About the role:

This role is 12 months fixed term, home based, working 37.5 hours per week Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. Travel within England and Wales may be required.

As the Client Account Manager, you'll be instrumental in building and nurturing relationships with organisations who we deliver training to. Your responsibilities will include understanding their needs, serving as their primary contact for inquiries, and researching new opportunities. A key focus of the role will be promoting training options to universities, the private sector and other organisations and services.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role, providing an excellent opportunity for the right person. Previous account management experience is not a prerequisite. Instead, we value transferrable skills such as marketing, sales, community development, community engagement or stakeholder management. World Jewish Relief created the Specialist Training and Employment Programme (STEP) for refugees in 2016 and today we are the largest provider of specialist employment support to refugees in the UK.STEP aims to support and empower people with experience of forced migration through a tailored employment programme that addresses the complex barriers refugees face in preparing for, and ultimately finding, work in the UK.

STEP for people seeking asylum is an exciting new specialised programme, working with people in the asylum system by providing high quality advice and guidance and delivering group pre-employability workshops. The post holder will play a pivotal role from the start of this programme in its first year of delivery.

You will prepare participants for employment (where appropriate) and help them to achieve their chosen training and employment objectives. You will work to a variety of performance targets based on the progression outcomes of participants such as successful delivery of workshops, completion of training courses, volunteering, and achieving and sustaining paid employment.

The STEP Employment Advisor will work remotely, and can be based anywhere in the UK, however you will need to be able to travel regularly for community outreach, engagement and workshop delivery. 

About you

• Proven experience or knowledge within the refugee employment sector
• Understanding of the issues and challenges faced by unemployed people seeking asylum when accessing pre-employment activities or employment (when they have the right to work)

The client is currently working with 33 schools and 33 churches in developing discipleship pathways for children and young people in Bolton. One key aspect of this project is the ‘Shades Project’, which focuses on racial justice and faith, supporting schools and churches in developing a culture for all children and young people, regardless of racial background, to thrive and flourish. In response to the exciting growth of the Shades Project, they are looking to appoint a Shades Schools Worker, to support the growing opportunities for Christian discipleship, and to embed the Shades ethos, in primary and secondary schools and parishes in Bolton deanery.

The Shades Schools Worker will work with the Shades team, in primary and secondary schools, delivering Shades Collective Worship and Shades ‘Safe Space’ workshops. They will also lead Shades Ambassadors groups, for those children and young people who are passionate about growing in their understanding of racial justice, the Christian faith and becoming courageous advocates. The Shades Schools Worker will also work with Bolton parishes and mission communities to promote the Christian message of God’s love for all of his children, encouraging children, young people and adults to celebrate their God-given identities and to grow spiritually.

The Shades Schools Worker will have many opportunities for training and development, as well as the creative freedom to develop initiatives for children and young people. They will work within a highly motivated and supportive team, who are committed to prayer and to welcoming children and young people into the life of the church.

The post holder should have experience of volunteering with children or young people in a church and/or school context. They will have a good knowledge of anti-racism and racial justice and a strong passion for a combined focus on the Christian faith and racial justice as well as experience of working with diverse communities.

To succeed, they need to be enthusiastic, relational, self-motivated and able to lead in a range of different contexts. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Area Support Co-ordinator to lead, manage and support teams of volunteers, develop, and maintain relationships with local services, and ensure that people living with and affected by MND receive an exceptional service, improved support, and are at the heart of our care initiatives.

Our current Support & Outreach (S&O) team is managed by our S&O Programme Manager and comprises two part-time S&O coordinators who have lived experience of aplastic anaemia. Lived experience is hugely important to us but is not an essential criterion for this role.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This opportunity is for a permanent contract, starting immediately, with a six-month probation period. You will work 14 hours a week during core working hours, your working hours can be arranged flexibly to suit you although we will require you to attend staff meetings which take place on Thursday mornings.

THE APLASTIC ANAEMIA TRUST

The Aplastic Anaemia Trust is the only UK charity providing information, advice and support to people affected by rare disease Aplastic Anaemia. Our vision is that everyone affected by Aplastic Anaemia in the UK should feel empowered and have access to the best possible treatment, care and support so they can lead full and healthy lives. We support our community through one of life’s toughest challenges – diagnosis with a rare bone marrow failure. We currently support around 2,400 people and have around 30 volunteers.
