A London-based Museum is seeking a Head of Finance to oversee the running of the finance directorate. This is a key role in the Museum, leading the finances from all aspects including budgeting and financial planning, oversight of day to day financial operations, and year end processes. The role is available owing to an internal secondment and therefore is offered on an 18 - 24 month duration. A London-based Museum is currently seeking a Financial Controller to join them on a permanent basis ahead of an exciting period of transformation and improvement.
Managing a team of 5 and reporting into the Head of Finance, this is a key role within the finance team and wider organisation, having overall responsibility for the financial accounting and transactions team for the organisation. As well as leading key aspects of the financial operations, you will also support in the implementation of new financial systems and streamlining and improvement processes to facilitate improved financial and management information.
Your responsibilities will include the following:

Hounslow Young People is a Supported Accommodation Service for young people and young parents aged 16-25. The Service encompasses a mix of units across six sites supporting 57 vulnerable young people and 19 teen parents.
The aim of the service is to empower Young People to move towards independent living, supporting their successful transition from childhood; laying the foundations for healthy, ambitious, and safe adult lives with minimal ongoing support. We are recruiting a Waking Night Support Worker to join our dynamic service and team. In the role of Waking Night Support Worker individuals will ensure continued support is provided to young people at the standards of day staff with particular focus on safety of vulnerable young people.
About the Role:
The Waking Night Support Worker will work in line with person-centred risk assessments, support plans, and liaise with Support Workers to provide comprehensive handover and partnership working. They will be observant of changes in behaviour and presentations ensuring appropriate actions are taken to document and report changes in support needs of young people.
Waking Night Support Worker will be able to carry out all necessary health and safety actions including light cleaning tasks and environment management. Furthermore they will actively seek out ways to work with the team and stakeholders to improve the experience of young people in the service.
The role requires individuals to work on a rota pattern of 21:30 - 07:30, including some weekend working.

About the role
The Senior Finance Business Partner will play a critical role in supporting ODI's strategic decision-making and financial management processes. The post holder will lead on partnering with programme managers to provide insights, analysis, and advice on financial performance and strategic opportunities.
The Senior Finance Business Partner will work closely with a Finance Business Partner in supporting half of ODI’s programmes. The other half of programmes will be supported by another Senior Finance Business Partner and Finance Business Partner pairing.

Main duties and responsibilities
- Develop the advocacy team’s expertise in all of the ways our evidence can be used to effect change, including policy work both with the Home Office and NHS England who commission healthcare in immigration detention, parliamentary work, media work, and to contribute to strategic litigation, and how and when they interrelate.
- Understand and keep updated on what is happening with immigration detention policy, including matters that influence it, such as the literature on health issues of detainees, key legal judgements, inquests, reports by official monitors and parliamentary committees, responses to parliamentary questions, parliamentary debates, research produced by other organisations, and information that you glean from FOI requests.
- Keep abreast of the wider political context that may influence immigration and detention policy.
- Represent Medical Justice at external meetings and events.
- Participate in Home Office, NHS England and monitoring bodies’ stakeholder forums.

- Develop the monitoring and evaluation framework for our advocacy work. - Facilitate the meaningful involvement of people with lived experience of detention Medical Justice advocacy work, including in its design and development.
- Line-manage the Parliamentary & Research Analyst and the Researcher, including providing support in terms of personal development/training and well-being. There will also be line-managing responsibilities for some periods of an individual on the Casework Trainee programme for people with lived experience, once it is introduced.
Research / line-management of the Researcher
- Consulting colleagues, other NGOs and lawyers to identify research projects that draw on medical evidence from our casework that would have the most impact, including carrying out research for strategic litigation and supporting such litigation.
- Collaborate with other organisations as appropriate.
- Lead the team in conducting research and provide periodic feedback of policy implications regarding the emerging findings to others within the organisation for consideration.
- Lead the team in the producing analysis of research and audits of our MLRs, writing up into required formats, including research reports, text for inclusion in policy work, submissions, witness statements, briefing papers for parliamentarians, and media articles.

Policy work
- Carry out policy work with the Home Office, NHS England and their contractors – this may include responding to consultations, and challenging issues proactively.
- Build relationships with the Home Office, NHS England, and monitoring bodies – make sure Medical Justice is included in all relevant consultations and alert others if they have been missed out.
- Collaborate as much as is sensible with other organisations to get the best outcomes for people in detention.
Parliamentary work / line-management of the Parliamentary & Research Analyst
- Oversee our work as the secretariat for the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Immigration Detention, raising awareness of immigration detention amongst parliamentarians and priming them to take action. Work to ensure the APPG brings together parliamentarians with experts, NGOs, lawyers and people with lived experience to amplify our collective impact.
- Oversee the briefing of parliamentarians for challenging unjust policies, asking parliamentary questions, holding parliamentary debates, opposing parliamentary approval of harmful policy amendments, and assisting parliamentarians in tabling amendments to relevant Bills.
- Oversee submissions parliamentary committees to inquires they hold as well as the briefing of committee members and clerks.
Galvanise Medical professional organisations
1. Work with Royal Colleges, the British Medical Association and others to galvanise their communities, encouraging helpful evidence from them, and organising events with them.

1. Work both with the Director and on your own to create mainstream and social media opportunities to promote the work of Medical Justice and the needed content.

Main duties and responsibilities
1. Gather available information about a detained person whose case has been referred to Medical Justice
2. Assess the detained person’s needs and the relevant Medical Justice resources available that could assist them
3. Raise any immediate concerns about your client appropriately within Medical Justice and beyond
4. Prioritise referrals (in collaboration with the Casework Manager and the rest of the casework team)
5. Agree a plan of action with the Casework Manager to ensure as many resources as appropriate are marshalled to assist the detained person regarding:
a. Collating of existing medical evidence regarding the detained person and generating new medical evidence, including medico-legal reports (MLRs) and professional letters produced as a result of Medical Justice clinicians’ assessments in detention and/or remotely at your request
b. Challenging any inadequate healthcare provision
c. Facilitating access to good legal representation to challenge detention and to make the best use of the medical evidence we provide, and establish any availability of Legal Aid Agency funding for MLRs and interpreters
d. Facilitating access to appropriate support including accommodation and access to healthcare on release from detention
6. Obtain relevant consent from detained clients
7. Gather further required information needed about a detained client, including medical records, files held by the Home Office, and the detained client’s legal documents
8. Carry out various other actions agreed by the Casework Manager to implement the above plan. This may include:
a. Arranging medical visits to detainees
b. Liaising with healthcare providers in the immigration removal centre (IRC)
c. Liaising with detained clients
d. Finding appropriate legal representation for a client
e. Signposting or making referrals to other organisations
9. Provide information to the Office Manager for booking medical visits and interpreters
10. Continually update the case-management system
11. With support from the Casework Manager and Clinical Advisor/clinical reviewers, ensure medical evidence generated is accurate and aligned with instructions from any legal representative and Medical Justice guidance
12. Continually feedback to the staff team any intelligence regarding immigration detention conditions
13. Assist the Casework Manager to provide a monthly report for Trustees on the number of referrals, outcomes and Medical Justice clinicians engaged, noting any areas of concern
14. Collaborate with other staff and partner organisations in activities to secure lasting change including litigation, research, policy work and media work. This could include identification of cases, assisting in getting consent from detained clients, and contributing to briefings and witness statements
15. Where required, attend other meetings and events as agreed with the Casework Manager, including Trustee meetings and events with partner organisations.
16. Assist in other Medical Justice activities, including clinician and interpreter training .

About the Service
The Major Trauma Centre project support young people aged 11-25 who present at St Marys Hospital, Kings College Hospital, Royal London, and St Georges Hospitals who have experienced, or are at risk of, domestic abuse, sexual violence, sexual exploitation, honour-based violence, and any other form of violence against women and girls. We work with young people of all genders and sexuality.
This role provides intensive, crisis intervention support to young people impacted by domestic and or sexual violence who presents at emergency hospital departments.
The MTC project is run in close partnership with Redthread youth violence hospital-based charity, and together we deliver excellent holistic support for survivors, as well as training and advice for hospital staff.
About the Role
MTC Youth Crisis IDVA provide person centred, strength based, trauma informed high quality case work support and advice to survivors of abuse through needs and risk assessment while developing safety plans and working in close partnership with statutory and local agencies to minimise the risk of abuse. You will promote the service in the hospitals through building positive relationships with hospital staff, in particular safeguarding teams and clinicians, to ensure a steady flow of appropriate referrals while regularly deliver training to hospital staff to raise awareness of domestic abuse. You will appropriately respond to safeguarding concerns and represent cases at MARAC when needed.
Please note that : This position will require working pattern of two early shifts (7:30am to 3:30pm), two late shifts, (1pm to 9pm) twice a month. There will be one Friday late shift and one Saturday every 6 weeks.

The role of Director of Engagement will develop and execute the fundraising strategy, growing the charity’s philanthropic (trusts and foundations, corporates and major donors) and public fundraising activities, and develop effective partnerships.
