Disrepair Surveyor

The Disrepair Surveyor will provide specialist technical and surveying support across Westminster City Council’s housing stock, with a primary focus on housing disrepair, responsive repairs, building defects, damp and mould, leaks and insurance claims. The role will ensure defects are accurately diagnosed, works are properly specified and cases are resolved within legal and operational timescales, minimising risk and improving outcomes for residents.

The postholder will carry out pre- and post-inspections, investigate building defects and produce technical specifications and CPR35-compliant reports where required. They will manage disrepair cases through to completion, working closely with legal teams, residents and contractors to progress Schedules of Works, Court/Tomlin Orders and remedial works within agreed deadlines.

A key part of the role will be managing damp, condensation, leaks and water ingress, ensuring root causes are identified and appropriate remedial works are completed. The postholder will also identify recurring defects and investment requirements to inform planned and preventative maintenance programmes.

The role will include repairs contract and contractor management, including monitoring WIP, quality and performance, assessing variations, approving expenditure within delegated limits, managing follow-on works and ensuring contractors meet contractual and technical standards.

The postholder will work directly with residents and internal stakeholders, managing complaints, arranging inspections, providing updates and ensuring repairs are fully resolved. They will also support insurance claims by identifying insured works and providing technical information to the insurance and legal teams.

The role requires strong knowledge of housing disrepair, building defects, repairs surveying, contractor management and relevant housing legislation, alongside an understanding of HHSRS, the Housing Disrepair Protocol, Landlord & Tenant legislation, CDM and health & safety requirements.

Core responsibilities

• Manage housing disrepair cases from inspection through to resolution.

• Conduct pre/post inspections, defect diagnosis and technical reporting.

• Produce specifications and CPR35-compliant reports where required.

• Manage damp, condensation, leaks and water ingress cases.

We are working with an established arts and education charity to recruit a new Head of Finance and Operations.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small, ambitious organisation delivering a range of artistic, educational and community programmes. The charity receives income from a diverse mix of public funding, trusts and foundations, individual giving, sponsorship and commercial activity.

Sitting within the Leadership Team and working closely with the Director, this is a genuinely broad role encompassing finance, operations, governance, HR and organisational management.

A key part of the role will be leading the charity’s financial management and planning. You’ll manage the annual budget, produce quarterly management accounts and cash-flow forecasts, oversee VAT returns and work closely with external accountants and auditors on the year-end accounts and audit. You’ll also work with budget holders, senior colleagues, trustees and the Finance, Audit & Risk Committee to ensure strong financial management across the organisation.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have previous experience working within a small charity or similarly sized not-for-profit organisation. This isn’t a role where finance sits in isolation – you’ll need to be comfortable getting into the detail, working across different areas of the organisation and balancing strategic responsibilities with the practical realities of working in a smaller charity.

Strong charity finance experience will therefore be important. You’ll need to understand the complexities of restricted and unrestricted funding, be confident managing and reporting against different funding streams and have a good working knowledge of Charity SORP.

Experience of dealing with funders and their different reporting and monitoring requirements will also be particularly useful.

Alongside finance, you’ll oversee a varied operational remit including building and office management, HR processes, organisational policies and governance. You’ll also support the Board and committees, take responsibility for company secretarial duties and maintain relationships with key funders and stakeholders.

This role would suit someone who enjoys the variety that comes with working in a small charity – practical, organised and collaborative, with the confidence to operate at leadership and trustee level while still being happy to roll their sleeves up when required.

We are looking for a high-calibre candidate who will enjoy working each day with young people and who will thrive in a frontline, community-based, fast-paced and rewarding role. You will be taking up a permanent role as Centre Leader at our IntoUniversity centre in East Ham. You will have responsibility for running your IntoUniversity centre, including managing your team, planning and delivering the programme, liaising with external stakeholders and meeting IntoUniversity’s targets for delivery.

A substantial element of this role is delivering our education programme to children and young people aged 7-18, so you will need to have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for working with young people, including leading a class of 30 from the front, working with small teams of children and providing one-to-one support.

As trusts and foundations manager you will be a crucial part of the fundraising and communications team, and work closely with senior colleagues across the organisation to develop and win major grants to support our work.You will manage an existing portfolio of trusts and foundations that provide both unrestricted and restricted donations, ensuring all reporting and renewal deadlines are met. Importantly, you will be a self-starter and will build your own pipeline to hit income targets this year as well as identifying a pipeline for following years. You will work closely with colleagues across fundraising, ensuring a joined-up approach between institutional trusts andfoundations, corporate foundations and family trusts.

About the Role

This is an opportunity for an experienced IPS Team Leader, Senior Employment Specialist or Service Manager to use their expertise to improve the quality and impact of Individual Placement and Support services.

Working with IPS teams, commissioners, health system leaders and national stakeholders, you will provide practical support, mentoring and quality assurance to help services deliver high-fidelity IPS and achieve strong employment outcomes.

The role involves significant travel across London, alongside remote working.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting regular in-person and virtual visits to IPS services
• Coaching and mentoring IPS Team Leaders and Employment Specialists
• Supporting services to improve performance, quality and fidelity to the IPS model
• Leading IPS fidelity reviews, guided self-assessments and follow-up action planning
• Working with commissioners and health leaders to identify barriers and improve service delivery
• Supporting workforce planning, performance management and outcome forecasting
• Building strong relationships with regional and national stakeholders
• Supporting services to improve data quality and reporting
• Facilitating learning networks, workshops, webinars and communities of practice
• Supporting the delivery of racially equitable IPS services and measurable improvement plans

About You

You will have recent leadership experience within an IPS service at Team Leader, Senior Employment Specialist or Service Manager level, alongside comprehensive knowledge of the IPS model and its practical application.

You will also bring:

A strong track record of improving IPS performance and employment outcomes

• Experience working with stakeholders at both operational and strategic levels
• Strong knowledge of IPS fidelity, implementation challenges and best practice
• Experience supporting positive change within services or systems
• Confidence navigating performance and quality conversations

The Societies Development Manager will work collaboratively across the Student Experience directorate to empower student leaders to run impactful activities for their peers - removing barriers to engagement wherever you find them. They will be responsible for leading major events across the Union and project managing key cross-departmental initiatives such as our annual awards celebrations. The successful postholder will be there to expand our programmes, fostering vibrant and inclusive communities and ensuring all students can access the amazing opportunities extra-curricular opportunities available to them no matter what their level of experience.
