But we cannot do this work without funds. Alongside a small, friendly, and dedicated team, you will coordinate and deliver a range of fundraising activities.

About You

What You’ll Do

• Trusts & grants: Work with the Development & Communications Manager to write and submit compelling funding applications to trusts, foundations and grant-making bodies to secure new and repeat funding.

• Scout for, build and maintain relationships with existing and new funders, donors, and partners, ensuring ongoing engagement and support.

• Events: Plan, organise and manage fundraising events, including overseeing event logistics, participant engagement and post-event follow up.

• Work with the Development & Communications team to generate new, innovative fundraising concepts and bring them to fruition.

• Manage the database of funders and donors and ensure contact is up to date.

• Support with monitoring and evaluation, including reports to funders

Spectra CIC delivers peer to peer counselling services across London. The post holder will coordinate Spectra’s LGBTQ+ Youth Counselling Service. This will include the delivery of counselling sessions, client allocations, service development and waiting list management. In addition to liaison with members of the counselling team.

You will have good understanding of the health and well-being needs of young LGBTQ+ people, and an understanding of access barriers in underserved groups within communities.

Job Purpose:

The main purpose of this role is to lead and coordinate communications activities across the Society’s policy and external affairs activities, ensuring that our work is communicated strategically and visible to appropriate audiences.

Key responsibilities:

Understanding opportunities and the changing external environment  

• Develop our understanding of the preferences and needs of our key internal and external audiences to better align our policy and external affairs communications to those preferences and needs. 
• Monitor and respond to emerging trends to ensure our communications channels and content for policy and external affairs remain timely and relevant.
• Build a network of key contacts across critical and adjacent organisations to maximise potential routes into influencing decision-making and make the best use of resources through collaborative working. 

Development of strategies and plans

• Lead on strategic communication of the Society’s campaign priorities

• Work closely with colleagues across the organisation to maximise the communications value of the Society’s key policy and external affairs outputs and activities.

Media relations

• Lead on the Society’s media relations work – proactively identify and exploit appropriate media opportunities to promote campaign priorities, drafting media statements and managing launches and announcements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with journalists across our key topic areas and respond to press queries. 
• Expertly advise, assist and brief the Society’s key spokespeople in respect of media relations issues and opportunities. 
• Manage, and develop the Society’s statistical ambassador scheme, supporting individuals and ensuring we have a pipeline of spokespeople that reflects the diversity of the data professions.

Content creation and editorial

• Develop communications content including blogs, press statements, posts and thought pieces to communicate our campaigns and policy work. 
• Contribute to the operation of the Society’s social media accounts, working with wider staff to ensure we are reflecting the breadth of the Society’s activities across the various platforms.
• Produce write-ups of events and roundtables.

External affairs

• Work with the CEO and Head of Policy and Advocacy to identify and develop relationships with external stakeholders, both UK-based and international and across government, civil society, academia and business, acting as a convenor, trusted advisor and critical friend. 
• Lead on the Society’s statistical excellence awards programme, including developing and maintaining relationships with awards sponsors to ensure the awards are both impactful and financially sustainable.
• Lead on the planning and delivery of policy focused events 
• Support the publication, launch and dissemination of relevant outputs across the policy team, and work with colleagues to ensure relevant and timely and communication of policy positions to support policy and advocacy objectives. 
• Maintain a database of relevant stakeholders.

Management

• Monitor and report on progress and performance against targets. 
• Project manage campaigns, external affairs and communications activities, ensuring that work is appropriate, of high quality, and sufficient volume to maintain presence and reputation. 
• Manage the budget for the communications function.

Interfaces with other teams and groups 

• Contribute to a cross-RSS communications group to share comms plans and outputs and identify opportunities for synergy and collaboration. 
• Provide support to key Society groups, for example the Campaigns Advisory Group. 
• Work with staff responsible for business development to pursue sponsorship opportunities where appropriate. 
• Engage with teams across the organisation to identify comms opportunities to advance our campaign priorities.

Person Specification

• Significant relevant experience in media relations and external affairs

Working for the RSS

Pension and benefits

Our defined contribution pension scheme can be joined after three months in post. Your contributions of up to 8% of salary will be double matched by the Society (making a maximum contribution by the Society of 16%). A training budget, season ticket loan, cycle to work scheme and employee assistance programme are also available. 

Location

The RSS office is in central London. We offer flexible working arrangements, and this is a hybrid role with a minimum two days a week working in the office. In person attendance for certain meeting is required, including all-staff / team meetings and governance / committee meetings that take place in person. Limited travel within the UK and internationally may be required.

Working hours

35 per week full-time. Applications for job shares, part-time and flexible working will also be considered. The post-holder will be the point of contact for any out-of-office hours press queries. 

Holidays

25 days per annum, plus bank holidays and an additional shut down between Christmas and New Year.

Summary

The Human Resources department provides a strategic and operational HR service to the seven National Church Institutions (NCIs) and the 42 Diocesan Bishops' offices. Our HR Operations team focusses on the entire employee lifecycle providing support, advice and guidance to senior leaders, line managers and staff. The Organisational Development team lead on culture, values, wellbeing, development and our belonging & inclusion strategy. Through our External Service team, we also offer HR support on a consultancy basis to other Church of England organisations including our dioceses and cathedrals.

• Reviewing risk assessments that have been completed by staff and line managers, requesting additional information, and advising on risk mitigation;

You'll need previous experience of advising on and reviewing health and safety risks, including Display Screen Equipment, lone working and overseas travel with, or working towards, a recognised Health & Safety certificate (e.g. IOSH/NEBOSH or equivalent).

We're looking for someone who has:

Location: Home-based, Herefordshire and Worcestershire. However, extensive travel will be required as part of this role (travel will include team meetings or other work-related meetings).

Salary: Circa £21,948 per annum (FTE circa £27,435 per annum)

The role

In this role, you will play a key part in raising the funds that power Concern Worldwides vital work to fight poverty, inequality, and humanitarian crises around the world. As a Face-to-Face Fundraiser, you’ll be engaging with people in high streets and events, inspiring them to become long-term supporters of Concerns crucial work to end poverty, social injustice and inequality. You’ll be trained to confidently share Concerns mission and work, helping raise vital funds for people affected by current world affairs.

FACE TO FACE FUNDRAISER

Location: You be working in shopping centres, train stations and other locations throughout London and surrounding areas (ideally, candidates should be based within London or the surrounding area)

Salary: £25,000 - 28,000+ (including paid travel when working out of London)

The Henry Smith Charity is an independent grant making trust that was established in 1628 by Henry Smith.

The role is initially on a 12 month fixed term contract working 21 hours per week over 3 days.

Position: S11267 Stroke Support Coordinator

Location: Home-based South Warwickshire, including Rugby. However, extensive travel will be required as part of this role (will include team meetings and other work-related meetings)

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week

Salary: Circa £27,435 per annum 

Contract: This is a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2026. Services are contracted and there is currently funding for this contract until 31 March 2026.

The Role

Reporting to the Stroke Service Delivery Coach, the coordinators will work with the local Health and Social Care services to receive referrals and support stroke survivors and their carers. As a coordinator you will provide personalised information, advice and support with regular reviews throughout.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Working with the local Health and Social services to receive referrals to support stroke survivors and their careers.

• Providing personalised information, advice and support to address any needs identified.

• Completing Needs Assessments with stroke survivors and supporting them to develop a stroke recovery plan.

• Providing regular reviews to support people in establishing and achieving their own personal goals.

About You

You will:

• Have a background in a caring and/or charity profession supporting people with disabilities.

• Be able to demonstrate previous experience of working collaboratively with other organisations to achieve joint ambitions. 

• Have experience of working with people who may have additional communication support needs.

• Have the ability to use basic Microsoft system.

This role requires extensive travel across a large geographical locality to visit people at home and in community settings.  Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role.
