As Appeals and Events Fundraising Manager, you will lead on the planning, coordination and delivery of the charity’s three major annual appeals. The Cardinal’s Appeal, The Priest Training Fund Appeal and The Sick & Retired Priests Appeal. This is a multifaceted role that will require strong project management skills with strong Marketing and Communications skill set.

The postholder will organise and manage the events associated with these appeals, ensuring effective promotion, engagement, and delivery. You will also support and deliver additional ad hoc fundraising events as required. This is a full-time, permanent role, hybrid, based in Westminster.

Who are we looking for?

Ideal candidates will have previous experience of delivering fundraising activities or alternatively previous experience of events management and marketing. With excellent project management skills, you will be able to deliver on marketing projects ensuring quality of output and under budgets and agreed timescales. You will be comfortable in using data sets and CRM systems as well as developing strong relationships with donors and prospects. Excellent interpersonal awareness and communication skills with the ability to listen and understand the needs of others is essential for this role.

Galop, the UK’s LGBT anti-abuse charity, is seeking an Individual Giving Manager to join our Fundraising & Comms team.
 
Founded in 1982, Galop works directly with thousands of LGBT people who have experienced abuse and violence every year. We specialise in supporting victims and survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence, hate crime, and other forms of abuse including honour-based abuse, forced marriage, and so-called conversion therapies. We are a service run by LGBT people, for LGBT people, and the needs of our community are at the centre of what we do.
 
We run a National Abuse & Violence Helpline, which brings together our four national support helplines for LGBT victims and survivors of: domestic abuse; hate crime; rape and sexual abuse; and so-called “conversion therapy”.
 
We provide longer-term support to thousands of LGBT victims and survivors of abuse through our advocacy and therapeutic services. We are person-centred, empowerment-based, and trauma-informed – meaning our focus is always on helping our clients decide what is best for them, and then supporting them through their journey.
 
We use what we learn through working on the frontlines with clients to work on national and local policy change, to improve outcomes for LGBT victims and survivors of abuse and violence. We push for legislative change, improved statutory guidance for victims, and better understanding of the needs of LGBT people around the country.

Job Purpose

The Ruth Strauss Foundation is looking to grow its fundraising team and this role will play a pivotal part in developing Individual Giving for the organisation. This role will lead the Individual Giving and Legacy programme, responsible for building the database of regular givers, introducing new campaigns and products to acquire new donors and increase retention rates and lifetime donor value.

This role will be responsible for developing a supporter centric marketing strategy generating a supporter journey which drives excellent supporter experience, creating a RSF family of donors. This role will develop products for in memory fundraising and build our legacy programme from scratch, developing a legacy fundraising strategy and subsequent comms plan and journey.

• Produce a 3 year programme strategy for Individual Giving and Legacy fundraising contributing to the ambitious growth strategy for RSF
• Project management of a year long Individual Giving communications plan and associated campaigns/products.
• Produce a marketing strategy for our individual givers which focusing on increasing the number of new donors acquired as well increasing retention, average value donated and gift aid conversions of our existing database.
• Introduce new in memory products and campaigns to support fundraisers wishing to raise funds in memory of a loved one.
• Introduce a legacy marketing strategy to grow legacy fundraising at RSF, introducing KPIs to monitor impact across pledgers and intenders
• Establish business rules for recording Individual giving data on Salesforce to ensure that future analysis of the programme is robust and reliable
• Introduce new fundraising campaigns to reach new audiences and re-engage with existing donors
• Project management and delivery of existing Individual giving campaigns
• Introduce new individual giving campaigns to the portfolio, identifying key opportunities in the year using audience understanding, aligning with RSF’s strategy
• Work closely with gift in wills organisations to grow RSF’s legacy fundraising, reaching new audiences, connecting with solicitors across the UK
• Work with the Head of Finance to develop a legacy administration process
• Budget management and post activity delivery metric analysis, ensuring a robust contingency planning process is in place
• Development of fundraising collateral in conjunction with campaigns/products
• Coordinate the marketing requirements for each activity, producing pre and post communications/marketing collateral – including working with external production companies where required
• Set up product/campaign processes including fulfilment and supporter stewardship
• Ensure all individual giving and legacy activities are compliant with fundraising code of conduct, GDPR and other IG processes/policies
• Conduct regular sector wide and competitor research to stay ahead of trends and maximiseopportunities for RSF

• Exceptional experience of managing an individual giving programme, managing a range of campaigns/products of varying size and scale including acquisition activity, warm appeals and reactivation

• Excellent data analytical skills, able to set up processes to capture data and analyse data to ensure strategic decisions are based on audience insight and analysis

About the Ruth Strauss Foundation

In early 2018, Ruth Strauss, the wife of Sir Andrew Strauss the former England cricket captain, was diagnosed with an incurable lung cancer that affects non-smokers. Ruth died on December 29th 2018; she was 46 years old and mother to two children, then aged 10 and 13.

The Role

Each day you will travel to different venues, set up an attractive fundraising stand, and spend the day actively engaging with members of the public, spreading awareness about our conservation efforts and inspiring individuals to become lifelong members.

About You

What we need from you: 

• A passion for conservation (no prior knowledge required);

• Resilience 

• Ability to work to targets;

• A driver's licence valid for use in the UK;

• Happy to work 3 out of 4 weekends;

• Happy to travel (on average) an hour away from home each day;

• Willingness to work outdoors and independently;

• Fundraising/Sales and Customer Service experience (desirable). 

Whether you're from a hospitality, customer service, sales, or volunteering background, we're more interested in your negotiating/storytelling skills and enthusiasm than your previous experience.

Role Overview:

The Talent set is seeking an experienced Senior Marketing Manager – Policy and Advocacy to join a well-known health charity at an exciting time of transformation. This initial 3-month contract (with potential for extension and consideration for the permanent role) will focus on developing and executing strategic marketing campaigns that support the charity’s policy positions and advocacy goals.

The role involves building strong relationships with policymakers and stakeholders and contributing to shaping the public discourse on key health issues. This is a hybrid role, requiring travel into London 1–2 days per week for workshop meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop and implement marketing strategies to support policy and advocacy work, aligning with the organisation’s broader objectives.

· Manage advocacy campaigns from conception to execution, ensuring they are impactful, measurable, and targeted effectively.

· Engage with stakeholders including policymakers, media, and sector influencers to promote the charity’s positions and build support.

· Collaborate cross-functionally with PR, communications, and policy teams to ensure campaign cohesion.

· Monitor policy trends and conduct research to inform strategic messaging and campaign direction.

Person Specification:

· Proven marketing and communications experience, particularly in strategic and advocacy-focused roles.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives.

· Solid understanding of policy and advocacy, including knowledge of the policy-making process.

· Strong relationship-building skills, capable of influencing and engaging diverse stakeholders.

· Highly analytical and results-driven, able to evaluate success using performance metrics.

· Excellent project management abilities, with experience managing multiple initiatives concurrently.

· Experience in digital marketing and social media strategies.

· Background working within a charity, public affairs or health-related organisation.

· Experience collaborating with policy and communications teams in a cross-functional environment.
