We are looking for someone with a breadth of communications skills and strengths. Our communications directorate encompasses 18 people, and the director of communications has responsibility for two direct reports and sits on our executive management team (EMT), also helping to shape strategy and development across our 100-strong organisation. As director of communications, you will play a pivotal role in developing and strengthening our communications directorate. This will include ensuring we operate in an integrated way across our communications, policy and strategy, development and engagement and corporate services and finances directorates, enabling us to build on our success as an outstanding membership organisation.

You will provide strategic leadership for the organisation’s communications, marketing, media, digital and design functions, providing high level advice and support to the chief executive, deputy chief executive, chair and board, as well as playing a key role as part of the NHS Providers director team.

The West Midlands team are seeking a Fostering Panel Vice Chair to support the Chair in conducting monthly virtual panel meetings held on third Wednesday of the month via Microsoft Teams.

In line with our values, we expect each panel member to ensure that all decisions are made regarding the interest of ‘children in care,’ foster carers, and the community in which they live.

The successful candidate may need to travel to West Midlands area to attend occasional in-person meetings and attend 2 training days per year. 

As a Fostering Panel Vice Chair, you will be able to evidence:

• Your understanding of the fostering process and practice within the legislative framework or similar.
• Have at least 2 years’ experience of sitting on a fostering panel.
• A history of employment experience at team manager level or above, ideally in a social work or family placement setting.
• Having substantial experience of chairing meetings.
• An ability to evaluate complex reports and assessments while maintaining clarity within the decision-making parameters.
• The capability to develop, monitor and maintain policies and procedures to the highest standard within TACT

As a Fostering Panel Vice Chair your duties will include:

• Occasionally chairing Panel meetings, in the absence of the Chair, ensuring that multifaceted issues are thoroughly considered and recorded, having undertaken thorough preparation for meetings.
• Co-ordinating and directing the work of the Fostering Panel and ensure the quality of foster carers recruited, meet relevant standards.
• Facilitation of the active participation of all panel members alongside the Chair of Panel.
• Regular liaison with the Chair of Panel, decision-maker and with other senior managers as required.
• Participation in the recruitment, selection, and induction of new panel members.
• To assist the Chair in regular planning of training for and appraisal of panel members and support with Ofsted Inspections as and when required.

A Standard DBS clearance is required for this role. This check will be undertaken by TACT on your behalf. The successful applicant will be engaged on an office holder basis and be required to have professional membership to a social work body if they are currently a practicing social worker or other professional.

As a Store Manager you will manage the day to day running of our Crouch End Branch, leading a team of colleagues to maximise store sales and profits. Some but not all key responsibilities are:

• Ensuring stock is generated over the door by members of the public and donors sign up to the Gift Aid scheme.

• Maintain a high standard of presentation, both in the windows and the interior of the Store.

The Development Manager will lead on research, funding applications to trusts and foundations, and proposals to companies while also delivering quality impact reporting. As an integral member of the Development Team, the Manager will maximise donor income and working relationships from existing grant makers, stewarding RBS funding partners of £100k per annum.

You will have proven experience of securing income from grant funders, ideally above £50,000 total each year and will enjoy each milestone in the application, stewarding and reporting journey with each funder. You will have experience of creating bespoke reports and funding copy too.

About the Role:

This team are a centre of subject expertise and will also ensure we have well defined and consistently applied approaches to supplier management across the Mass Engagement department.

In this role, you will actively manage a small portfolio of strategic fundraising service suppliers, ensuring contractual requirements are met, as well as defining and monitoring service levels (SLAs) to ensure performance is maintained.

• Effectively lead, manage, and motivate the Supplier Partnerships team, ensuring each member of the team makes a full and effective contribution to the organisation
• Maintain a network of key stakeholders within WaterAid, ensuring that their needs and responsibilities relating to supplier management are understood
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement or efficiency gains where these contribute to the overall supporter experience

About the Role:

In this role, you will drive the production and analysis of the quarterly restricted funding KPI reports, use your analytical expertise to ensure data quality and accuracy, and identify opportunities to improve our restricted funding management information tools. You will also contribute to the socialisation of our underlying restricted funding business process, in collaboration with the wider team and the WaterAid Programme System team.

You'll also:

• Lead on the bi-annual development, production and detailed analysis of restricted funding Key Performance Indicator reports (KPIs) for restricted income generation and management with support from the Power Bi team and liaising with key stakeholders.
• Support the Head of PFP in funding data analysis for board reports and adhoc reporting requests.
• Lead on the production of restricted funding reports to support the organisational performance framework and/or as required to improve visibility and accountability of restricted funding performance
• Lead on identifying restricted funding data quality checks and controls to ensure WAPS restricted funding data is as clean as possible and liaise with the relevant WAPS team lead to support on regular data audits.
• Regular review and refresh of restricted funding management information tools to ensure they are useful and innovative.
• Ensure business processes for restricted income generation and management are up to date and inclusive of any new best practice approaches such as cost recovery and co-financing management initiatives
• Ensure all RFP training documents/guides contain up to date WaterAid Programme System (WAPS) references to reflect any changes in system protocols.
• Work with the RFC Advisors, Finance, Strategic Partnerships and other teams as needed to establish how relevant sub-processes and systems currently work or do not work, how they may need to change and how other changes may impact them. Propose solutions, implement, document and communicate them.

About You:

To be successful, you'll need:

• Ability to use, understand and manage complex data sources: ability to extract data and identify and resolve inconsistencies that will impact on data accuracy and financial KPIs
• Strong Microsoft Excel/numerical capability and good PowerPoint skills
