About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our small but high performing philanthropy and special events team. This role works alongside our senior trusts and statutory manager and head of trusts and statutory to secure funding from charitable trusts and foundations. It’s responsible for managing and growing support from small to mid-level value trusts through compelling proposals and exceptional stewardship.

About you

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to grow and develop their experience in trust fundraising and make a significant difference for people affected by breast cancer. You’ll be a strong written and verbal communicator who’s passionate about building relationships with charitable trusts and foundations. With a proactive approach and excellent attention to detail, you’ll be able to work well independently and as part of a busy fundraising team. You’ll have experience of managing competing priorities, with the ability to stay calm and positive under pressure.

Head of Commercial Bid Writing

Key Purpose of the role

As a Head of Commercial Bid Writing, you will lead the bid writing team to write multi-million-pound winning bids for agreed contracts, tenders and frameworks in line with the agreed operating model, enabling United Response to retain and grow income in a sustainable way.

Working closely with the Associate Director of Business Development, Senior Relationship Managers, operational subject matter experts you will ensure that all tenders, are written to an excellent standard and meet necessary criteria within internal and procurement timeframes. You will articulate and illustrate information provided to you as well as work up concepts into creative and innovative ideas, in line with The United Response strategy and brand that will lead to significant income growth. This will include research, example gathering, development of new initiatives and engaging internal and external stakeholders, to include in model development and submissions which will lead to significant increases in income. You will lead on the development of comprehensive blue prints for each of our contracts, which will include:

• Rigorous and comprehensive cost benefit analysis for all of our services and bids.
• Comprehensive budgets for bids to ensure that the ROI is met and that the contract is sustainable in the long terms.
• A full risk assessment for the contract to inform decision making for a bid no bid scenario.

Who you are

To be successful, you will have experience of writing bids and frameworks in the social care sector alongside the ability to lead on the development of comprehensive blue prints for contracts. You will have experience of leading and developing rigorous and comprehensive cost benefit analysis for multi million pound contracts and tenders and comprehensive budgets for bids to ensure that the ROI is met.

You will have leadership and motivational experience with a multicultural staff team with the ability to create a high performance environment, while setting and monitoring measures that reflect the corporate objectives and customer goals.

We’re looking for a Fundraising Administrator to support the Fundraising and Comms team at PTES. Refugee Action Kingston (RAK) is an independent charity dedicated to helping the successful integration of refugees and people seeking asylum into the local community. With over three decades of experience, we provide a holistic service which includes advice on welfare, benefits, and immigration, alongside education, counselling, and career guidance.

In 2023/24 we supported 2,036 people:

• 1,171 clients accessed advice and advocacy services, including immigration advice
• 305 accessed ESOL classes
• 250 children supported through after school and family support services
• 61 people supported through our counselling service

This is an exciting time to join RAK at the start of the new fundraising strategy for 2024-2028. RAK currently has a successful grant fundraising programme through a selection of statutory bodies, trusts and foundations, and recognises the need - and opportunity - to broaden and diversify its income generation streams. We are looking for a fundraiser to build on existing strengths within the organisation to broaden our income stream through corporate support, individual giving, major donors and social media fundraising campaigns alongside maintaining and developing our trusts and foundations funding.

Purpose of the role

As Fundraising Manager, you will lead the fundraising functions of the charity to generate income, meet organisational targets, and ensure development opportunities are effectively maximised. Working with the Director and programme teams, you will develop and write competitive bids, growing capacity and securing income for 24/25 and beyond. We are focused on multi-year bids and opportunities that deliver the best outcomes for our client community. As a client-led organisation, we strive to meet the needs of our clients and deliver impact-focused programmes.

The Fundraising Manager will have proven experience of successful grant writing and demonstrate a track record of fundraising achievements across multiple income streams.

Main areas of accountability

Fundraising - general

• Writing and submitting bids, tenders and proposals to ensure income targets are met in line with performance objectives
• Responsibility for the development and the implementation of RAK’s fundraising strategy, in line with organisational strategy and resources
• Providing stewardship to existing donors and supporters to maximise income and ensure long-term funding relationships
• Contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of the impact of the services provided at RAK

Trusts and Foundations, Statutory Funding

• Securing regular income by producing and submitting appealing fundraising applications to trusts and foundations as well as statutory funding
• Researching, monitoring, and identifying new funding opportunities for the development of existing or new services and organisational capacity
• Reporting to funders in line with funding criteria, objectives and the specified outcomes conditional to the funding

Individual Giving

• Ensuring that donations are acknowledged in an appropriate and timely manner in line with the stewardship policy
• Managing the charity’s supporter database and online donations
• Developing an excellent supporters’ journey via digital means and channels
• Preparing appealing fundraising campaigns and cases for support to the general public
• Working with the Partnership and Digital Marketing Co-ordinator to maximise income from social media channels and other digital channels
• Keeping up to date with professional best practice and recent trends, identifying developments that impact the organisation, and sharing knowledge appropriately across teams and departments

Corporate Giving

• Leading the expansion of RAK’s corporate giving initiatives, identifying and developing opportunities for engagement, and achieving the corporate income target
• Managing the Partnership and Digital Marketing Coordinator, whose primary focus is on corporate giving

General Duties

• Undertaking any other related duties as required and appropriate to the role.

We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Essential

• Significant fundraising successes, preferably across different income streams

The Assessment, Advocacy & Advice Lead will provide frontline services to people diagnosed with HIV in Lewisham, Southwark and Lambeth as part of the Bridges partnership and South West London and Wandsworth HIV Support project. These services include assessment, emotional support and advice and advocacy for issues such as housing, welfare benefits, debt, dealing with HIV stigma or HIV treatment adherence. The Lead will facilitate signposting and referral into other support services including counselling, peer support and immigration services.

Programme

As part of Bridges programme, South West London HIV Partnership and Wandsworth HIV Support project, these services support new and previously diagnosed service users as well as family members/or carers who live in the same household. The programme will support people living with HIV and improve their health and well-being through the provision of services, delivered both face-to-face and virtually where appropriate.

• Enable, encourage and enthuse children and young people to get involved in every aspect of Church life
• Represent and host 3Generate, the Children and Youth Assembly of the Methodist Church
• Listen to the voices of children and young people from across the Methodist Church in Britain and to be advocate for them in the life of the Church at every level – this may involve a lot of independent travel, and evening and weekend travel
• Influence the decision-making of the Church by sharing the opinions and priorities of children and young people

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to travel and work around Britain and overseas, supporting children and young people from all backgrounds. The work is challenging and varied and you will have experience of public speaking, debating, team and independent working, report writing, listening and facilitation, worship leading and more.

The Young Women’s Keyworker will work with young women aged 15-24 to provide specialist 1:1 support to those referred into the service. The service is designed to be a “whole system” response to women and girls in the Criminal Justice System, so a key part of the role will include building relationships with statutory and VCS agencies, to support and encourage more young women to access the Minerva service, as well as setting up specialist referral pathways for young women in the community. 

About You:

 To be successful as the Young Women’s Keyworker you will:

Bring an in-depth knowledge of issues facing women offenders and those at risk of offending; both in and out of the Criminal Justice System. Have a strong understanding of the context and challenges facing vulnerable young women and girls, including the impacts of domestic violence, mental health, and sexual health.

Bring a significant experience of working with young women experiencing issues related to offending and experience of community engagement, advocacy and support work with young people and have proven practical experience of using motivational interviewing and coaching techniques with young women and girls, using a woman-centred approach to build trust and rapport.  You will demonstrate the ability to work in partnership with relevant statutory and voluntary groups, developing and maintaining strong constructive working relationships.

Our service was co-developed back in 2015 by VoiceAbility and people who use the services.  This is now part of Reach Out Camden which is passionate about working together with Camden residents to design and deliver services that improve their mental health and for people to live healthy and fulfilling lives in a place where they feel connected to their community and have the right opportunities to thrive.

Your role will require you to provide one-to-one support for service users as they are discharged from the Crisis team, setting personal goals with the service user for recovery, developing ways with the service user on how to keep well and identifying their own personal sources of support. This will involve work and travel within the Borough of Camden but will be based in one of the Camden Crisis Resolution Team offices.  The post is a permanent contract with a starting salary between £24,500 - £31,500 per annum pro rata.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Peer Support Worker to join our team in the Camden Crisis Teams. We are looking for both full and part time staff, (working hours to be agreed, however, our service runs Monday to Friday, between the hours of 9am-5pm), on a permanent contract. Reporting directly to the Connections Team Leader.

Your role will require you to provide one-to-one support for service users, setting personal goals with the service user for recovery, developing ways with the service user on how to keep well and identifying their own personal sources of support. This will involve work and travel within the Borough of Camden but will be based at in one of the Crisis Team offices either at Daleham Gardens or St Pancras Hospital. The post is a permanent contract with a starting salary between £24,500 - £31,500 pro rata depending on experience.

How will you make a difference?

You will work with the Peer Support Team and draw upon lived experience to assist service users to move forward positively.  Acting as a specialist resource to provide a unique perspective to service users. 

You will hold a small caseload to allow regular sessions to be held with the service user, maintaining confidential records, utilising VoiceAbility and NHS electronic records system.  Planning, implementation of and review of care packages, including parts of the individual care plan.

· Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience of working within a multi-disciplinary group

· Are Professional, enthusiastic and engaging, a good listener, empathetic and have a positive “can do” attitude

· Hold an Enhanced DBS with Children & Adults Barred lists (or willingness to obtain)

Building relationships with other statutory and non-statutory agencies in local communities is vital to build referral pathways and provide a whole system approach to supporting individuals.

To carry out this work you will meet women in the community in your designated borough and co-locate with other agencies including the National Probation Service, as well as regularly attending Advance’s North London vibrant Women’s Centre/office space.

You will be a creative self-starter who will support the service and look for innovative solutions to support clients with complex needs. You are confident professional relationship builder and has good awareness of Safeguarding procedures. Strong Administration skills and understanding of compliant behaviours also experience of supporting. With good knowledge of the criminal justice system and awareness of other support provisions within the North London area.
