Responsibilities of our Principal Surveyor:

- line manage a team of three Regional Surveyors, providing comprehensive guidance in estate and retail matters

- responsible for a portfolio of properties, including Cats Protection centres, retail premises, residential and miscellaneous legacy properties

- monitor and report on estate condition status and maintain compliance across an assigned geographical portfolio, supporting the Head of Estates and Construction in the delivery of estate management services across the organisation

- create and maintain performance and process documentation and reporting systems across the Cats Protection Estate, including reporting on SLA’s and KPI’s, ensuring consistent information across all regions

- respond to requests from the property helpdesk, including reactive and planned maintenance

- liaise with property sector agents and professionals as needed

About the Estates and Construction team:

- We ensure that Cats Protection is able to sustain its cat welfare operations and retail activities by providing Estate Management and Construction services delivering acquisition, repair, maintenance, re-development and disposal services for an estate portfolio of circa 196 properties including 34 Cat Centres, 79 Shops and other Cats Protection premises across the UK. Together with the Safety, Health and Environment Team and Facilities we ensure regulatory/legal compliance of properties.

- The Estates and Construction Team consists of approximately 17 personnel, including three Regional Surveyors

What we’re looking for in our Principal Surveyor:

- an experienced Surveyor (level 6 or higher) with significant post-qualification experience surveying in a property management or facilities management environment

- member of professional institution such as RICS, RIBA, CIBSE, CIOB

- experience managing a team of employees

- performance orientated, with an organized and methodical approach

- knowledge of retail acquisitions, disposals and leases

- multi-site property management experience

- experience managing minor project work including small building projects (up to £500k)

- understanding of estates compliance

- Competent with all Microsoft Office programmes

- a full, valid, UK driving licence

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Trainer to join our Bet You Can Help Now team. You will deliver engaging, interactive workshops across a range of organisations, both in person and online. Working alongside our Experts by Experience (EbEs), you’ll ensure our sessions are insightful, impactful, and supportive.

This role is home-based, but you’ll need to be prepared for regular travel across the UK, including occasional overnight stays, to deliver our workshops effectively.

Income from donations from wills makes up approximately a third of our charity’s annual income. This new role will provide our charity with a dedicated member of staff to grow and develop income from this stream; strengthening relationships with pledgers, future pledgers and solicitors and other will writing service providers. ANTRUK is a small UK patient organisation for people impacted by antibiotic and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Our legitimacy to advocate for change, with policy makers and NHS organisations, comes from our research projects, our engagement with patients and their families, and from our direct support of patients through our information service and peer-support activities. In addition to our direct services, we have a fundraising team and a small central services function. 

We have an immediate need for a Coordinator for our Priority Setting Partnership (PSP) Project, working remotely, for 1.5 days a week, to oversee the administration of the project. 

This is an exciting time to join the project, as we are ready to send out a survey. We need a PSP coordinator to send out the survey to individuals and organisations and support organisations to promote it. This will need someone to work autonomously adapting emails text to the specific audience, and following up on responses to make sure the survey reaches the right person. The PSP Coordinator will organise the face-to-face priority-setting workshop in November/December 2025. There will be an opportunity to help prepare content for newsletters and social media if this is a skill the postholder has or would like to develop.

About the role

You will be based in the North East and as a key part of our schools team, help to lead, support and advise the regional team of school Pathways Coordinators, embedding the MCR programme in schools in the region.  You’ll need to be highly motivated to ensure that all care-experienced young people and those experiencing disadvantage are supported to find, grow and use their individual talents and that their education, employment choices and life changes outcomes are maximised.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide support, development, training, management and motivation to MCR staff in schools

• Support school integration of the programme and a consistently high quality standard of programme delivery

• Develop and support partnerships with the Local Councils, further and higher education institutions, local business and all MCR stakeholders

• Provide analysis of programme performance, impact and development

About you

• Experience of developing and effectively managing teams and programmes

• Self-motivated and skilled at motivating others

• Experience of or strong interest in working or volunteering in the third sector

• Experience of working within or in collaboration with secondary schools

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• Attention to detail and ability to prioritise

MCR Pathways is an award-winning charity established in Glasgow in 2007.  Our mentoring programme is now delivered in schools across the whole of Scotland as well as South East England.  We are delighted that we are now launching the MCR programme in the North East of England and we are committed to helping the region’s most vulnerable young people gain self-confidence, identify their skills and recognise and fulfil their potential. Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week​

Location:​Home-based with frequent travel to projects across Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Hartlepool​

Contract:Permanent​

Do you want to work with multiple award-winning charity, FoodCycle? As Regional Manager you will represent, manage and co-ordinate FoodCycle for your allocated regional Projects. Our Projects are spaces where volunteers are empowered to run their own community meals using surplus food.​

You will manage local relationships with supermarkets, volunteer recruitment channels and venues to enable this to happen. As an excellent communicator, you will manage the volunteers at each Project ensuring they are trained, supported and on-message with FoodCycle strategy, ensuring that volunteers are confident enough to self-organise and make a success of their Projects.​

You will have experience of programme planning and delivery, and working with volunteers. You will be experienced in building relationships with a range of stakeholders, and be passionate about food and cooking.​

There will be frequent travel to our projects in the North East, with some evening and weekend work needed to cover our projects. A full driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential for this rewarding role.​
