relevant projects and cases, including through engaging in outreach to potential pro bono partners;

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Major Gifts fundraiser to join the successful Development team at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew as Senior Development Manager, Major Gifts on a 12-month fixed term maternity cover contract. The role works as a key strategic partner to the Associate Director, Major Gifts & Individual Giving and leads the Major Gifts team of two Development Managers to ensure long-term growth of income from major donors and management of the overall Major Gifts pipeline. The post-holder will lead on the development and delivery of a major donor giving group around Kew’s Palm House restoration project and the continued development of a strategy for increasing income raised from donors in the US.

This role is based at Kew with the option of regular home working, subject to operational requirements.

You will need a strong track record of developing and maintaining successful one-to-one relationships with individual high net worth donors and a demonstrable record of meeting challenging financial targets. You will have a strong understanding of effective major-gift fundraising techniques, the motivations for high net-worth individuals, excellent analytical skills and judgement combined with a highly professional and diplomatic approach. You will have line management experience, and be a strong communicator with the ability to prioritise tasks and work calmly under pressure to meet multiple deadlines.

The role

We are looking for an exceptional Trusts and Grants Manager to play a crucial role in ensuring the ongoing success and expansion of our partnerships with trusts, foundations and statutory givers. Working closely with the Senior Trusts and Grants Manager and four more team members, this new role will lead on nurturing high-value relationships with prospective trusts who have capacity to give large funding to FareShare.

As the cost of living crisis pushes millions into food insecurity, and the world is faced with a climate emergency, the difference you can make by joining the Trusts and Grants Team is substantial. Our dual social and environmental purpose has never resonated more with partners and we have just launched an ambitious strategy to double the number of meals we can provide, amplifying our impact and presenting a compelling case for support.

The Trusts and Grants and Manager will take on the management and stewardship of a diverse portfolio of high-value funding relationships, while developing new partnerships with a range of givers. The role will also be responsible for managing and developing a Trusts and Foundations Officer to support team objectives.

You will be a strategic thinker, used to working with high value grant making professionals and trustees and with senior staff and stakeholders within your own organisation. You will have a strong track record in income generation and supporter stewardship and have excellent communication skills. Cross team collaboration is crucial to the role, and you will be able to demonstrate strong relationship building and influencing skills.

Main areas of responsibility

• Build relationships with portfolio of five and six figure trust supporters, understanding their motivations and tailoring opportunities and communications to cultivate strong, long-lasting partnerships.
• Foster a deep understanding of FareShare’s work and strategy to create persuasive fundraising proposals that inspire and solicit funds. This includes developing relationships across the organisation to build a sound understanding of FareShare operations and where support is most needed
• Champion and input in to the teams prospecting process, using your own research and sector knowledge to take new opportunities from identification through to solicitation, particularly focussing on those with multi-year and high value potential.
• Develop innovative and personalised stewardship plans, in collaboration with senior colleagues when appropriate, to deepen funder relationships. Craft compelling written communications including emails, proposals, and reports to showcase the impact of trust support and celebrate key milestones. Lead calls, meetings and visits to strengthen funder partnerships and engagement with our work.
• Provide supportive management to a Trust and Grants Officer, offering regular advice and guidance, identifying opportunities for development and monitoring performance objectives in line with the organisational and team strategy.
• Play an active role in developing and delivering the Trusts and Grants team strategy contributing to planning and management of team objectives, and supporting the Senior Manager to motivate the team and drive trust income.  
• Work with colleagues across the Fundraising sub-teams to maximise cross over opportunities between income areas.
• Maintain accurate records of partner interactions in our CRM system and shared files, and consistently update financial records and account plans.

This is a new role delivering reliable and responsible applications management to over 350 colleagues. You will have sound technical knowledge of applications security, performance monitoring, data management and reporting. Previous experience of some of our key systems including SharePoint, M365, Salesforce, UNIT4, PowerBI, Zendesk or Asana will be needed.

As Director of Policy and Influencing, you will be responsible for ensuring robust, evidence based policy positions and the development and delivery of campaigns(including media and public affairs) to drive positive change for older people in financial hardship. Having operated at a senior level, ideally as part of a Senior Leadership Team, you will be an inspiring leader with a demonstrable passion for our cause.  With a proven track record of successfully leading policy and influencing work that has resulted in positive change to policy or legislation, ideally in relation to older people or tackling financial hardship, you will have an astute understanding of the political environment.

This is a full-time role, 35 hours per week, which you can choose to work over five days or a 9 day fortnight.

Head of Data Portfolio

The Clean Air Fund is a global philanthropic initiative at the heart of the fight against air pollution. We are seeking an entrepreneurial and impact-focused strategic thinker to lead our Data portfolio.

As Head of Data Portfolio, you will be responsible for developing and delivering a strategy that ensures a lack of information is not a barrier to concerted action on air pollution. You will build a global, multi-million dollar portfolio of grants to deliver the strategy. You will manage a small international team and be key in ensuring that our growing organization is well-respected, ambitious and effective.

A solid technical background and understanding of air quality is desirable. But more than this, we are looking for a strategic thinker and strong collaborator: our ideal candidate will be someone who is comfortable in convening and learning from experts, who challenges ingrained thinking, and brings positive energy and agility to problem solving.
