We are looking for a part time Information & Advocacy Community Support Worker in Scotland, home based in North Scotland (Inverness or surrounding area due to travel requirements and location of NHS services).

You will ensure that service users (children and adults) and their families, receive high quality support, from the point of diagnosis and throughout their journey, and will assist them to access funding, equipment and care and support that they are entitled to. You will join a team that makes a real difference to the lives of the people living with muscle-wasting conditions, and their families, in Scotland. The role will be primarily home based, but there will also be a requirement to attend outpatient clinics within the region, attend home visits where appropriate and to support responding to queries through the helpline and information inbox. Some travel will be required to attend meetings and events outside of Scotland. You will work with both statutory and voluntary organisations, clinicians, and health and social care professionals to ensure that people living with muscle wasting conditions get the care and support they need to live well and independently.

A specialist Arts University based in central London is seeking an IT Support Manager for a full-time permanent role. The organisation is a prestigious arts focused University with around 600 students. They have two sites – one being the main teaching campus near Kings Cross, the other an art gallery with some teaching capacity, on the Strand.

The role is paying a starting salary of £50,942 per annum plus an excellent package including a leading pension and 36 days annual leave. The role will be based onsite predominantly at the Kings Cross site – working from home 1 day per week may be considered.

Reporting to the Head of Information Services, Systems & Technology (ISS&T)  and working in a small IT team of around 5 people, this role line manages 1 IT Support Officer and takes the lead on the service delivery aspects of the IT team. This covers frontline user support and managing the daily operations of the IT function. The organisation predominantly deploy Windows devices, but they have an increasing number of MACs so experience of supporting IOS would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will come from an IT Support/Manager background, should have experience managing small teams, and should have a strong user focus and service delivery background. Experience from within the Higher Education, Arts, Charity, or Membership sector would be advantageous for the role. The role will also involve the development of a new asset management tool and leading on a telephony focused project.

The post holder will:

-Manage the Service Desk for both sites and the relationship with the 3rd party providers 
-Monitor and report on existing service to assist in developing the IT & AV Support Service 
-Provide professional and technical leadership and operational management to the IT Helpdesk team with a dotted line to the AV Support team
-Implement service standards and develop common systems and processes based on industry best practice.

-Manage and maintain IT asset information 
-Ensure documentation and alerts are publicised and maintained on the IT Services Hub 
-Manage increased IT service delivery required to support new and existing students during Welcome Week and the beginning of each new academic year

Candidate requirements:

-Degree level qualification and ITIL qualifications desirable 
-Recent proven experience of leading and developing an effective IT Support team and helpdesk service in a complex environment. Including setting targets, identifying training needs and delivering development plans
-Good technical knowledge of various hardware and software technologies including Windows, desktop PCs, laptops, mobile devices, printers, MFDs, Microsoft OS, Mac OS, Microsoft Active Directory, M365, and Adobe.
-Recent experience in a Service Delivery role with experience of managing, allocating and monitoring IT support tickets, setting KPIs to improve service delivery, managing underperforming teams and suppliers, setting up new services such as staff onboarding, asset management, procurement etc & managing 3rd party suppliers
-Experience or an interest in the higher education, arts or charity sector advantageous

In this role you will provide operational line management and support, to staff who work with and help our members, and all callers, whether self-referred or referred by other charities, or statutory agencies, ensuring that we continue to provide the highest quality of services and facilities at all times.

You will have: 

• Extensive experience of working in a charity / community development and / or social care setting, at Team Leader, or Assistant Manager level;
• Clear understanding and confidence of the role and responsibilities of a service manager, within the sector:
• Similar knowledge and skills in regard to the application of relevant structures, policies, procedures and regulatory standards (such as ‘Safeguarding’, Data Protection’, ‘Charity Commission’ requirements, etc);
• Proven ability to effectively manage, motivate and develop a skilled staff team and our volunteers. And effectively deliver and oversee appraisals and relevant training for staff and volunteers;
• Proven ability to manage and resolve complaints and enquiries, whether from staff, ICS Members, or from the public;

• You will be based at our Head Office in Bexleyheath and your hours will be 9-5pm, Monday to Friday. 
• Your hours will be flexible, with the understanding that you will be required to work occasional ‘unsocial hours’ (evenings / weekends), to provide support to funding and social events;

The Comms Assistant will:

• create inspiring and impactful content to raise our profile and grow our network
• assist with developing ideas, research, planning and creating content for day-to-day social media comms and project work
• write and manage external communications
• support team members across the organisation to help create and edit content, promote our work and build our profile
• develop a social media schedule that strategically highlights different aspects of our work each week/month via written, image and video (long and short-form) content on social media, our website and our newsletter. . 

This is a mixed and self-directed role with opportunity to contribute to a range of work and projects. We require some core office hours, by agreement and support team members to work flexibly to accommodate good work/ life balance.

Communications

• Identifying opportunities to engage through websites, blogs and social media
• Support implementation of social media strategy ¥ Schedule and post content on social media platforms (primarily Twitter/X, LinkedIn, also Instagram, BlueSky, YouTube)
• Collaboratively generate and develop creative ideas for social media content—including written material, image and video content ¥ Identifying opportunities to engage through websites, blogs & social media.
• Update website copy and other content (using SquareSpace)
• Format documents in line with the company brand guidelines
• Generate creative ideas for social media
• Research trends across platforms (content, sounds, filters, keywords)
• Support team members to produce reports and presentations
• Identify potential marketing opportunities with aligned organisations and individuals
• Writing accurate, brand-appropriate copy for social media posts, newsletters, website content etc 

General 

•  Be a point of contact and support team members
• Support online events and manage bookings
• Provide basic IT support to team members
• Work with our team and partners to enable Neurodiverse Connection to run efficiently in line with the overall company aims

Are you driven to campaign for better access to vital support and services? Are you passionate about advocating for those who need their voices heard? We are looking for a dedicated Senior Campaigns Officer to join our team and drive positive change for the MND Community.

Working closely with our National Campaigns Manager and Public Affairs Manager to plan, develop, and deliver impactful campaigns that improve access to essential support and services for people living with and affected Motor Neurone Disease (MND). You will collaborate with colleagues in the Services and Partnerships and Policy and Campaigns teams to identify challenges and failures in local services, turning these insights into powerful integrated local campaigns that bring about meaningful change.

Working with volunteers is a crucial aspect of this role. Engaging with both online and offline volunteers, you will provide them with the tools and support they need to amplify our campaigns. By creating compelling campaign assets, such as emails, toolkits, and reports, you will help to ensure our message reaches a wide audience.

You will represent the Association in collaborations with external stakeholders, including coalitions, to further our campaigning goals. Your efforts will contribute directly to the planning, execution, and evaluation of campaigns and events across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, ensuring we meet our objectives, deliver against targets, and make a tangible impact.

Additionally, you will support the Policy & Campaigns Assistant in managing correspondence and enquiries, ensuring people living with and affected by MND are not only heard but are actively involved in shaping and delivering our campaigns. By working closely with colleagues across the Association, you will help to increase our profile, reach, and engagement, ensuring that our campaigns are as effective and far-reaching as possible.

Hybrid Working Expectations: 2 days per week office attendance

(Flexibility to attend the office more regularly on occasion may be required to meet business needs.)

What are we looking for?

Experience in developing, planning, and delivering effective campaign strategies that drive real change. Your experience will include creating compelling campaign materials and engaging a range of campaigning actions.

Experience of managing or working with volunteers in a campaign setting (or equivalent volunteering experience) is essential.

You will have excellent communication skills, and be confident in presenting ideas clearly.

You must be proficient in Microsoft Office, and flexible in your working hours, including evenings and weekends. Regular travel within the UK will also be required, with occasional overnight stays.
