The Rugby Portobello Trust (RPT) is a North Kensington charity that has been supporting children, young people and families from all across west London since 1884. Through arts, sport, music, mentoring and support in academics, employment, mental health and wellbeing, we help children and young people in our community to overcome barriers to reach their full potential. We have a team of around 40 staff members and we support more than 1,300 children, young people and families every year. We run services six days per week and we are supported by more than 200 volunteers and 1,500 local funders. To do this, we are recruiting for a Director of Youth and Family Services to lead and manage operational service delivery and the delivery of our outreach and community engagement in and around west London. The Director will ensure the delivery of excellent services through innovation and co-production and foster an organisational culture that strengthens our brand and stays true to the values and mission of RPT and P3 Charity. You will embed a people-first, values-based ethos and maintain an environment where safeguarding is central. The successful candidate will have grass roots experience relating to youth work with an understanding of the challenges that face young people. In addition you will have experience of developing and delivering youth/family services having worked at a senior and strategic level. You will have led on change management and transformation projects, with demonstrable experience of managing and leading teams effectively. A people person at heart, you will enjoy working in a busy, vibrant environment with the ability to build relationships at all levels and be confident acting as an ambassador for the charity. You will be solutions focused and well versed in providing operational leadership in a similar environmental, with a good understand of the complexities and challenges that face a youth/community organisation such as RPT. You will ensure the wellbeing and safety of all stakeholders and staff and be able to demonstrate experience of having done this previously in a leadership role. Every year over two million people visit The Migraine Trust website for the most up to date information, and thousands contact the helplines for information and support on all aspects of migraine. The Migraine Trust campaign for increased awareness and understanding of migraine, better access to treatment, and national policy change to improve the lives of people who get it.
The Information Manager will coordinate and develop a range of health information needed by the migraine community and people living with migraine to raise awareness to both members of the public and health care professionals. The role is also responsible for ensuring the information on the website is up to date and coordinating and managing Patient Information Forum renewals.
Key responsibilities
- Produce and maintain quality health information: You will manage and update health information, scope, plan, and create new content in consultation with stakeholders, and identify target groups to produce materials to meet their needs. You will work within the Information and Support team constantly communicating with colleagues working on front line services to ensure the information being produced is in line with service users needs. You will also be responsible for managing the organisations PIF processes and assessments.
- Engage with the migraine community: You will hold focus groups to understand information needs, build strategic partnerships to disseminate information effectively, and support staff learning and knowledge-building about migraine.
- Support communication and dissemination: You will work with the Communications team to create accessible information formats, provide content for videos, blogs, and other communication channels and regularly monitor and report on the impact of information provision.
- Research: You will act as the key point of communication for the research committee, manage administrative duties for research funding applications and grants, and coordinate research meetings and liaise with funded researchers for project updates.
- Represent and support the charity: You will represent The Migraine Trust at external events and build relationships with healthcare professionals and stakeholders.
The Information Manager will have solid experience of communicating complex health information to audiences in written and online formats, as well as proven experience of producing information from the research stage through to writing, external review and liaising with designers. The successful candidate will have the ability to gain an in-depth understanding of medical and health related information, including research and critical analysis skills to develop an evidence base. You will have experience working within a health communication environment, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, and meticulous attention to detail with demonstrable editing and proofreading skills. You will have the ability to liaise with key stakeholders, be a self-starter with an ability to work independently and as part of a team and be able to work to tight deadlines. You will have knowledge and understanding of the benefits of patient engagement to produce health information.
The role is home-based with meetings in London once every 3 months which will include overnight stays and some ad hoc national travel. All travel/overnight expenses are covered. About this role
The Senior Business Development & Fundraising Coordinator will work as part of the Fundraising and Business Development Team at RedR. This role will focus primarily on generating institutional funding, but will also include to a lesser extent some work with trusts and foundations, corporate funders and individual funders. - Ideally, a relevant degree or professional qualification in CSR or social impact.
- Expertise in social value measurement frameworks used in the public sector.
- Understanding of technology's role in driving social innovation.
- Experience in managing complex projects and influencing outcomes with stakeholders.
- Familiarity with ESG frameworks and their application.
- Strong IT literacy, including proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to work with confidential information and meet strict deadlines.
- Positive, supportive attitude with a collaborative and flexible approach.
- Previous experience in a social value role or not-for-profit organisation is desirable.
