About the Role

The Head of Services will be responsible for overseeing the effective delivery, performance, and quality assurance of a range of our mental health services in Tower Hamlets, Newham, and Redbridge.

Working closely with the Director of Services and other key stakeholders, you will inspire and lead a team of Service Managers and coordinators, providing them with the guidance, encouragement and support needed to deliver high-quality services.

This key role focuses on continuously improving services and keeping our service users at the centre of everything we do, with innovative approaches to meet their changing needs. Your leadership will be crucial in building strategic relationships with partners and stakeholders, improving service delivery, and promoting collaboration across the board.

Moreover, as a Designated Safeguarding Officer, you will lead the highest standards in ensuring the safety and protection of service users, providing expert safeguarding guidance, supporting staff, and liaising with external agencies when necessary.

Key responsibilities:

Developing and executing digital campaigns and engagement strategies:

• Spread awareness about GNDR and inspire people to take action through strategic digital campaigns and innovative tactics.

  • Own our social media strategy, turning audience members into active participants—whether as action takers, volunteers, or donors.

  • Utilise organic social media growth by creating viral, shareable content.

  • Identify and capitalise on digital action opportunities to quickly recruit large numbers of supporters.

• Lead and manage comms volunteer teams, including design and social video teams, providing guidance and support, ensuring they clearly understand the strategy and their roles.

  • Facilitate regular check-ins, feedback sessions, and training to maintain high performance.

  • Coordinate team efforts to align with overall campaign goals and timelines.

Storytelling and content creation:

• Write captivating copy for our website, social media, emails, and other channels, maintaining our authentic narrative and tone.

  • Develop and test effective messaging, narrative, and framing strategies to stay relevant and impactful in the ever-changing digital and political landscapes.

• Create visuals, graphics, and videos that enhance our storytelling, including editing and iterating alongside our brand guidelines.

Digital advertising:

• Manage paid advertising campaigns, primarily on Instagram and Facebook, to reach and engage target audiences.

Website Management:

• Work with the Digital Organiser to enhance our digital infrastructure, ensuring efficient and effective supporter journeys.

Key skills and experience - you will:

• Be a communication champion, you will have relevant examples of content you’ve created across different media.

• Have developed and deployed social media strategies.

• Have an eye for creative detail, creating content across different platforms, with relevant examples of graphics, videos, reels that you have produced.

• Be able to interpret data to identify trends and adapt communication strategies to changes in the environment.

About the role:

The role of Homicide Caseworker is varied, demanding and rewarding; no two days are the same and you will thrive on this challenge. You will need to be extremely organised and able work independently and as well as being a pro-active, supportive member of a team open to developing your personal resilience.

You will work closely with the Major Crime Police Units, Senior Investigators and Family Liaison Officers, you will provide a pivotal role to support clients through the Criminal Justice System. You will provide support to families by phone and Zoom when their usual Homicide Caseworker is unavailable. You will complete needs assessments, and will coordinate and deliver a tailored package of support alongside our commissioned providers and other key stakeholders.

You will be driven to make a difference every day with the ability to focus on the needs of vulnerable service users. You will have resilience and adaptability; understand the importance of professional boundaries; have excellent listening skills and the ability to demonstrate empathy. You will enjoy the challenge of a busy caseload and will be able to demonstrate the excellent organisation skills essential to managing a demanding and diverse workload.

As a fully trained Homicide Family Caseworker you will be responsible for managing your own complex caseload to the highest quality standards. This role is part of our remote working team and so you will be home-based, however you will need to be able to travel to work meetings and to attend training as required.

Julie’s Bicycle (JB) is seeking a Consultant (organisation or individual), experienced in understanding and analysing strategic impact drawn from varied programmes of work. The Consultant will work collaboratively with JB’s Senior Leadership Team and programme teams, to lead the development of an Impact Framework and associated measures and methodology. This innovative role has been created to respond to recent demands for an integrative approach into support delivery of vulnerable adults presenting a severe and enduring mental illness and/or a forensic background, at times in combination with substance misuse.

The post holder will lead on creating a therapeutically informed programme in order to develop a Psychological Informed Environment in the service.

The role would suit an experienced counsellor/psychotherapist who will lead in facilitating therapeutic groups and individual counselling /therapy for service users. On the other side provide support to the staff team in developing their psychological understanding and raising awareness in the emotional impact of working with this client group.

What you'll do:

Adopt and implement a Psychological informed Environment in the service.
To support the team in carrying out holistic assessments on appropriate support plans, and comprehensive risk assessments in full consultation with service-users, their families/carers and other agencies.
To liaise with the multi-disciplinary team working collaboratively to ensure that full information is given (in case of risk) to enable a robust assessment of service-users.
Lead on staff team debriefs following any serious incidents, develop workshops to assist staff in managing stress and wellbeing in the workplace and advise the manager on supportive interventions for the team as a whole
Lead on team reflective practise sessions as well as other creative activities for the team to aid reflection, insight and best practise.
To ensure recovery focused support plans are reviewed, evaluated and amended in accordance with changing needs, presenting risks and individual preferences in order to promote recovery with an attitude of 'positive risk taking'.

What you'll bring:

Essential:

Degree level qualification in counselling or psychotherapy
Minimum of 2 years experience in working in a mental health setting or other specialist social care services
Demonstrable experience of support work with people with support needs.
Experience of providing individual therapy and an understanding of risk management.
Demonstrable experience of engaging vulnerable adults with mental health needs/challenging behavior/substance misuse
Leadership skills in supporting team development.

Desirable:

Knowledge of group therapy;
Experience of working with vulnerable adults who are undergoing a period of crisis
Bring expertise in specialist areas such as dual diagnosis, substance misuse, hoarding or therapeutic interventions.

As the Senior Technical Adviser, you will bring your expertise, researching skills and commitment to prioritising girl-led approaches to programming research and advocacy. You will work closely with Women’s Right’s Organisations (WRO), Girls’-led Organisations (GLO), Federation Members, girl-researchers, and AAUK advocacy colleagues to co-create the Girl-led Action follow up to Girl-led research. This will involve working with girls to bring about the change they want to see through their research findings.

A key purpose of the technical advisers in the team is to provide policy, advocacy and influencing advise and technical advice to support resource mobilisation and programme quality (when expertise is not in the Federation). Another key purpose of this role is to strengthen AAUK’s reputation as an organisation taking an intersectional feminist, evidence-informed, and decolonial and anti-racist approach to girls’ rights’ research and action, programming and resourcing.

The post holder will have strong, practical experience in developing, supporting, and evaluating the impact of intersectional research led by girl and programming on Girls’ Rights in particular programming that supports adolescent girls’ leadership, reproductive health, prevention and response to harmful practices impacting girls (including early forced and child marriage and FGM/C), gender equality within schools and communities, girls economic rights, and community mobilisation to prevent and respond to violence against women and girls.

• Demonstrable experience of project management across a range of direct marketing channels including print & digital. 

• A strong track record of campaign planning, including ideation, proposition development, campaign execution and channel optimisation. 

• Experience of sourcing compelling content for utilisation across both online and offline channels. 

• Experience of working with creative, print, digital and media agencies, collaborating with them to get the best results. 

• Experience of using social media to target, communicate with and engage
