About the role

As Team Leader you will be responsible for all aspects of the Amnesty Bookshop on Kentish Town Road, London, ensuring that it is consistently inviting to customers, well-stocked, well-staffed and safe. This includes recruiting, guiding, and inspiring a 20+ strong volunteer team, maximising the value from donations, creating enticing displays and dealing with problems as they arise. Accountable for the shop performance, you will use your initiative, and work closely with the Regional Manager, to seek ways to grow sales and profit, reach a wider audience, and make the shop even more successful.

• Strong Project Management skills for research studies and interventions (including resource identification, workflow management, and budgeting)

• Experience managing research projects or programmes within timeframes and budgets
• Excellent communication, spoken and written skills

In the Community Manager role, you will focus on building offerings and opportunities that support our UK Fellows to accelerate and sustain their impact. Your day-to-day work will range from listening and talking with Fellows to delivery of events and initiatives. The role is full of autonomy and creativity, and we are looking for a self-starter who has experience building communities and delivering impactful communications. 

You will report to the UK Programme Director and work closely with the UK Programme Manager and Acumen Academy's global community & marketing teams.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Build & manage relationships with UK Fellows to understand their needs and inform our support strategy

• Design & deliver engagement and communications initiatives e.g. Fellows newsletters, regular and tailored touch-points

• Understand & facilitate value-add connections and opportunities e.g. connections to mentors, experts, funders 

• Design & deliver community initiatives that extend connection, knowledge and skills e.g. running in-person events, online workshops

• Design & deliver engaging communication campaigns that amplify and elevate the impact of Fellows e.g. writing case studies, blog posts, social media, public newsletters

• Track & evaluate the engagement and effectiveness of support initiatives e.g. feedback loops, data collection, impact reporting

• Build & manage partnerships with external partners e.g. event partners, media outlets

• Work in partnership with Acumen Academy’s global community and marketing teams to extend global opportunities, share learning and create consistent messaging

Qualifications and skills:

• You have a strong track record of delivering community initiatives that engage and bring value to an audience e.g. in-person events, online workshops, mentorship programmes

• You are a strong written communicator who takes pride in creating content that tells an impactful story - and can point to a portfolio of newsletters, blog posts, and case studies

• You are always using data to learn and refine, and people often tell you that you have a strong eye for detail

• You are a highly organised self-starter who turns ideas into action with an ability to manage competing priorities across a range of different tasks

• You have a strong track record of building relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders - such as charity and social enterprise CEOs, global colleagues, corporate partners

• You are committed to changing the way the UK tackles poverty, and aspire to live by our values: generosity & accountability, humility & audacity, listening & leadership, integrity & respect

Other nice to haves (not required):

• You have experience designing and executing public events online and in-person

• You are confident with Canva or using portions of  the Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator) 

• You are confident using  online communication tools, such as Hubspot, to manage social media

• You are confident using digital tools to create surveys, conduct analysis & synthesise information

• You have an understanding of the UK social sector built from first-hand experience supporting social leaders

Mental Health Homelessness Outreach Team Leader

Working base: Flexible to one of our seven Wellbeing Centres across Hertfordshire, dependent on location.

About the Service

This is a pilot service working as a multi-disciplinary team with housing teams and Drug and Alcohol Services across District and Borough councils. These teams will be working with individuals who are presenting as homeless and have a number of Complex Needs. The Complex Needs Housing Team Leader plays a significant role in the co-ordination and running of the Complex Needs Housing Service.

The objectives of Hertfordshire Mind Complex Needs Housing Service are:

• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental ill health.
• To increase early access to help for people experiencing mental ill health in, by providing a clear and effective pathway to services provided by Herts Mind Network and other third sector and statutory providers.
• To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• To reduce the use of police, ASB, tenancy enforcement, housing needs and environmental health services by clients whose primary need is related to mental ill health.
• To reduce the use of crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health with positive outcomes for the individual.
• To provide an assertive outreach approach for clients who are in crisis and/ or those that may have complex or multiple needs.
• To work collaboratively within an MDT consisting of CGL, District and Borough councils, housing teams and other professionals.

This role is key to the development and support of the team and the wider organisation. 
The post holder will need to:

• Support the Services Manager with effective running of the Complex Needs Housing Service.
• Provide advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients who are experiencing mental ill health or need support with their mental wellbeing. These will be clients who are presenting to District and Borough councils as homeless and need intervention and support with their mental health.
• Line manage staff and where necessary volunteers.
• Lead a team of Mental Health Outreach Workers. Ensuring the team are using databases and outcome tools as required to report for the project.

Key Responsibilities

• To receive and process referrals from the local district and borough Councils for those who have presented as homeless with a mental health need, as well as other appropriate referrals pathways across Hertfordshire and make direct contact within 72 hours of referral.
• To establish effective pathways across a variety of agencies to maximise and provide effective partnership working.
• To manage a caseload of up to 5 clients.
• Embed a holistic, trauma informed and person-centred service
• Proactively recognise the indicators of deteriorating mental health and facilitate appropriate action, whilst liaising with relevant agencies.
• Ensure a direct community service is in place which encourages, motivates and builds patients self-esteem and confidence. This will include goal setting and support with social and practical skills development.
• Ensure all person-centred risk assessments and support plans are completed as appropriate.
• To assist clients to access appropriate mental health services, drug and alcohol services, housing/tenancy services and other services according to assessed needs.
• To work with partners both internal and external to ensure that vulnerable person’s cases are monitored and risks evaluated in order to promote community safety.
• Support clients to build their emotional resilience and crisis planning tools, promoting self-management through building an understanding of their own triggers/coping strategies.
• To work with HMN staff in other services in order to make onward referrals to other projects.
• Liaise with appropriate HPFT staff to ensure that individuals are assessed for personal budgets to support with any longer-term needs.
• Support individuals to develop sustainable local social networks, both through our HMN Wellbeing Centres and other community services and resources.

The successful candidate will play a significant role in the co-ordination and running of the Complex Needs Housing Service.

As the Head of Development & Communications, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and achieving EECF’s income generation strategy. This will involve evaluating current income generation and building upon existing donor relationships and growing new meaningful donor partnerships. With a focus on high value fundraising across, individuals and corporate, this role will work with and manage a small team of three to achieve income generation goals. It will also be part of the Senior Management Team and work closely with other internal relationships to achieve growth.

To be successful as the Head of Development & Communications you will have proven experience within fundraising and particularly across high value income streams. This person will also have had previous line management experience and be keen to manage a small team to achieve success. They will be strong in building meaningful relationships both with internal and external stakeholders.  

This role is a full-time permanent position that will have hybrid working in the London offices 2-3 days per week. The salary for this role is £50,000 to £55,000.

Surviving Economic Abuse is a small but mighty charity that is already making waves in dealing with one of society’s biggest issues: economic abuse, a devastating form of domestic abuse.

The charity is looking for a Media and Communications Manager (maternity cover) to help its work to stop economic abuse forever.

You would be joining the charity at an exciting time. In this role, you would lead on delivering the charity’s press office function and manage the charity’s annual Economic Abuse Awareness Day campaign.

As part of this role, you will also work closely with survivors to land high-profile media coverage to raise awareness about economic abuse and support our work influencing the new government. As well as line-manage the Communications Officer and oversee their work delivering the charity’s social media communications.

• Lead on creating and delivering media stories to support the charity’s aim to raise awareness of economic abuse and influence policy and legislative change.
• Work closely with the Survivor Engagement Specialist to identify and gather survivors’ stories and support them to safely tell their story in the media.
• Line-manage a Communications Officer and oversee their work delivering our social media communications, ensuring strategic, on brand and responsive to risks and opportunities.
• Deliver media training to charity spokespeople and provide both written and verbal briefings ahead of interviews to ensure message consistency.
• Feedback and sign-off on communication materials developed by others to ensure consistent messaging, in line with the charity’s brand guidelines.
• Protect and maintain the charity’s brand and reputation, identifying risks and working with team members to effectively respond.
