Learning Disability Community Caseworker

Do you have experience in giving money or energy advice? Are you organised and can manage a varied workload? Yes, we may have the role for you.

Mencap's advice service are looking for a Learning Disability Community Caseworker that specialises in delivering energy and money advice using video calling, telephone and email advice and face to face in the community. 

This is a fixed term contract until March 2026, working 30 hours per week. We are flexible to where you do your work, but there will be an expectation of travel to our Peterborough office or community venues when needed.

Working with three other Energy and Money Advice Caseworkers - you will:

· Offer clear accessible advice to people with a Learning Disability, their families and carers.

· Manage a caseload of your own clients.

· Create, book and deliver workshops, events and webinars on Money and Energy Advice.

· Identify and undertake safeguarding alerts, following up on these and challenging them if necessary.

· Ensure that the caseworkers are at the right locations, with the right stock and equipment ensuring cost-efficient travel and venue planning/booking and excellent time management.

· Working with Subject Matter Experts in other nominated advice areas, to refer cases in and out of other parts of the team when the clients need more than Money and Energy Advice.

· Communicate effectively and accessibly, with empathy and clarity.

· Assist with the monitoring and evaluation of the project, capturing K.P.I's and flagging any slippage.

About the role

The Programme Development Manager will provide high quality project information to both internal and external stakeholders, extracting and quality assuring project data relevant for reporting, and making sure all projects are compliant with donor requirements. You will proactively manage relationships with existing donors, developing engagement strategies, sharing key information, and laying groundwork for follow-on funding. Finally, you will lead proposals for new and existing donors, coordinating inputs from Hand in Hand International and network colleagues, drafting technical inputs, and engaging with funders where required.

The ideal candidate will have an innovative approach and a strong track record in fundraising from large institutional donors; trusts and foundations, corporate foundations and governments. The main objective of the role is to identify, prospect and approach new institutional donors, converting them from prospects to secured funds. The role will be roughly 70% fundraising and 30% grant management.

As well as a demonstrable track-record securing large, multi-year grants from different types of funders, you will have experience with their thematic areas: women’s economic empowerment, value chains, livelihoods or enterprise acceleration. Experience working in development projects in Eastern Africa: Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe. Experience in Afghanistan would be a plus.

As a Multiple Disadvantage Refuge Worker, you will work with women residing in refuges across 7 Pan London boroughs. Your responsibilities will include devising support plans that address their immediate practical and emotional needs and initiating the recovery process. You will connect women with more specialist support services as required. The role involves conducting risk assessments, creating safety plans, and identifying support needs such as accessing benefits, budgeting, and exploring resettlement pathways from the refuge. You will also promote social inclusion, encourage independence, and foster the development of personal resilience. Building a support network for women and promoting engagement with other services is a key aspect of this role.

About You

We are looking for someone with relevant experience in providing specialist support services to women and families with multiple needs. You should have casework experience in offering proactive and emotional support to women who have experienced domestic abuse, aiding them in their recovery and rebuilding their lives. Experience in multi-agency working and maintaining a professional manner is also essential.

Concern Worldwide (UK) is looking for a Direct Marketing Executive - Cash and Alternative Gifts to join the Public Fundraising Team in the London office on a permanent basis.

About the role:

We are seeking to recruit a Direct Marketing Executive - Cash and Alternative Gifts to sit within our Public Fundraising Team. The post holder will be responsible for successfully managing and reviewing donor recruitment and development campaigns in order to maintain and grow income to Concern Worldwide (UK) from individual regular and cash donors.

About You:

You will have experience of working successfully with external suppliers or internal stakeholders to deliver direct marketing campaigns. You will possess strong planning and project management skills and you will be highly numerate with the ability to demonstrate analytical skills. The successful post holder will have excellent written skills including experience of writing and editing emails.

About our office:

Our London office is based in The Foundry close to Vauxhall and The Oval underground stations. The Foundry offers a unique opportunity to be a part of a vibrant and ambitious community focused on social justice and human rights.

Staff are expected to come into their base office once per week or the monthly equivalent i.e. 4 times per month. Staff are also able to flex their start and finish times between the hours of 7am to 7pm daily.

Status: Permanent. 35 hours per week, will consider 4-days a week
Salary: Band 6 (London), £53,457.00 per annum FTE 1.0. Includes 30 days holiday plus bank holidays (and an additional 3 days leave for Christmas org-wide shut down).

This is an exciting opportunity to manage the delivery of key elements of NCB’s SEND and social care contracts with external agencies and to increase the capacity of NCB and CDC, fulfilling current contractual obligations including stakeholder engagement and practice improvement programmes in relation to SEND and social care, as well as seeking new opportunities in relation to social care policy and practice.
