Position Overview

Working closely with the Board and CEO, the Chair will guide the AOI's strategic direction while ensuring robust governance and sustainable growth.

Key Details:

•Reports to: Board of Directors

•Time commitment: Quarterly board meetings (2 hours each) plus approximately 16 hours monthly for strategic consultation

Remuneration:

£11,000 - £13,000 per annum, comprising of:

We are looking for a Community Fundraiser who is an excellent communicator and an energetic self-starter. You are comfortable with working independently, but ready to utilise the support of colleagues across the Fund. Above all, you naturally build rapport to quickly establish relationships and develop innovative partnerships. No one day will be the same and as part of the regional team, you will be the local face and voice of the Fund on the ground. You will quickly build your understanding of the key influencers in your community, and you will ensure they understand what we do so they will want to be associated with the charity. You will be responsible for raising income through existing networks of supporters, volunteers and building new relationships within the RAF, community groups and local business.

The role is primarily community based in East Anglia and requires travel around the region (Cambridgeshire, London Kent, Essex & Suffolk)  and occasional overnight stays. Some evening and weekend work is also required during the busier months at planned events when required. The candidate must have their own vehicle for use of traveling around the regions. Occasional travel to London will be required. The successful candidate for this role will need a full UK driver’s license; to be Basic DBS checked and prove they have the right to work in the UK.

How are staff supported to work remotely?

The Communications Lead will be responsible for our digital and social channels, developing compelling content and copy, as well as managing our media presence and working with journalists to secure coverage of our messages, research and reports.  There’s no such thing as a typical day: you could be involved in everything from creating a social post to explain the implications of a new policy, advising the team on new content ideas for the website, liaising with a national newspaper to comment on breaking news or managing the design of a key report for policymakers.

About the candidate

10.  Enthusiasm for, and commitment to, the aims and objectives of ASH and an interest in public health more broadly. Understanding of policy influencing and government relations would be an advantage, but not essential.

Working closely with the Social Media Content Creator and international team members, the post-holder will ensure content is disseminated effectively across various platforms, with a strong focus on audience engagement and alignment with audience personas. They will also be responsible for developing campaigns, overseeing social media analytics, and presenting insights in engaging ways to support the organisation’s mission of promoting awareness and dialogue on environmental and climate change issues.

Main Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the Social Media Content Creator to develop and implement Dialogue Earth’s evolving global social media strategy.
• Work with Dialogue Earth’s editorial teams in the UK, China, South Asia, Latin America, and Southeast Asia to promote content effectively and innovatively on platforms, including Bluesky, X, WhatsApp, Facebook, LinkedIn, and others as needed.
• Oversee and guide the work of the part-time Social Media Officer in Southeast Asia by providing task management and feedback.
• In partnership with the Social Media Content Creator, develop and manage campaigns, such as thematic weeks and awareness initiatives.
• Collaborate with the editorial and social media teams to produce audience-centric social media content, ensuring alignment with established audience personas and continuously improving dissemination strategies.
• Monitor, evaluate, and report social media performance through streamlined analytics processes, making stats accessible and engaging for the broader team.
• Ensure all social media activities align with Dialogue Earth’s branding guidelines and editorial tone.
• Keep track of social media trends, external news, and relevant content of interest to feed back to the editorial team.
• Manage online attacks and technical issues related to social media.
• Prepare and present social media insights for funder reports.
• Maintain oversight of social media budgets and ensure spending is tracked and reported accurately.
• Manage occasional social media advertising on platforms where feasible (e.g., LinkedIn).
• Develop and maintain the evolving social media strategy, with a focus on integrating audience personas into workflows.

• Language skills in Chinese, Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, Nepali, Spanish, or Portuguese.
• Experience working within multi-project organisations and collaborating with partner organisations.
• Experience managing social media ads and analytics reporting (especially on LinkedIn).
• Familiarity with content commissioning processes (writing briefs, research, etc.).
• The ability to work effectively with remote teams and manage task distribution.

Further Information and Benefits

• Salary: £36,035.70 per annum.
• Working Hours: 32 hours per week from 9am-6pm. We offer a four-day working week, with full-time pay.
• Contract Type: 12 months, with a view to renewal.
• Hybrid Working: Staff must attend the office at least two days per week. Attendance is mandatory on Tuesdays and staff can choose which other day(s) they attend.

About this job

In this role you will be providing emotional support and information to people affected by multiple sclerosis (MS) that empowers them to; live to their full potential, take an active role in their treatment and secure the care and support they need. As part of the helpline team you will also contribute to the overall implementation of the teams objectives and successfully embedding new services.

Our helpline is open 9am – 7pm and therefore this role includes working a shift pattern of 9-5, 10-6, 11-7 or as the service demands.

Please note this is a fixed term 12-months maternity cover contract. This role is full time, part-time hours (28 hours +) will be considered.

About the role 

This is a new role and sits in the Fundraising and Digital Directorate. The Fundraising and Digital function is responsible for all the charity’s fundraising, brand, website, social media, emails and lead generation campaigns.
