IcFEM Dreamland Mission is a Christian charity set up to help fund and support the work of IcFEM in
Kenya. We had been running for almost 20 years with volunteers
running a home-based UK office. Three years ago we employed staff in the UK for the first time. We
currently have income of £350k- £400k a year depending on the projects running. IcFEM Kenya is a
locally run organisation based at Kimilili in Western Kenya. IcFEM Kenya runs community projects as
well as a school and hospital. The past five years has seen our work grow significantly, including the
school and hospital which have developed into large institutions that are valued by the community
in Kimilili and fit well into the local government set up.
We are looking for an individual who is ambitious to see our ministry grow and is experienced at
blending trust in God with human endeavour.
We are seeking an Operations Manager who has experience of the charity sector and is prepared to
be flexible and adaptable to the needs of this small charity. There is the potential for flexibility within
this role and we would be willing to discuss a variation in hours worked. Some occasional evening or
weekend work will be needed, and occasional travel to Kenya is an important part of the role,
particularly to build relationships with the Kenyan team.

Governance and legal compliance
➢ Review and keep updated UK policy and procedure documentation, writing new policies

The Access to Healthcare Organiser will help shape Migrants Organise’s strategy to grow an organised refugee and migrant solidarity movement as part of the Patients Not Passports campaign, alongside our partners at Medact, in order to bring about systemic change to end the hostile and racist immigration enforcement system in the NHS. The Organiser's work will include identifying, recruiting and supporting people charged or denied healthcare and facilitating their participation in the Patients Not Passports campaign, as well as supporting migrant movement builders to organise, lead and deliver organised and effective social justice actions locally, regionally and nationally alongside supporters and allies.

Who we’re looking for
We are seeking a talented and experienced communications strategist and writer, with a background in sustainable development, science or health communications, to join our Communications Services team. You will be educated to degree level – if you have a postgraduate qualification in a subject area relevant to our work, even better. We are looking for someone with a passion for making a difference through communications, with a friendly, outgoing personality. You’ll be interested in engaging strategically with international development and research projects to showcase results and enhance the impact of their work. Your role will include:
- Developing and implementing communications, campaign and event strategies: you will develop and drive forward strategies and implementation plans to help organisations define their communications objectives and translate them into achievable outcomes.
- Writing and advising clients: you will write (and edit) copy for a wide range of materials and subject areas, and provide clients with advice on communications materials and approaches to best meet their needs.

Working at Scriptoria

Our staff have the flexibility to work wholly or partly from home or from our office in Tooting, South-West London, during regular operational hours (08:30–17:30). If working from home, staff must have a working environment suitable for holding video-call meetings with clients. Wherever you work, you will interact regularly with other team members to share skills and exchange ideas.
You will have 25 days of annual leave per year, plus public holidays.
Key skills and experience
- A degree in a subject area relevant to our work. A postgraduate qualification would be an advantage.
- A minimum of five years’ experience, together with a track record in developing communications, campaign and event strategies, and advising clients on their implementation.
- Experience in presenting to groups and facilitating workshops. Enthusiasm to travel would be a big advantage.
- Extensive experience as a writer in the areas of sustainable development, science or health, with a demonstrated flair for writing compelling, engaging text that effectively communicates key messages.
- A proven ability to develop and work to a brief, analyse and synthesise source materials and convey complex and technical information to non-specialist audiences.
- Excellent attention to detail, and the ability to copyedit and proofread documents.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and cope flexibly with a range of jobs to meet (and exceed) client expectations.

The Director of Research is a key position in the organisation that leads our research activities, managing a small team as we invest in a prioritised and focused research portfolio. Working alongside the CEO and senior leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing a research strategy that fits seamlessly with the Foundation’s vision, ensuring we have the expertise and resources required to support our programme and initiatives.
As someone with experience working in a scientific research role, you will have the ability to interpret, analyse and utilise research findings and developments, with a deep understanding of the drug discovery and development landscape. You will be someone who constantly seeks out new research approaches, methodologies and funding models, ensuring that the Foundation remains at the forefront with its innovative practices. Knowledge of the research grants system is essential; we’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running. You will care about the impact of our work, developing an excellent understanding of the MND field and placing those living with MND at the heart of every decision you make, while ensuring all funded projects continue to meet our goals and financial requirements.
Strong communication skills are central to this role. Our partner is a nonprofit organization providing accessible & effective mental health interventions for youths. They are seeking a part-time CFO to add expertise and oversight of their finance function to ensure financial sustainability. This role is a really interesting opportunity for an experienced finance professional to shape the finance function of a young, but growing organisation.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement financial strategies, and lead the development of financial projections and scenario planning to inform decision making.
- Lead the finance function, overseeing the day-to-day operations (cash, accounts payable, accounts receivables and payroll) and ensure compliance with accounting and financial reporting standards, as well as legal and regulatory requirements for Kenya and the USA
- Evaluate and implement financial systems and processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and transparency
- Oversee the preparation of budgets, financial statements, and other financial reports
- Develop and manage the organization's risk management
- Lead, develop, and mentor a team of young professionals
Requirements
- Qualified accountant with at least 5 years of relevant experience, and willing to be hands on.
- Strong technical accounting experience covering financial accounting, management accounting, budget creation and monitoring, financial analysis, and reporting, preferably within a not for profit.
- Experience of working in a start-up or of establishing a finance function is strongly desirable.
- Experience of leading a finance function, including providing financial analysis & insight and strategic advice to aid decision making.
- Experience of grants management, compliance and reporting
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to work with both finance and non-finance staff.
- Strong strategic and problem solving skills.
This is a remote role, although they would be open to someone working from their office.
