As Director of Development, you will work closely with our Chief Executive and Director of Operations and Services to expand VAL’s revenue streams, nurture key partnerships, and enhance our brand and reputation as a sector leader. In addition to providing operational leadership and management of your teams, your role will focus on growing revenue through our VALUES Learning Disabilities Service, VAL Spaces – Building Tenancy, Meeting Rooms, Conferencing Sales and IT Service ensuring ongoing sustainability, growth and success of VAL. You will develop and implement a business development strategy for VAL that supports growth in direct services, aligned to our Vision and strategic plan objectives.

With at least two years’ established senior management experience in development, implementation and delivery of strategic priorities you will need to demonstrate sound understanding of the challenges that the VCSE organisations face. A strategic and analytical thinker with financial acumen you will need to show the ability to turn ideas into action.

With excellent presentation and influencing experience, your communication style will be inclusive and self-assured. You will need to demonstrate resilience, and flexibility, together with drive and determination to play a key role in our future. You will be able to talk authoritatively about inclusive involvement, barriers which lead to discrimination and exclusion and be able to implement working practices that support equity and diversity. Knowledge of the voluntary sector and/or Learning Disabilities and/or Social Care is highly desirable.

You’ll need to be highly effective in building meaningful relationships with a wide demographic of stakeholders and ideally have demonstrable experience in business development and tenders, bid writing and building corporate partnerships.

THE ROLE 

NEA is looking to appoint new Warm and Safe Homes (WASH) Advice Line Co-ordinator posts on a full time (37 hours per week) basis; but we are happy to receive applications from candidates who may wish to work part time hours as we would be prepared to appoint posts as job share opportunities. WASH Advice Line Co-ordinators will be the first point of contact for vulnerable householders who are contacting the charity for a range of energy related advice matters. Co-ordinators will need to be empathetic, polite and have good listening skills but may also need you to be assertive and confident in order to provide support to clients, some of whom may be in difficult circumstances. 

Whilst call centre or customer service experience will be advantageous, empathy and an ability to understand client needs is paramount and our training will give successful candidates the knowledge to succeed in the role.   

The post holder’s main responsibilities will be to deal with customer and partner emails, calls, live chats and off- line tasks. These will include:    

• Provision of day-to-day support to our customers and partners (referral organisations) on any queries, or issues, through answering telephones calls and emails.   

• Process, resolve or escalate client queries within the WASH and wider team in line with the internal process.   

• As a WASH Advice Line Co-ordinator, you’ll be in the front line of the provision of solutions to client queries and issues as part of a wider team.  

• Maintenance of appropriate client records and necessary data using client management systems to ensure the progress of work towards project targets is monitored and that project outcomes are fully recorded.

The post holders will be responsible for the delivery of a range of projects which will demonstrate good practice in delivery of affordable warmth for low income and vulnerable householders.

The posts sit within the Communities Directorate and are part of a dynamic and caring team of professionals who go the extra mile to support their clients, some of whom may be in difficult circumstances.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED 

You should be able to demonstrate understanding or experience of energy efficiency, you will be empathetic and be a good listener – as well as demonstrable experience of responding to the needs of clients in direct contact settings.  You will have the ability to work with a wide range of people and demonstrable experience of working with vulnerable householders, low income and/or other disadvantaged groups.

You will need excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with a range of communities and individuals.

An awareness of the environmental, social and economic problems of deprived areas and the roles of the public, private and voluntary sectors in tackling them, is desirable, although not essential.

NEA has several office locations throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and welcomes applicants from all regions.  Home working and office-based locations are available depending on proximity to a NEA office. We now look to appoint a Chief Financial Officer who will report to the Chief Executive with a very specific brief aimed at ensuring we can maximise the return from the very significant investments we have made in product and technology and the recent acquisition of the Institute of Paralegals.

Key Accountabilities:

• Enhancing the capability of the finance function to operate independently of direct supervision in the day-to-day execution of core activities, processes and reporting

• Ensuring that the supporting technology is fit for purpose and enables the minimum amount of ‘double handling’ or reprocessing in core finance processes

• Taking ownership of working capital and developing a programme of debt re[1]payment that strengthens our balance sheet and enables further investment in product and technology

• Ensuring that the IT department and the core systems it supports are fit for purpose and exploited to the maximum to deliver lowest cost technology support for products and services

• Maximising the return from our cash assets over the long-term

• Ensuring a successful annual audit and the preparation of the Annual Report & Accounts

• Ownership of the risk appetite, risk management process and internal audit

• Ownership of the annual plan and budget process and the reporting of performance to the executive and the Board.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Fundraiser to join our fantastic team of fundraisers who work tirelessly to raise funds for Young Lives vs Cancer. This role sits within the Philanthropy and Partnerships team. The team are incredibly friendly, supportive and full of ideas about ways they can support the Partnerships division.

Our current portfolio of partners include charity of the year, commercial and brand partnerships, strategic and pro bono. This role will be leading on our long standing, multi million pound partnership with J D Wetherspoon.

What are we looking for?

To drive our plans and maximise fundraising opportunities across our most successful corporate partnership; we are seeking a passionate, energetic, and strategic individual to join us.

Because this is a contract role, we are ideally looking for someone with existing account management experience in the sector who is able to hit the ground running.

• Management of corporate partners – lead the management of our biggest corporate partner, ensuring that agreed targets and objectives, including financial targets and partnership extensions, are met or exceeded wherever possible. Through exceptional storytelling, communication and presentation skills to engage and inspire senior decision makers and thousands of employees within the partnership.
• Leadership skills in order to inspire your direct report and collaborate effectively with colleagues from across the charity. 
• Agility in order to react quickly to new, sometimes unforeseen opportunities and deliver results. Planning and budgets - produce annual plans, budgets, KPIs and partnership plans

- Financial Accountability: Revenue budget of £7m annually; Capital Programme of approximately £30m (phased £10m per year over three years)

What we’re looking for in our Associate Director of Capital, Estates and Facilities:

- An experienced, qualified Estates & Facilities Management professional with:

- Proven experience at a senior management level in a large, complex organisation, demonstrating strategic and operational leadership

- Strong background in contract negotiation, estates management, and compliance in facilities

- Knowledge of large service contracts, experience of successful contract negotiation and long-term contract management

- Specialist knowledge regarding compliance issues in estates, fleet and facilities

- Experience in capital planning and development with an ability to lead significant change management projects

- Expertise in environmental management, health and safety, and budget oversight.

- First degree or equivalent professional award in appropriate Estates and Facilities Management

You will also demonstrate:

- Leadership qualities with the ability to influence and inspire a diverse team

- Strong analytical skills and project management expertise

- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, fostering positive relationships

- Ability to challenge, confront and turn around any adverse performance

- Confidence to advise Senior Leadership Team and Board of Trustees

What we’re looking for in our Advocacy and Government Relations Officer for Wales:

- Experience of advocacy, public affairs or influencing work (which may include campaigns), ideally in Wales

- Lives within a commutable distance of Cardiff or willing to relocate to the area

- Experience of policy work and research

- Experience of dealing with high profile/ VIP individuals e.g. Ministers, MSs, MPs, MSPs, MLAs, Government Officials, Local Councillors and officers, corporate executives; professional organisations

- Proven ability to multi-task and work independently on own initiative, accurately and under pressure

- Experience of effective use of social media and the internet in an advocacy/campaign context
