About the role

Are you a passionate and dedicated practitioner ready to lead a vital service supporting survivors of violence against women and girls (VAWG)? We are seeking a caring and experienced individual with an uncompromising and intersectional analysis of gendered violence, to lead Women and Girls Network’s (WGN) Sexual Violence Helpline Team.

WGN is committed to providing innovative, trauma-informed, and culturally appropriate support to survivors of VAWG. Our Sexual Violence Helpline offers emotional support and information to survivors of sexual violence aged 14 and above. As the Sexual Violence Helpline Manager, you will lead and develop our Helpline service, ensuring consistent high-quality, survivor-led support. You will provide leadership, guidance, and support to your team, ensuring our service is responsive and effective.

You will lead and support the Helpline Practitioners and Volunteers, ensuring shifts are resourced. You'll oversee day-to-day operations and safeguarding issues, promote and represent the service internally and externally, and ensure accurate record-keeping and data analysis. We are now looking for looking for an experienced and dynamic Pan-London Specialist Housing Caseworker to join our highly successful Advice Casework Service.

The Advice Casework Service provides trauma-informed, intersectional, woman-centred, rights and strengths-based advocacy and advice that supports survivors on their unique journey of healing and growth. The work is delivered through a commitment to an anti-oppressive, feminist framework that strives to address additional barriers and meet the diverse range of survivors needs, understanding the specific support needs of each survivor. We are passionate about social justice and being part of dismantling systems and structures which oppress survivors, and Caseworkers play a key role in identifying current issues affecting survivors in London and opportunities for change.

As a Caseworker you will work with young women (18-30) who have experienced any form of violence against women and girls (VAWG), providing medium and long-term practical, emotional and advocacy support. You will amplify young women’s voices and create a non-judgemental and creative space where survivors are free to be their authentic selves, safely explore their rights, options and impact of their experiences, and make informed choices about their future. You will manage a caseload of young women, as well as lead in delivering our one-off drop-in specialist practical support to sessions to young women as part of the Voice and Choice Project.

About you

The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing specialist advocacy support to young people, have an excellent insight into the needs of survivors of VAWG and to be passionate about delivering creative face-to-face sessions to young people. Vision for the role

Migrant Democracy Project (MDP) envisions a society where all migrants at home in the UK hold collective, political power to shape a society rooted in justice, freedom, and solidarity. 

We are looking for a full-time Community Organiser to organise first-generation migrants in the UK towards migrant justice through electoral and community organising. The organiser’s work will connect across 3 streams: voter registration; advocacy & campaigns; and political empowerment. 

Whether it’s engaging migrants at a voter registration stall, supporting migrant communities to organise in the electoral space, or strengthening a local campaign - the lived experience of first generation migrants is at the heart of all our activities.

We are looking for an experienced organiser who is passionate about migrants’ rights and democratic reform to start working as soon as possible.

Who funds the role?

The role is funded by a grant from the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation.

Contract

This is a fixed term contract, 2 years (with the possibility of extension depending on future grants), £32,000 pro rata, with an immediate start, including NI and 3% employer pension contribution.

We are looking for an organiser who can work full-time hours flexibly, including evening and weekend time where events require. When work is carried out by any Migrant Democracy Project employee outside normal working hours, time off in lieu is applied.

Location

Migrant Democracy Project does not have a physical office. The Organiser will work flexibly from home on administrative tasks and be expected to work in-person when necessary to deliver voter registration, training, informative, advocacy and campaign activities, as well as representing MDP at relevant events.

Responsibilities

• Build and implement an organising strategy for MDP in collaboration with members of our community.

• Identify and lead on outreach activities and events with first-generation migrant communities where there is scope for building power in their local areas.

• Identify, train, and support community leaders to participate and shape MDP’s Our Home Our Vote campaign for the extension of the right to vote.

• Support the delivery of our MPower - Community Organising Programme training and empowering migrant communities to best achieve their campaign aims by engaging in UK democracy and politics.

• Support the electoral prospects of MDP leaders and the organising scope in their communities.

• Manage a stakeholder network including local and national migrants’ rights groups and keeping a contact database.

• Lead on the co-production and dissemination of physical and digital materials on democratic rights and participation, such as production of leaflets and infographics in different languages and with different purposes. 

• Collect and produce content for social media following activities delivered with the community. 

• Keep track of engagement and contribute reports for our projects’ evaluation.

Qualifications

We are looking for a proactive and confident organiser with the following essential skills:​

• Good people skills and ability to manage the needs, priorities and differences of a diverse range of communities.

• Excellent knowledge of the UK political system, in particular of voter eligibility and the roles and responsibilities of elected representatives.

• Natural problem-solver who is able to work both independently and collaboratively in a startup environment.

• Excellent and motivating verbal and written communication skills. You will be expected to speak in public, engage migrants on voting rights, communicate political and electoral topics engagingly and succinctly. 

• Knowledge of the UK immigration system and experience working with migrant communities, including campaign or support groups.

• Experience organising in the political space, such as conducting voter registration drives, supporting political candidates, turning people out to vote, informing politicians at election times.

• Excellent administrative and planning skills, including dealing with last-minute changes to events.

• Experience producing and posting content using a range of social media platforms, including X, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.

• Experience delivering or facilitating training and/or informative sessions.

• Good data skills, including for evaluation and monitoring purposes.

Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment. Key responsibilities

• Assist the Stewardship and Journeys Manager in developing, implementing, and managing strategic, audience-centric journeys and experience, across Fundraising and other departments, ensuring best practice.
• Support and recommend improvements for stewardship activities, maintaining quality and consistency, always looking to deepen engagement.
• Help lead innovation with ‘Test & Learn’ plans to enhance impact and results.
• Develop a deep understanding of our audience segments and adopt a data and insight driven approach to audience experience, utilising research, models, and surveys to improve audience experience.

An opportunity has arisen for a lead Support worker to work within our Sanctuary crisis intervention and prevention service, based in Fore Street in Enfield. We act as a short-term A&E and Emergency services alternative, providing support to individuals in the Enfield Borough aged 18+. 

This role is to provide leadership and support to the Sanctuary team on shift. The role will:

• Lead shifts during the week, providing support to team members via case management support, escalation, Health and Safety guidance
• Support the Sanctuary Manager to embed processes within the service, and ensure that these are carried out
• Work alongside the Manager and team to ensure that the service is operating to high quality standard.
• Provide support in times of emotional distress for clients. The support worker will provide a calm, supportive presence.

 The role will support clients through co-producing support plans with practical and therapeutic support offerings, as well as contributing to the development of a warm welcoming environment and ‘safe space’ to be.

This position would suit someone with a minimum of 2 years experience of working with people with mild, moderate and severe mental health issues. Ideally experience of supporting people experiencing suicidal ideation. Should have previous experience of supervising or managing staff.

The Sanctuary Service runs Monday - Friday, 5pm-10pm and at weekdays, 12-5pm. We would require the successful applicant to be able to work 4 shifts (21 hours per week) covering these days/times.

This role will be based at our Enfield office is based at 275 Fore Street Enfield N9 0PD.

Are you a Finance Manager looking to support the development of the accounting team. Based in London, you will collaborate with the US and Netherlands offices to manage financial operations for the Dutch affiliate.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

• Prepare and analyse financial statements in accordance with Dutch accounting standards.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial control processes.

Head of Finance

Are you a hands-on experienced Head of Finance who has strong experience as a Finance Business Partner as well?

An exciting opportunity has come up with a leading £18million turnover international charity which works in partnership with a global INGO to be their Head of Finance. This is a newly created role where you will be reporting to the Finance Director, leading a team of two and be the main Finance Business Partner to the Fundraising team specifically the Individual Giving team and other budget holders.

Salary: £55,500 - £57,000 per annum + 8% employer contribution pension scheme

Contract: 35 hours per week, full time, Permanent

Hybrid: Client based in Old Street, London and you will be office based twice a week

This is an exciting time to join this growing organisation. Candidates applying for this role, must have experience leading on Management Accounts, Business Partnering with the Fundraising Team and Individual Giving Team, strong leadership skills and ability to challenge and be a very hands-on Head of Finance.

Some of your key duties and responsibilities are;

• Managing the Finance team of three members of staff (2 direct reports)
• Develop and maintain business and financial planning processes which includes annual budget process, forecasts, cashflow and being a strong Finance Business Partner to the Fundraising Team
• Preparation of Statutory accounts, corporation Tax, VAT Partial exemption and Gift Aid
• Be the main point of contract for external auditors
• Support the Fundraising Teams in completing funding applications and ensuring appropriate processes are in place
• Dealing with Restricted and Unrestricted Funding projects
• Support the Director of Finance and the Senior Management Team in other work as maybe required from time to time
