Role Purpose
The role holder will be part of the Operations & Transformation Directorate reporting to the Head of PMO / Change and Delivery Lead.
The incumbent will have a pivotal role in the management of change, implementation and continuous improvement projects, mostly in the digital and IDS sphere. The role holder will help to ensure the work is aligned with the strategic objectives of the organisation, promoting the team’s relevance and value. Working on a broad spectrum of digitally focussed projects, this role will partner with the senior management team and other internal stakeholders.
Key Activities
- Project Management of Mobilisation and Implementation projects covering systems, continuous improvement, and strategic projects
- Creating project plans & mapping dependencies from bottom-up in collaboration with key stakeholders
- Define and track project milestones and ensure dependencies are understood and accepted by the relevant owners
- Report on the status of projects and ensure the appropriate governance and compliance is applied

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
- Significant and demonstrable project management experience (3-5 years) in a multi-project environment, from inception to implementation and closure
- Extensive experience delivering complex projects with strategic change component
- Experience managing projects through multi-disciplinary teams
- Project/Programme qualification e.g. APM, PRINCE2, MSP; experience working with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills (verbal, written and listening)
- Strong attention to detail
- Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and proactively
- Resilient and able to handle ambiguity
- Personal, relatable character, able to build relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders

The creative services lead is an instrumental role in our Brand and Marketing team, working with colleagues across the organisation to deliver best in class, inclusive creative work, championing efficiency and collaboration. They will ensure the timely delivery of strategic brand and marketing projects, which will have the biggest impact in supporting the charity to achieve our vision of a world where all pets are well cared for in loving homes for life. Cancer52 is a national organisation, created in 2007 by Professor Sir Mike Richards, CBE, then National Clinical Director for Cancer, and registered as a charity in England and Wales in September 2017.
We are an exceptional organisation, providing one voice for all those affected by rare and less common cancers. Historically, these cancers have been underrepresented and under-funded. Today, they represent 47% of people diagnosed with cancer, but 55% of all cancer deaths – a hidden majority. Cancer52’s aim is to change this by taking the collective voice of our members to those who influence cancer policy, research, services and treatment.
Cancer52 is recognised for its strong convening role, bringing together our 115 member charities with organisations in industry, government, the NHS and other stakeholders to address the inequalities faced by patients with rare and less common cancers. Our reputation is strong and we are in a unique position to provide a common voice for these underrepresented cancers. The figures for people with these cancers are challenging and there is much work to do.
After a hugely successful tenure during which Cancer52’s size and influence has grown dramatically, our current CEO is retiring from full time work in July. The Board of Trustees is now seeking to appoint a successor to build on the successes and achievements of recent years.

This is a critical senior role in the organisation, reporting to the CEO. The role is responsible for managing the organisation’s programmes across 3 locations in Sub Saharan Africa and South East Asia, managing 10 personnel. The position provides leadership on community-led investigations and evidence gathering and works closely with the Senior Management Team (SMT) on critical areas including fundraising and strategic development.
The priority for this role is the safe and high quality performance of projects. The balance between ‘doing’ and ‘managing’ in this role varies depending on available resources for each project, and the ability to create competent teams to delegate to.

Support Coordinator
We’re looking for an innovative, passionate, and professional individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to join our Stroke Recovery Services based in the Dorset East area.
There will be opportunities to hot desk within Bournemouth and Christchurch, as well as Poole NHS sites. This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to provide Key Worker support following a stroke.

The Role

The purpose of the Programme Officer role is to support the successful delivery of the In2research Programme.
Your specific duties will include:
Programme Delivery
-
Manage participants and volunteers from application stage to successful completion of the programme, including recruitment, matching, onboarding, troubleshooting throughout the programme and evaluation.

Maintain excellent working relationships with funders and delivery partners and other external stakeholders to further the delivery of our work. This will include working and communicating with academic and professional services staff at universities, consultants, placement supervisors, mentors and workshop leads

Create and develop engaging communication materials about the programme including programme guides, presentations, posters/flyers, case studies and website text and images.

Work with delivery partners to design and deliver programme’s online and in-person activities, including recruiting and training speakers for: workshops; careers panels; mentoring sessions; placements and large scale away days and celebration events

Track project performance, manage risk assessments and ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard

Ensure the highest standard of record keeping, maintaining accurate, complete, and up to date records in accordance with data protection policy

Support the collection and creation of case studies, working closely with the fundraising team to ensure funder requirements are met.

Evaluate programme processes/systems to recommend and implement improvements to support the delivery of a high quality programme experience for participants and volunteers.
As duties and responsibilities change, the job description will be reviewed and amended in consultation with the post holder. The postholder will carry out any other duties that are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the line manager.
Person specification:
Essential:

Excellent organisational skills, able to multitask and manage a varied workload while paying attention to the tiny details
-
Experience delivering programmes and/or projects within the education, career development and/or employability sector
-
An understanding of the social and economic barriers that prevent some people from progressing into postgraduate research and an ability to recognise the importance of diversity and inclusion in postgraduate research
-
Experience working with one or more of the following groups: young people, people from low-socioeconomic backgrounds, volunteers, universities or STEM professionals/employers.
-
Experience developing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at various levels.
-
Experience designing and delivering large-scale events, both online and in-person, such as training sessions, away days and workshops
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation skills and an ability to adapt to a range of audiences.

Flexible and adaptable, with an ability to pick up new tasks quickly, showing resilience when faced with challenges.

Knowledge, understanding or experience of programme or project evaluation.
Desirable:

Experience of working with universities and academic institutions, knowledge and understanding of the postgraduate application process

Experience of student or volunteer recruitment

Knowledge or an understanding of safeguarding practices.

Excellent IT skills including experience of Gmail, Google Workspace (or Word, Excel and Powerpoint)

Experience working with databases.
