About the role

To  lead our administrative systems efficiently and effectively as well as provide support to the Inclusion London staff team, consultants, projects and the wider organisation.

Alongside providing effective day to day administration, the Administrative Coordinator will also support the planning and delivery of a key part of our work: varied programme of accessible training and events we run for London DDPOs and Campaigners to strengthen their capacity to tackle inequality and promote human rights.

This position offers a unique blend of responsibilities for someone with a proactive attitude where no task is too small. You will have experience of carrying out varied and high-volume administrative roles with excellent organisational skills and ability to undertake multiple tasks.

Abianda is a London-based social enterprise that works with young women and girls affected by criminal exploitation and violence, and the professionals who support them. We aim to bring about a culture shift in how services are delivered to young women and girls, so that they can access support that works for them when they need it. 

We are looking for a passionate person to join the team as our new Training & Development Officer. The role will involve delivering training (both in-person UK-wide and online) and supporting in the development of content. Our training is aimed at a range of professionals working within local authorities, social services, health, education, policing and criminal justice agencies, and third-sector organisations.

Details of the role:​

• Salary: £30,756 per annum pro-rata, plus pension (reviewed annually)

• Provisionally a part-time 0.6 FTE (21 hours per week), developing into a full time role over time (however we would consider a full-time appointment straight away for the right person)

You will provide an effective high quality support service in an accommodation setting, working with clients facing Multiple Disadvantage, and living with complex needs.

As Changing Lives Programme Coordinator, you will be supporting people with lived experience of homelessness to apply for grants which help them fulfil their employment goals. In addition, you will encourage members to access further wraparound support and assist with ongoing evaluation. The role is varied and exciting; you’ll be at the centre of working with and uniting our Crisis members, Skylight teams, and network of enterprise contacts towards creating fair access to opportunities for people with lived experience of homelessness.

The Role

What will I be doing?

• Leading the Skills team as a whole, including direct line management of three line reports.
• Supporting the leadership of the broader Learning & Skills department and the Head of Learning and Skills, as a core member of the departmental senior management team, including helping lead the department through the current period of change.
• Scoping and leading highly collaborative skills projects, working with key internal and external stakeholders, to grow our evidence base and profile, and drive impact through working with and through partners (including national and regional governments).  This is likely to include:
  • Research and stakeholder engagement to better understand the barriers to physics-powered sectors being able to meet their skills needs, as well as targeted work within the physics-rich technical qualification landscape (including relevant T-levels and physics-related apprenticeships).
  • Developing regional and national policy recommendations, and associated policy advocacy to influence change, and
  • Establishing and leveraging partnerships with organisations to address the identified barriers.
• Providing strategic leadership and pastoral support (via the team leader) to the recently established team of regional Influence and Engagement managers, including supporting and enabling the matrixed ways of working with strategic sponsors of their work across the wider organisation.
• Embedding a new contracts centre of excellence, to support more effect partnership working across the department.
• Managing a budget of c. £80,000 - 100,000.

Projects you work on may include:

As a senior manager, you will have oversight of a portfolio of skills-related projects and activities, for example:

• Strategy development to shape the over-arching future direction of our skills work over the remaining strategy period,
• Collaborative research and policy projects, to identify the barriers and opportunities to physics-powered sectors, and
• Representing the IOP and advancing our agenda at external boards and fora.

You will likely play more of a lead role in a smaller number of flagship initiatives, alongside a broader strategic direction setting and oversight role of the portfolio of skills activities as a whole.                         

In addition, as part of the department’s senior management team, you will likely play a lead role in activities such as:

• Departmental and team development and culture-building initiatives, and
• Corporate activities, such as budgeting and business planning.

Who will I work with?

• A range of external stakeholders and potential partners. This includes: physics-powered employers (business and academia), skills stakeholders and partners (such as other learned societies, institutes, representative bodies and civil society organisations with aligned interests), and local, national and regional government representatives.
• The Head of Learning & Skills and the Learning Manager together as the senior management team of Learning & Skills; and the over-arching Director for Science, Innovation and Skills.  There will also be a need to work with the wider Executive Team on flagship initiatives.
• A wide range of other internal stakeholders (as noted in the job description) including senior managers and leaders across the wider organisation.

CPAG is looking for a welfare rights expert to manage our Early Warning System.

With a new government in place this is a great time to join the Advice and Rights Team at CPAG as we look to influence policy makers and parliamentarians and support the advice sector in delivering a fair and comprehensive social security system in the UK.

The Early Warning System (EWS) collates evidence of long-term concerns and developing issues within the benefit system, from the advice sector and beyond. EWS evidence is used to develop and promotes improvements to the benefits system with our colleagues in the Policy Team, as part of our work to end child poverty.

The EWS officer will actively promote the EWS, encouraging contributions from advisers and claimants. The EWS officer will record and analyse case studies as well as the issues which arise on our advice services, to provide insight on the impact of changes to the benefits system and evidence for our campaigning and research work.

You will play a key role in responding to calls for evidence and consultations, and liaison with the DWP and other policy makers. You will work closely with the advice sector through publications, briefings and events such as seminars and conferences, to increase advisers’ awareness of the concerns highlighted by the EWS and to promote solutions to support claimants.

Peaches Womb Cancer Trust was founded in 2020 by a team of enthusiastic and dedicated researchers, doctors and nurses working alongside Professor Emma Crosbie. Since then, the original founders have been joined by invaluable volunteers and 2 staff members to ensure we can raise awareness, support patients, fund and promote womb cancer research.

Womb cancer, also known as endometrial and uterine cancer, is the most common gynaecological cancer in the UK. Affecting approximately 9,700 people annually, most are diagnosed over 50 years of age and have gone through the menopause, but womb cancer can affect younger women too. When diagnosed at an early stage, womb cancer is often treatable: when diagnosed at early stages, 1 and 2, the survival rate is 92%. However, when the disease is diagnosed at later stages, 3 and 4, the survival rate reduces to 15%. Currently 1 in 5 women, or people with a womb, are diagnosed at advanced stages. Latest figures show that the equivalent of 27 people every day are receiving a new womb cancer diagnosis and 7 people are dying from this disease every day in the UK. Peaches want to change that and save lives. We can't think of a better way to spend your time and deploy your skills. 

We are looking for a senior leader to build and develop our small organisation. 

Role Overview:

As the Operations Executive at Peaches Womb Cancer Trust, you will play the lead role in the efficient and effective delivery of our charitable and organisational aims. Reporting to our Chair of Trustees, you will work with autonomy and be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our charity, managing our small team of dedicated staff and volunteers and driving our fundraising initiatives to enhance our impact and sustainability as an organisation.

Key responsibilities:

· Leadership: providing effective line management, empowering others, working collaboratively and fostering open and clear communication at all levels of the organisation.

· Project Management: target driven, supporting the planning and design of projects, monitoring and evaluating performance, with the ability to work flexibly within wider changing and unpredictable environments.

· Fundraising: drive significant growth of the charity over the next financial year through existing and developing new opportunities.

· Financial management: work closely with the Finance Trustee to develop the annual budget, monitor monthly cash flow and check and report on levels of income and expenditure.

· Organisational growth: monitor the quality and quantity of services delivered, their outcome and explore opportunities to expand and develop the aims of Peaches Womb Cancer Trust.  Collaboration with external organisations.  Lead recruitment and expansion of our small team, as, required.

· Representation: present at board meetings, external organisation and steering groups and be the lead representative of Peaches Womb Cancer Trust.

· Governance: Assist the Board of Trustees on all matters relating to their legal obligations and charity law compliance including health and safety and safeguarding.

Senior Direct Marketing Officer

We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Direct Marketing Officer to manage and deliver our Cash and Raffle programme. Within this role, you will be responsible for the recruitment and retention of cash and raffle donors and for managing the two Direct Marketing Officers on the projects to deliver this area of our programme.

We are looking for someone to maximise income in line with set targets and within the context of the overall Cash and Raffle programme. You will undertake wider projects to optimise the programme in line with overall strategy and plans. A key part of this role will centre on recruiting good quality donors to ensure the future income of the programme and provide a pipeline of regular givers and Legacies, identifying new recruitment channels and testing opportunities.

You will work with the local police to provide home security interventions for older residents who the police report need support, and you will work through our existing community services to find appropriate older people for the project. Using your locksmith and maintenance experience you will advise and carry out home safety and security checks throughout Lambeth (note: you must have your own transport). 

1. You will possess problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve lock-related issues. 

2. Ensure accurate installation and repair work.

3. Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and provide clear instructions.

4. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the local police and community safety organisations.

5. Attend local events to network and promote the service and create referrals. 

6. Able to carry out home safety assessments to identify areas of risk within the home and provide information and advice to help protect people at home and their property. 

7. Using our Podio system, record all 1:1 interactions and the beneficiary's experiences. 

8. To maintain records and monitoring statistics of all advice and information provided in line with Age UK Lambeth policy and procedures and in line with the monitoring requirements for MYneighbour. 

9. To maintain the confidentiality of all service user records.
